How do I get from silver to gold?

I would really like some advice on this. I am not blaming but using this as an example.

I just played a game with a duo who got no kills but contributed 14 deaths of the 26. If I was Faker or some other high elo player, I would be able to carry that. I blame myself for that loss. How do I carry something like that?

Pls don't say that some games are unwinnable. I understand 50% ish of the games I will get people like this. How do I carry these 50%ish of games.

Play a carry role and main a single champion. This will help you win most of your lane match ups. Always play your main when you can, even if you get countered, most time you will be more experienced and be able to beat them. Buy a lot of wards and place deep wards, you can catch jungle who are low when they are getting camps. Nothing disheartens a team more than having their jungle killed in their own jungle, and you may even score a buff from it. Roam as much as you can to force kills. Not only will you or your teammates get the extra gold when you get that double kill bot. But you know that the adc is probably flaming their mid for not pinging or following or some shit like that. If the other team is fighting, the chances are much better that you're gonna win.

Some games ARE unwinnable. I remember having 2 afk's in bronze with a score of 4 to 20. You think there's any way I could have won that? 100% impossible.

The game was literally a 3v5 with the enemy team having a 16 kill lead.

Focusing on 1-3 different champions instead of playing a variety can get you to gold.

Other than that, improving your mechanics, map awareness, warding, and etc.. can help you reach gold.

Honestly, watch videos of how to lane as certain champions. Watch videos on harassing, trading, and csing while doing both. Watch videos on when / to roam and/or ward (to prevent successful roams from enemy).

I have friends who have over 1000 more games played than me who are silver IV and I'm sitting at gold I with only like 450 normal wins and 50 ranked wins. Learn the game outside of the game.

Apply the things you learn outside of the game while in game (duh), and you'll notice the things you're doing wrong a lot easier when you know how it's supposed to be done and learn quicker from that.

There isn't any secret ingredient to get to gold other than learn the game, apply your knowledge in game, and learn from your mistakes.

One trick is to shotcall well. "Don't check that bush, kill this guy, go do dragon now." People will generally listen if you calls are reasonable, and you can prevent an ally from feeding while you carry the game. Know when your team's power spikes are and focus on objectives. (pro games can help with develop this intuition)

Another trick is to snowball winning lanes instead of helping horribly-losing lanes as mid/jg, unless you're sure you can get a free kill. When an ally's lane is ahead, it frees them to help roam to other lanes as well. When you do this, make sure to tell your losing lane to give up a turret or lose cs if need be -- anything to avoid dying.

practice, practice, practice. That is the best advise anyone can ever give you. No specific champion, role, or strat can carry you until you yourself are capable of executing the play confidently and competently. Keep a cool head, a good attitude, and practice. The wins will come and you will climb.
