12 and 1 GP Support

Clarification : 12W - 1L Hitting someone for half health in early games does something to your opponents psyche... especially when it comes from the support.

So, I don't see GP as support all that much but I know it is nothing new. Just wanted to share the good luck I have been having.

Masteries: 21-9-0

**Runes: ** 18%crit damage, 12%crit chance crit chance marks and seals crit damage quints and glyphs

Start 2x Rush ex build

   -Q poke is your main goal as well as scouting the map to help out other lanes with your ult. The example build allows you to move around the map with over 500ms without activating your E. ![item 3158](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3158.png) may be tempting but in those moments before a fight fully starts, you take your 500+ms and pop a Q or two off in total safety because no one can move fast enough to respond.

I doubled my ADC's damage in the one game I lost...

GP support isn't really a new thing, but it has several drawbacks.

No CC to peel. Keep in mind as a support your job is to protect your ADC and get them kills. If you're 12-1, you're not doing one or both of those. Supports are the unsung heroes of bot lane. But they don't take kills.
He lacks sustain for his ADC. With many people playing some sort of sustain, you should at the VERY least, go Targon's brace to help your ADC.
He does have a MS boost to escape, but it's a weak one if you're pushed all the way to their tower, it's still probably death to a 3 man gank, and nearly assured if they 4 man gank you. And a free Dragon (which is a HUGE deal with the new dragon).

On the other hand, he has safe poke, and huge damage early, both true statements. Except since you're not building mana regen, Sona/Nami will out heal your poke pretty quickly.

he's has 2 slows
It's a kill lane.
A 4 man gank wrecks anyone. You don't heal Q's that do 50% max health on at least every other cast once you have shiv. Your W can be used to bait CC.

My apologies. I misundertood.

Don't get me wrong. With enough skill and vision and teamwork, nearly any non meta champion -can- support. I'm just noting that as you get higher, more people will know how to exploit weaknesses that the champs have, IE, in GP's case, they'll load up on cc to keep you from running.

But seriously, if it's working for you; don't let me rock the boat. =D

Wouldn't relic shield be better than coin? Pretty sure that Q would proc the execute since it counts as a melee attack for hydra, and you'd get the additional gold for Q then.

Ignite is probably better than exhaust when doing a gimmicky support, since people won't measure damage as well on something they're unfamiliar with. You'll get more surprise kills that way.

I don't take ignite because I DO try to be a good little support and not take kills unless I have to.

The surprise kills really come from the crits. Not a kill but an example of the surprise. I had a mid game experience were a Taric and Ez thought sense it was just me at the tower they were just going to muscle in and take it. I Q'd Ez for half health and they changed their mind.

What summoner spells do you take?

I played with a support GP once, he did summoner 6 summoner 12 and just split pushed in the mid game.

i fail to see how gp support helps your adc? you want them to get all the kills and do the damage :/ it seems gp sup is counter intuitive to this.

Check my match history, I got almost all of my ADC's fed. You don't have to take kills. Once you have shiv your q does half health crits with the runes I listed.

Yeah I'm curious why you would go with coin over relic shield - relic shield generally yields more gold and it has tanky stats

It's a full on crit build, tankyness is not really my concern. I use the coin for gold and mainly the mana regen. The mana regen is good enough to where I can constantly q and not run out of mana, with the help of about 3 mana pots over the course of the laning phase. I'll tend to drop the coin if it will finish off IE or Tri. Spellthief could also be used and may be better for my playstyle at least.
