Gold Turbostart
Can we talk about how getting gold early is strictly better than items? It snowballs so easily into an insurmountable lead. How am I supposed to go for the comp I was given items for when I've got 20 gold and my 3 neighbors have 50?

From start don't re-roll or level-up till you get 50 golds. You should have 50 golds imediate after Krugs. Just buy level 1-2 units and maximum 2 stars. If units don't come don't panic, you'll have a good lose streak, (worst scenario around 65 HP after Krugs).
That's why you are stucking in gold 1 :)
So at stage 2-9 your gold way is to have around 10 golds but 90-100 hp. You'll have a strong early game comp but your income will be 5-6 golds. At the same stage my way is to have around 50 golds but 65-75 hp and my income will be 10 golds.
To remake your 50 golds interest you have to take no action 6-7 rounds. Meantime I will have one level above you and stronger units. 4-5 of my diamond opponents have 40-50 golds at Krugs. The rest 3-4 opponents have 30-40 golds.
