If in poker, a random player randomly has 2 less cards for the rest of the game than the other players.

I was comparing a hand of poker, to an entire match of TFT. Because you can go in and out of poker matches, play as many or as few hands as you like. (In a casino I can go to a table, play a hand, and leave.) So, a hand, could be a game. In TFT, you'll be there for at least 20m...
A game of TFT takes longer than a game of backgammon. (Assuming that one knows how to play backgammon...)
Winning (or placing) in TFT frequently takes 45m. Even the first elimination may not occur until after 20m.
Leaving poker aside, and comparing TFT to Gin/Rummy, Rummikub, Go Fish etc... (games where you try to build (or shed) a single hand), TFT takes longer.
This game has similar RNG to card games (like poker) and dice games. But it takes a lot longer than any of them.
exept in poker, you can fold and by time till your ready to pounce, TFT is win or lose in the first few rounds
