So, I guess we're just ignoring the fact that Tahm can no longer support?

Haven't seen anything by Riot on this. Do they not him to be a support anymore? I get that he's uninteractive and a problem in pro play but couldn't we adjust some of the changes around the fact that he's been a support for a very long time instead of just throwing him into another lane to be a problem in?

He's problematic in the top lane now, that should signal a fundamental issue with his kit. We don't get that many supports a year, it would be nice if we don't remove anymore than we have to...

He is even out of the list of support champs (when you click the support icon in champ select)

lol....

(edited since people keep annoyingly posting the same thing.)

And is a nightmare top for those that know him

Cool theme, but his kit was a mistake. Riot has a habit of doing that.

Nah dude it's fine now he counters literally every melee champion top as intended.

Morgana isn't really a support anymore either. Her WR as a support has plummeted and most challenger support mains seem to say she's garbage tier beyond a counter pick. This seems fine to me. She was originally released as a mid and she, along with all the other mages, are strong in mid lane right now.

Tahm probably had a less well-defined initial role, and while he may have been a support pick in the LCS or high level play, he was generally not picked at all. Now he is the terror of top lane. I think it's healthy that he gets to finally be good at something and be picked.

Honestly, Riot needs to give up on the LCS. It is destroying League. The decision to make stopwatch timers longer, and remove Tahm's ability to eat an ally, and nerfing black shield, are all indicative of Riot wanting people to get kills in laning phase. Unfortunately, this turns League of legends into more of a brawl than a strategy game. I find it quite annoying.

I'm perfectly content going into my lane and farming minions, strategically warding, and rotating to objectives and gank. I don't see the need to make sure that burst assassins and dive champions excel at killing people. Dive should be a risky strategy. Right now it seems to be the only strategy that Riot games wants to allow. It's disappointing.

That has been Riot goal for a while, it's not random that he's no longer a Supp:

It's that a Supp identity being a mobile Zhonyas + a TP ultimate was cáncer for the game and wont return

Good tahm support is bad for the game and he should be a jg or top.

The only way tahm support can be fun and fair to fight is with heavy reworking.

He's still picked in pro as support. But I'm thrilled people think he's unplayable in support.

This guy could never be jungle. And never should the min he gets his ult or if you take smite/ Tele. All of you would be right back here bitching about how this man is all over the map eating everyone. Dude could easy clear the whole map by ganking top bot and mid at the same time. And for how slow jungle is I don't know if people know how busted alot of tank jungles are now with them forcing jungles to have to either fail early game ganks and fall off to nothing or become a tank and snow ball the hell out of team mid to late. Its actually funny some times when i play Zac jungle i stack whatever speed runes i can and just keep slinging in to lanes. so long as my lanes aren't brain dead the enemy team becomes so tilted from raging on there jungle that i just catch there jungle outside in the river For a talk or just go top. No lie i have had game where the jungle tried counter ganking lanes i ganked only for me to run top. never fails at level 4 go bot gank 2 times and then farm there jungle will go bot to counter your gank assuming you will show if they countered you. Then just got top he will back track to mid and then top or look in your bot jungle either way he will make his way top. at 5 go right to dragon like i said unless your teams brain dead this works all the time. The way riot broke this game is crazy its not even player vs player its more of a game of Tag in the jungle who gets what first before the other jungle.

Commenting on OP's comments on top lane only, it's not a signal that his kit has a fundamental issue... it's simply a result of the recent offsetting buffs hugely benefiting Tahm's top play.

They removed the W speed for eating allies, basically the #1 strongest part of his old kit in high-elo/pro play. To offset the buffs they added for more reach/damage. It's a massive change for his support gameplay at high levels of play, so all-things-equal it's going to take a while for him to see success again in bot lane. Honestly, if you're not high elo though the recent changes should make him stronger in every role since it is essentially damage buffs, even support where the ally-W wasn't used that effectively anyway.

And while not super popular, Tahm top has been a thing for a while now and these buffs were straight-up huge buffs to his gameplay there as a solo lane tank. It was extremely obvious this was coming after just one glance at those patch notes.

Where they go from here I'm not sure...if you nerf damage for top lane that would just make support probably unplayable. Probably have to dial back on the original change a bit, by reducing the Q range slightly and slightly buffing his ally-eat speed again, so still the same direction as the recent change but just by not as much.

Personally as someone who plays all roles on and off I've never found support Tahm to be that fun. Other tank support options are just more mobile and have better all in potential. He's always been more fun in top lane

I start to believe that grey health isn't a healthy mechanic if all you need to do to regen a large pool of hp is walk back a bit without spending any ressource/cd

Jack Eron6/4/2019, 6:27:29 PM2 votes

He has one spell to defend his adc.

It has half minute CD - and if you max this spell, you won't be able to be tanky.
