is it better to leave champs at 2 star unit instead of trying to achieve 3 star?

this fukks me up every damn time

i try to get that one last unit to achieve 3 star champ and it costs me all me gold for rerolls so i end up 2 levels lower than my enemy -,-

sometimes i spend 40+ gold for ONE more unit to get 3* and the RNG gods fuk me in the arsehole and tell me NOP not today

The general rule of thumb, don't ever try and 3 star a 4 or 5 cost unit, almost never happens and just becomes a giant sinkhole of gold. In certain scenarios playing 2 copies of the same 2 star 4 cost unit is strong af tho like Draven, but that's a different topic.

Don't attempt to 3 star a 3 cost unit unless its ur primary carry for damage like a 3 item rengar. It costs u 18 additional gold and a ton of rerolls on top of that to achieve, just make sure ur at least lv 7 b4 u try this tho, because the chance of rolling a blue is significantly higher.

1 and 2 stars are generally realistic to achieve 3 stars on and pretty crucial for comps like gunslingers to try and get trist, graves or lucian to 3 star.

not a tft expert here, but I have found more success with upgrading your whole crew to star 2 first than trying to fish for the last two copies of your potential "star 3 carry". Having to spend so much gold is not the only problem, but it also clocks up your bank which makes it hard to raise multiple champs at once and building synergies.

I don´t really focus on getting 3 stars anymore unless I am incredibly lucky and save my gold for levels and more powerful units.
