Could be worse, your idiot teammates could feed for 15 minutes then 4/5 surrender in ranked during your promo game. I'd rather have 3 idiots who are too stupid to give up and give me time to (maybe) split push and farm to win than have 4 dipshits throw away my LP.

You call this worse? Having feeders that actually fuckin surrender is called a great day.

Not when you're a 250cs trynd who's literally split pushing the enemy inhib as they surrender.

My team wanted to surrender at 15 and 20 minutes. We were down like 23-4 in kills, and the enemy had taken three turrets to our one turret we got. Both votes failed by only one person (me) - going 4-1 in favor for the early surrender and 3-2 in favor for the 20 minute vote (not sure who the other no vote was, but I’m glad they did).

We came back to win the game at 40 minutes. KDA and objectives early mean nothing. Every single champion has power spikes - be it based on levels, based on items, based on a combination of those, or some other factor. Most teams will gain synergy as the game goes on and cooldowns are lower, damage is higher, and tanks are tanker.

As the saying goes, it’s not over until the fat lady sings.

If Fiona hadn’t quit, that game would’ve been a toss up.

You would of had to rely heavily on the Vayne to carry late but they are so far ahead you wouldnt had a late game not to mention that had 3 champs that could lock her down. Most everyone else was down so much that they would of needed a 40m game to get back in there and most games are over before 25m.

They would also be depending on a vayne that had died 8 times already before 20 minutes. Someone like that is highly likely to make another mistake with that same mistake ending the game.

The flaw with this logic is that it assumes equal skill level. If you had ten people of equal skill and dumped them into an in-progress match like this one, then yes, the losing team might manage to hang on even through this massive level/item discrepancy and eventually level the playing field enough for it to be a toss-up.

However, one team usually falls behind the other not by accident, but due to factors like skill, tilt, etc. which won't just disappear once the losing team gets items. Snowballing just makes things worse, tilts people, etc. Not many matches pit an early-game team against a tilt-proof late-game team of equal skill.

Yeah sorry not gonna waste another 20 minutes for ANOTHER coinflip of "maybe the enemy team is even dumber than mine" when in those 20 mins i can already win the next game and forget about it.

In the 15 min surrender you can atleast learn something about your loss. After a 40 minutes exhausting shitfest you probably don't even WANT to think about it anymore.

Maybe if the team comps were "late game vs early game", and the Vayne didn't already die 8 times before 20 minutes. Same with Amumu, 0-7-0 means he probably never died ganking, just getting invaded, caught out, or trying to counter jg.

Believe it or not, most people play League to have fun. Even if they had the chance to win, it would have been an utterly miserable slugfest that would have not been enjoyable at all.

I've realized it, most games I play are either kinda close and clutch wins, or we lose by 5 minutes because the score is 2 to 12. I don't understand how or why this happens so much but it's really disgusting tbh. Ranked is supposed to be a measure of my skills, my rank is supposed to reflect that. Being completely pubstomped by what feel like diamond smurfs by 15 minutes every 3-4 games being a guaranteed loss feels like my MMR is completely and arbitrarily fucked. I'm at 74 wins 82 losses, those 8 losses were these disgusting rofl stomps where my team is 20 kills behind by 15...

OH and to add insult to injury, as a top main, I generally am the last person to die with pretty decent farm. and I think to myself "okay I got this" only to get completely melted by a fed mid or adc without even getting close enough to hit them.

TBH; the fact that "there are some unwinnable games, just deal with it" is an excuse for this is proof that ranked is broken and matchmaking sucks. There should be NO unwinnable games if you're playing against people that are genuinely at your own skill level... But it feels like Riot picks two players at random per match and gives one side good players and the other side bad players, it feels like when I go 13 and 1 I am the "good player" carrying baddies, stomping people who aren't as good as me. When I'm 5/4/8 with a teammate who is 16/2/11 it feels like I was matched with him so he'd get his win, similarly, when I'm 1/0/2 and the rest of my team is 1/5/0, 2/9/2 etc; it feels like I was destined to lose that game, just because Riot wanted to feed LP to someone on the other team.

It's not only rankeds; Normals and Arams work the same way. You can actually see better there that something is wrong: Plat 4 matched against (actual) level 45.

"but Normals have a different MMR". And? Am I supposed to believe that a Platinum player has the same skill of a 45 level newbie? Please.

"it's just Normal, it's just Aram". And? is that a good motivation why my time has to get wasted?

The game is going downhill, they've lost tons of players within a couple of years, and still they keep going straightforward this way. Very wise :D

Those are exactly the kind of stupid excuses that infuriate me and people use as a mean to waste more time in a game your team won't have a chance to win.

My pointless games always go like this.

** [Insert Top Laner here] at 18 minutes**: Guys we have late game.

Meanwhile, bot is struggling to stay alive under their second tower as the enemy jungler calls rift herald. The midlaner has been in respawn for half the game. After several failed ganks and all the jungler pressure, top and jungler finally get a kill on the enemy tank who would have either split push or been tanky late game anyways.

I can't count how many games like this I've had, and it is always the top laner and jungler who is unwilling to surrender. It isn't as if they have impressive scores either. I'd be willing to keep the fight up for say a 5/1 Jax , but more often than not they're something like 2/3 or 1/1 and they still haven't taken tower when they've gotten ALL of our jungler pressure and almost no ganks from the enemies.

What's worse is when we just have a bad team comp. Either we were supposed to get ahead and we didn't, or there's just little champion synergy on top of the game going down the toilet.

People seriously need to learn when to throw in the towel. You can't win every game, and forcing people to stay in a losing situation just sours everyone's mood. This isn't early League. Not every game is winnable due to the amount of one-sided match ups there are now, and people who have that mindset and can't get with the times are a major problem with the surrender feature right now.

I hope we get to see a solution to this because yes, this is an extremely common and obnoxious problem.

And you can't do anything else besides waste another 20 minutes getting stomped because the team won't FF and the enemy team won't end the game because they want to feel superior. Even if you try to tell them to end the game because obviously your team will never win a team fight the only thing you will get in response is shit talk. While of course your team is using the classic stupid excuses: "We can win late game" or "It's a normal anyway". The problem is people most likely will play as good or bad as they play in a normal game, so why is this an excuse.

I get that there are times where you can actually make a comeback if the teams are on the same level of skill, your team plays safe and farm, and when you do win games like that you feel satisfied, but let's be real here, almost 90% of the time the team won't even try.

^The game in question^

Your jungle got invaded a bunch be looks of the champion deaths on the map and your lanes never responded to his ganks. Even without Fiora you still could've built a seeker's arm guard for instance. Vayne always could've played safer and just farmed cs into mid game.

No from the looks of it your team was full of shitter ego and unwilling to stop blaming each other long enough to move as a unit or play safe. Typical Silver elo players really.

PermaJinxed1 votes

Being 4v5 means yes, move on... Ff and go.... If it was 5v5 than your ONE hope is to outlast the enemy... To let your hyper carry scale up and do work... But that is a long tedious grind from behind if you are evenly skilled and a coin flip if you are weaker players....

And the 4v5 negates any potentialyour carries have because while a 6 item Vayne is better than a 6 item anyone on thier team... They have an extra 6 items on that 5th you are lacking...

Beerstein1 votes

On that team comp you can TBH. Doesn't mean it'll be remotely easy but if your allies want to fight for it and refuse surrender it didn't hurt to give it your best.

FioraWillCarry1 votes

Do you think that 1-7 Morde or that 0-7 Amumu will magically become LCS players during the course of the game? No, those dipshits would just feed and feed and feed and feed. Who the fuck wants to play out that shit? Just ff.

No, Alpha's never surrender games. YOU ARE NOT ALPHA. Learn to be an alpha like me. Then you can truly understand how counterplay and objectives can win the game but not kills. I never give up until they destroy my nexus. Before that happens, there's always a chance to come back. Just need to find their mistakes and amplify it like a true alpha. LEARN!
