Why can kassadin drain mana to shield himself from units like vayne, and graves?

Critmaster Garen··8 votes·1,935 views

neither of them is even building mana. they purely rely on basic attacks.

what is the shield value that kassadin gets even based on, when there is no mana to drain? all i can say is he still gets a shield for some reason.

TFT doesnt use normal league logic. mana is used for pretty much all abilities.

there are some units in TFT that do not build up mana.

vayne and graves dont build up any mana at all, because they have no spells and get passive auto attack amplifiers instead. there is no mana to drain for kassadin to shield himself.

his description says, that kassadins auto attacks drain a units mana, and grant him a shield from the mana drained. it doesnt make sense that he still gets the shield when he attacks a target without mana.

I don’t understand why they didn’t just give Kassadin a mana bar and give him his Q like he has in SR. He has to build it up like any other spell in the game, and then he throws his little void orb and gets a big shield. I don’t see what’s wrong with that

Also why is he a sorcerer instead of a brawler

The same logic is used on his SR Q. The "excess energy" gives him a shield. The shield has a flat value and is in no way related to the damage dealt.

the ability reads he "drains mana AND shields himself". nowhere does it say that he needs to drain mana to use it. in fact if you hover it its a static shield, so it never required him to drain mana to do anything.

these are two separate parts of the passive.

what does his exact description word for word say? does it say "basic attacks grants a shield of 20/40/60 and draining up to the same amount of the enemy's mana", which is how he actually works?

The shield isn't linked to mana, it's a static number you can see when you hover his ability

this '' bug'' or ''broken interaction'' is there since launch and you are amonst the few to have seen and talked about it

but like many others that can be abused or need to be avoided(ranged champs are a mess) it probly will be ignored since people play the game mode anyways

and like LOL we are gonna have a sht game/game mode full of bugs, broken champs, broken items, broken interaction that few people will see how bad it is and a lot of rose tinted riot fans will eagerly play and abuse for X reason

league of circus!... just a big joke!

I do think Kassadin and Demons should be intertwined in that regard and agree with OP. there should be something being drained to give Kassadin his shield or for the demon proc to do damage. if that would require compensation buffs, so be it. either that or Kassadin's description needs to be reworded but I prefer he actually has to drain mana to do it.

Why does vayne passive stack in sheen's dodge field (and deal proc damage) in both tft and regular game, they took shortcuts in creating tft which should either all be fixed or all left.

Shen creates a zone around himself, allowing allies to dodge all attacks Duration : 3 / 4 / 5

Her W is considered a spell iirc.

Her W is considered a spell iirc.

That doesnt mean it should hit, dodge in tft says;

Dodge causes incoming attacks to miss (deal no damage and do not apply spell or item effects).

He should only gain a shield from mana he drains imo. Draining full value from manaless champs and champs with 0 mana at the time makes no sense.

Are we seriously complaining about Kassadin of all units

The dude is melee only, has low base hp, and the shield is the only thing that enables him to not instantly blow up past early game. If he's attacking a Graves or something his mana burn function is entirely wasted.
