So that whole thing about not facing the same person over and over again? Still there.

I'm getting really frustrated now - I keep facing the same opponents twice in a row, interspersed with facing them every other match. How hard is it to make the matchmaking algorithm heavily weight every other opponent that you haven't faced recently? It should be IMPOSSIBLE to face the same opponent twice in a row when there are 7-8 other players still on the field, not improbable.

Yup. Always feels like the most lopsided matchups too, though that could well be confirmation bias. I notice it more when I get my butt stomped hard by the same team two times in a row. Shouldn't double matches like that be impossible before Krugs?

I had it happen in the first pvp stage earlier today, facing the same opponent twice in a row. I think it is less noticeable when you win, but I've been on both the giving and receiving end since the latest patch. I think there was one game I won where I faced the same guy 4 times out of like 6 battles. Getting a massive win streak like that increases the victor's economy too. It becomes "win harder or lose harder", which I think is exactly the opposite design philosophy from encouraging adaptation and being rewarded for making good choices, and by virtue making a comeback. If you aren't setup just right and this happens, the punishment is very heavy handed and having the ability to make adaptations before losing most to all of your hp is going to be almost non-existent.

Actually much worse than before they "fixed" it. Seems to happen at least 1-2 times per game where you are against the same person back to back.
