@Riot Fiora new ultimate mechanics and whaaa?
So having spoken with designers from Riot at GDC, I got the impression that design mechanics in general are desired to make some kind of sense thematically and in gameplay. This was part of the decision for removing the allied minion killing portion from Gangplank's E, among many others.
So looking at Fiora thematically, I have to ask the question - how does a blade waltzing duelist thematically become a team support with her ultimate having a healing ability? I understand mechanically that makes Fiora more of a team fight champion, but wouldn't it make more sense to have some kind of attack buff or defensive parrying ability or a movement buff, something that reflects being a swordswoman? How many healers do you know that use a rapier to heal their wounded and send them back into the fight?
I appreciate the effort to make Fiora more viable with teamwork synergy, just having her ultimate reward for hitting enough weak points be an AoE healing mechanic doesn't really seem to fit thematically for me. Thoughts?
