Nerf Evelynn's execute threshold please!
is terrorizing the boards nowadays and for a good reason. She was overbuffed, since TFT came to live servers, and she was considered sleeper OP by a lot of high elo players, and in korea, until patch 9.17 where she became dominant with her tankiness and absurd damage, when itemized correctly. She went from complete garbage to God status real fast!
Let's go over all the direct, and indirect, buffs
got, shall we!
Evelynn
- Health: 550 ⇒ 600
- Execute threshold: 50% HP ⇒ 65% HP
- Execute damage multiplier: 300/400/500% ⇒ 300/500/700%
- Eve's ability now roots targets during the cast time (0.35s) to prevent them from moving out of the area of effect.
Evelynn
- Attack Damage: 50 ⇒ 60
- Health: 600 ⇒ 550
Patch 9.15 (Assassin buffs):
- Evelynn Attack Damage: 60 ⇒ 70
- Evelynn Ability Damage: 200/250/350 ⇒ 200/300/400
Patch 9.16 (Demon rework):
Demon basic attacks have a 40% chance to burn 20 mana from their target and return 15/30/45 mana to the attacker.
Patch 9.17 (Assassin rework):
- (3) Trait Bonus: 125% Crit Damage ⇒ 75% Crit Damage & 10% Crit Chance
- (6) Trait Bonus: 350% Crit Damage ⇒ 150% Crit Damage & 25% Crit Chance
All of these buffs meant that
can now cast her ability more often (9.16 Demon buff), deals tons of damage (9.14 / 9.14B / 9.15 / 9.17 buffs) and can execute any unit from 65% HP (9.14 buff).
Now, If someone puts Dragon's Claw and/or
and/or
on
, and he paired her up with at least 1 other Demon, she becomes unkillable and she will wipe out your whole team on her own, because she can spam her ult so often and execute units, left and right, since most of them will be below 65% HP, mid fight, anyway.
I understand that she needed most of those buffs to make her viable, when TFT released, but now she became too OP, for a 3 cost unit.
My suggestions to balance her:

Nerf her execute threshold to 50%, or even 40% HP.

Revert the buff to her base damage from patch 9.15: 200/300/400 ⇒ 200/250/350.

Keep her Execute damage multiplier: 300/500/700%.
If you consider all these 3 suggestions with the 2 reworks that Demons (9.16) and Assassins (9.17) got recently, I'm certain she will be balanced and still be viable in Assassin and demon comps.
But in her current state, she deals way too much damage and her execute is kinda on the low risk / high reward side, since it's so easy to execute units at 65% HP, or less, in this meta where damage prevails over tankiness and utility, and considering that she also drops aggro on herself when she ults. She does so much for so little risk!
Also, if you consider items like
, it's so easy to put the backline units at around 65% HP which makes them in execute range of
real quick!
I can deal with all the other assassins in so many ways, but
is just broken, atm.
So, please Riot, nerf this 3 cost unit, that is doing the job of a 5 cost unit, in such a safe manner!
