Gaining 75 LP overall after several hours of playing only to lose it all in just 1 loss...

I played a lot of TFT ranked games today and, overall, I ended up making good progress and gained 75 LP in D4... only to lose all of it in just one loss (8th place). Just ONE LOSS and a whole day worth of progress is just GONE!

Are you kidding me Riot? I wasted so much time playing and climbing up and you destroy my whole progres because I had one bad game?! REALLY? WTF is this punishment system?

It's already hard, as it is, to climb up to D4 with the game being so buggy and all the RNG and exploits abusers I have to face each game. But I gotta deal with this kind of LP loss as well?! Fix the LP system, for crying out loud!

This really needs upvoted. This is the most frustrating part of tft for me. Huge LP losses are extremely unfun, along with low MMR making you lose LP in fourth.

This is the expected behavior, and any matchmaking/rating system on a FFA game would behave the same way. The system treats each game as 7 individual matches. 1st place is 7 wins - 0 losses, 2nd is 6 wins - 1 loss, 3rd place is 5 wins - 2 losses, and so on. So let's say you play 4 games and get 3rd place twice and 4th place twice. That means your actual record is 18-10. Then you lose at 8th place. That would put your actual record at 18-17, and you'd expect to be around where you were when you started.

Guys - it's actually going to get WORSE after the "bug fix".

After that huge loss of LP you take which leaves you at 0LP. The next game - you very likely to demote. As losing with 0LP will demote you (when they fix bug). They need to define what "losing" is. Cos currently - I'm interpreting it as getting negative LP in a game... which is VERY LIKELY in higher ranks.

Conclusion. 1x 7/8th place pretty much equals a demotion. As you are reduced to 0LP... and then your next game probs get a little negative resulting in immediate demotion.

Not fun
