for requiring 6 units with some of them highest quality, the 80 flat damage reduction is worthless by the time the comp would get together and enemies can crit for between 1500 damage to 4500 in extreme cases.

the knight synergy should change to 20% (2), 30% (4), 40% (6) damage reduction against auto attacks and spells, which would make them also scale well with health items, so this makes even a lot of thematic sense for all of them but kayle.
