Vincent, the Unsung Huntsman
I've been playing a bit of Quinn in ARURF and it dawned upon me that there isn't really a Noxian version of her playstyle, and in almost no time at all one came to mind. So without further ado...
#Vincent ##The Unsung Huntsman "Noxus. Demacia. Ionia. It doesn't matter where you're from. Just do your job, and do it right." (He's called such because even though he's famed within Noxus, he eventually took a non-Noxian approach to how he does things which led to people shunning his name as anti-Noxus)
A man once prided for his work as a Noxian Huntsman, Vincent could catch a mark whether it be man or monster with the help of his most devout allies--Flit, an Freljordian Gyr(-falcon) that can track through even the densest obscurity; Strider, a hive-minded collective of Ionian Vipers; and Hati, a Noxian Wardog (wolf). Exploration, insight and experience eventually led to his "retirement" from his duties within Noxus, allowing him to now travel as a mercenary for whatever cause he deems just...so long as it's worth his talents and time.
##Biography Coming Eventually But some key design points:
- Brown skinned
- Middle-aged
- Tired of people
- Tough guy, good heart
Partially a self-insertCompletely original yup
##Abilities:
Fighter/Marksman
Passive: Aerial Recon Flit scouts above Vincent, providing a slightly expanded vision radius. As well, Flit can release an ALERT cry which tells anyone close to Vincent, friend or foe, that an unseen enemy is within a certain radius. There is a small timer between successive Alerts and each period of Alerts lasts for a few seconds or until that intruder is a certain distance away from Flit's detection area.
Q: Martial Circumstance Vincent typically wields a hunting knife for combat which passively causes a bleed effect following multiple attacks against an anemy. On activation, this ability allows him to switch to his trusty handgun which fires a total of 7 rounds before entering a reload cooldown. Reload-speed is decreased with attack speed, and upon switching to his firearm, if an attack is made within an extremely small window, Vincent performs an empowered Quickdraw with both increased damage as well as immediately attacking. Switching back to his knife gives Vincent a small burst of movement speed. At max rank, damage slightly decreases but the need to reload is lost.
W: Striders Territory Vincent targets a location for Striders to lie in wait, creating a camoflaged trap. Once triggered, Striders will swarm the enemy, applying a small, increasing slow, the Grounded debuff, as well as a small Venom that does True Damage over time. If the venom would kill an enemy, Striders gather at the fallen target's position as another trap. Number of traps increase with level, while at max rank the Striders trap become invisible.
E: Quick Dive/Speed Reload While using his knife, activating the ability causes Vincent to dive in the target direction. If making impact with an enemy Champion, he performs a Stunning Blow which causes physical damage and stuns the enemy for a short time. If no champion is in his way, the dive becomes Evasive Maneuver allowing him to avoid incoming damage throughout the motion. This does NOT avoid damage-over-time area-of-effect abilities such as Anivia's Ultimate. Quick Dive can move across obstructions While using his gun, activating the ability performs mostly the same but without the stunning attack. It also immediately reloads his gun. Terrain can only be crossed thrice before a travel cooldown begins.
R:Mount/Ferocious Impact Initial activation of the ability causes Vincent to mount Hati, his Wardog. Riding Hati provides increased movement speed as well as an E ability unique to riding. Auto-attacking causes Vincent to Dismount, and while holding his knife Hati will perform a claw attack that deals increased damage based on the enemy's missing health. Re-casing the ability at a target location while mounted causes Hati to lunge at the area, the force of which pushing enemies at the outer edge of the impact away while enemy champions caught in the center of the impact are knocked up. Hati then remains and becomes an ally pet for a short time, entering Wardog mode.
- As a pet, Hati doesn't have a standard health bar but instead only endures a certain number of basic attacks or targeted abilities. Turret attacks count as 2. If Hati's health depletes, he retreats to Recover and Mount becomes unavailable until Hati does so.
- Hati's health, auto attack damage and attack speed are based on Vincent's. As well, Hati has the same on-hit affects.
- While active, Hati targets either the enemy champion at the point of the player's click or the closest enemy--prioritizing Champions, then Large Monsters, then anything else--then dismisses once Hati's first-targeted champion falls, Hati is out of combat, or when Vincent re-mounts.
- Though Mount has no cooldown, Ferocious Impact does. At max level, Hati remains in Wardog mode indefinitely and will attack the closest enemies to him while Vincent isn't Mounted, every other aspect of him considered. While in Wardog mode and out of combat, Vincent can direct Hati by holding Alt and right-clicking.
E becomes Maul/Disperse, depending on what weapon Vincent is currently wielding. While holding his knife, Vincent dismounts and sends Hati in a target direction, damaging enemies along the way and causing a micro-stun. Enemy champions affected by Striders Venom are stunned for longer. Minions take flat damage while enemy champions and neutral monsters take a slightly-increased damage-over-time effect. While affected by Maul, the bleed from Vincent's knife is increased and caused even on the first attack. While holding his gun, Vincent dismounts and sends Hati to a target location, creating a slight knockback. Maul and Disperse share a cooldown.
##Champion Affiliations
Likes:
He respects Udyr's animalistic capabilities, Sejuani's use of and companionship with Bristol, and Riven's strengthened resolve.
Dislikes:
[Void Creatures] Simply put, he doesn't agree with wonton destruction. Rengar hunts for the fun of it, Jhin's a serial killer, Sylas doesn't think through his plans and Void Creatures just destroy stuff.
##Fun facts I thought up instead of typing out the Biography:
- Repeatedly switching between knife and gun causes Vincent to vocalize his frustration with being indecisive in how he'll attack
- Joke causes Flit to steal his knife and point it at him, Striders to steal his gun and aim it at him, and Hati to position behind him causing Vincent to fall backwards while he's trying to retreat from his seemingly rebelling friends.
- Dancing at certain times yield different results-- When neutral, Flit fluttering around him while he slowly waves with her (He learned this in the Freljord); When on a Striders trap, he sways along while the snakes slither across his body (He learned this in Ionia); While Hati is near, he shuffles left to right while Hati mirrors him (Because Hati is the best boy); While mounted, he twirls whatever weapon is being used while Hati bounces his body
- In case it's not clear, this is a pretty multi-cultural character. Vincent is black, of course, but Flit is based on an arctic bird for the Freljord, Striders are based on an asian snake for Ionia, and Hati is named after a Norse mythological creature.
I was bored and put a bit more effort into this than I intended. I completey forgot that this was meant to be a Noxian version of Quinn lol it ended up becoming my sort-of dream champion. Huh. Well, tell me what you think. This is perhaps the most fun design of a champion that I can think of. A knife, a gun, a wolf, snakes, a bird, being able to switch between a melee and ranged fighter, dots, and one massive CC with some smaller ones here and there. All my favorite things rolled into one without being too strong hopefully.
