PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, RIOT

DON'T make Kayle a generic waifu-bait champion with a generic waifu-bait design. You do not have to make a gorgeous champion just to have people interested in her. "She always wears a helmet" does not matter since she has skins where she's unmasked. You can give her a mature look. You can show her battle-worn existence through her expressions. You can give her muscle tone, battle-scars and a strong presence that fits someone who's embroiled in a never-ending war. You can give her heavy quotes that makes us as players think about the conflict within this game that we take for granted as just champ banter. You can make her a semi-unique existence within this game.

If you need a point of reference for what I'm talking about, I GOT YOU, RIOT.

Just please, take a chance. It's worth it.

I was sad when Kai'sa got released and she somehow managed to keep a perfect pretty little face with zero damage to any parts of her. Hell yeah, give me that gritty battle angel, full on scars and the thousand yard stare all the way.

More than likely her helmet will be a toggle function on her base skin.

You can give her muscle tone, battle-scars and a strong presence that fits someone who's embroiled in a never-ending war.

This depends on if it is a 'constant war', its entirely possible to keep 'conflicting ideals' thematic without making it 'constant/ drawn out war', just my opinion.

They're not gonna make her helmet a toggle when there's literall a skin specifically for her not wearing a helmet lol

It's a war of politics, that's fought between immortal beings. If they don't change that, they won't change her being an constant battle.

On contrary it makes no sense for there to be an 'unmasked skin' when removing her helmet is a feature that can be implemented for free on the base skin and has been implemented on other champions. More than likely 'Unmasked Kayle' is going to become a completely new skin similar to crimson Akali becoming infernal Akali.

Not making Kayle's helmet a toggle feature would be the same as if Riot made a "Banner Wing" skin for the Aatrox rework instead of giving him banners as a toggle feature or releasing Kai'sa with a ""Unmasked Kai'sa" skin instead of having the helmet be a toggle imo.

Exactly its a skin because it was released seasons ago, whereas nowadays its something they can do for free on the base skin and recreate the "Unmasked Kayle" skin.

In my opinion it makes more sense for the base skin to have a helmet toggle function. "Unmasked Kayle" is already no longer the only skin where Kayle is unmasked, if the toggle function actually goes through all other skins would have both a 'masked' and 'unmasked' form of some sort.

The problem then, is it okay to leave players with a thematic has lost its uniqueness and could suffer an even bigger blow? The main selling point of the skin has become its age and relative rarity and likely Unmaksed and Riot Kayle would become available when Kayle's rework is released, as they've done with previous reworks. 'Enhancing' skins like Unmasked and Viridian gives Riot a chance to sell skins that were just re-colours and gives something to the players that already own them.

It more I think base Kayle should have a toggle function for her helmet opposed to, I think "Unmasked Kayle" should be changed.

She is likely an Ascended though. And we know Ascended can regenerate massively. Her having scars would mean she saw some scary shit.

Even beside that, I am more in the side Kayle protecting her beauty and letting scared face architype to a new champion. An angel being beautiful beyond human measure is not a rare description. And she currently uses that. Why to make unneccesary, dramatic changes that could backlash really bad?

Kayle, in my opinion, shouldn't lose her pure, unharmed beauty.

Kayle's current description is that she has a nigh-broken soul and heavy personal damage due to constant exposure to evil and war, despite her features. This wouldn't be a change at all; it would be keeping her character true to her character. Hence, "generic waifu bait."

From her lore I don't see her affected by any kind of corruption, she just would want to redeem others but finds herself smiting them down because the ugly truth she has seen is that not every1 is redeemable.

She isn't mentally scarred by evil per se, she is scarred because not even the purest form of justice and virtue can make some evil doers re-think and redeem themselves, and thus they have to be executed.

War always affect our spirit. But anyway, this might mean a lot or nothing, it depends on how she reacts to it. She's not likely to fall into depression for example, she might be feel sad about the ones she has to cast judgement upon or go into a zealous rampage.

I honestly hope for the first as it would display a kind of personality more in line with a pure spirit rather than having, again, a fanatic.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but she's been in war for thousands of years. She's immortal lol Thousands of years of war will have SOME kinda affect, no matter how strong she could be mentally.

Yeah. We don't need someone gone insane, but if you looked at my reference it's quite simple to create someone who's affected by war without showing that they were affected by war.

You know she can still be beautiful but toned and war worn right?

Just because she doesnt have any outstanding scars wont make her a soft gentle lady all of a sudden.

Tough looking eyes with a determined or somewhat weary expression, would still look nice if the person doing it has a "good" appearance, beauty is like that.

But it would still be very different from a femme fatale play like what MF has got rolling in her little stories, or the almost instinctual seduction Ahri starts pulling when "hungry".

No scars, healthy if not soft pure skin for her image as a "holy" one would still work, the greatest deal would instead lay with how her eyes look and her expression.

No compromise on the armor for the base skin though, or riot ensures.
