Legit even Overwatch has one, and League is WAY older and more widely played than that, there's no excuse to not at least WORK on one.

Except that there's no actual service within the client to LFG. If you are forcing your customers to LEAVE your establishment to get something essential, you run a high risk they may not come back in. It's like a convention not serving food, drinks, or snacks. You want people to stay so you can retain them. Making people leave the client to LFG means they could get distracted by other games, youtube, or whatever else the internet has to offer.

This is counterproductive. Riot doesn't want people to socialize outside of their service. The only alternative THEY own is the boards, and even then, their own employees prefer to communicate with people via Twitter and Reddit, thus causing more players to also prefer to communicate there as well.
So all in all, if Riot is requiring people to leave the client to find others, most players will go to Discord or Reddit or somewhere else - and again, if people are having to leave, there's the risk they won't return.
The whole reason Riot added in client voice chat was to allow players to use it instead of relying on Discord or TeamSpeak or whatnot, and thus rely on them for their in game needs. So no, nothing about Riot's inability or outright refusal to add an LFG in the client is logical or planned by them to encourage players to socialize.

oleander it isn't, because by allowing outside services, you reach wider auditory - unless it is a competitor (fb x twitter)
if you close your customers in your own services, sooner or later they will feel suffocated, or you will simply die by time - guy, to put it simple, doesn't league thrive on fan creations?
moreover - you want to interact in more daily activities and interests of the playerbase - youtube, facebook, twitter, reddit, images (clean your mind eho! ..), music, discord, ofc twitch, sports (esports), tyler1, and certainly other ones as well!
and.. i don't think these were the reasons for the in-game voice chat, but rather for convenience and because.. it feels off to not have a voice chat. Like wow, it has been so many years they depended on ventrilo, raidcall, etc.. still, it is now available in-game as well :p

I mean, yeah, that's exactly because the mission is hard to organize and a bit silly that it only gives you an icon. You manage to get it, you get a shiny icon for bragging rights. You don't, well, doesn't really matter, it's just an icon.
What would you want them to do? Give a gemstone skin for free for doing a joke mission?

Datomix2 votesTo finish the missions I created a custom game looking for people to do the mission (title: 5 man premade for bots) and got 4 people within 10 minutes. Then I friended them and added them to the co-op vs. ai lobby.

Personally, I had no problems finding 5 people who wanted to lose a game of AI - we even liked it so much, we went ahead and lost 2 more AI games for good measure, making sure to act like Vayne and Riven mains, and flaming the bots non-stop.

Half the players of every team being toxic, the ones that aren't toxic are (objectively) bad players (ty matchmaking), no amount of personal effort affects the outcome of matchmaking lottery, and then there's a complete lack of cooperation within my experienced playerbase?
Pass. Guess that's another mission icon I don't get. Hope things are better for everyone else, though.

This is how I've completed a majority of 5-Man Team-Based events.

Took about 20 mins to find people looking to complete the same missions and then it all went by smooth and quickly once we were in the lobby together.
Don't know whats the problem in putting a minimal amount of effort to gather 4 people who are in the exact same situation as you.

Been doing that since the starguardian Invasion game mode and had zero issues with premade missions since.
