[Kit Concept] AD Caster Passive

So, the Discussion over about AD Support Itemization brought about some interesting discussion on how exactly an AD Support would work. I kinda branched that out and decided to Look at AD champs in general, and also AP champs, and what set them apart, and what was keeping a true AD caster from existing, Not just becoming either a fighter or an assassin or marksman.

So, as I thought, I realized the biggest thing was that it was the Champion's Auto attacks that really made the difference.

AD Champions naturally scale well because they have a 1.0 AD spell that has a decreasing cooldown per level and scales with any AD they purchase to enhance their main abilities. (Their autos) AP champs don't have this luxury because their Autos stay week throughout the game unless they buy a Liche bane, and even then, that AA enhancement is limited by their spell cooldowns and the 2 second cooldown for lichbane procs.

So, The first issue for an AD caster is their Autos. If they don't have a way to limit their autos, they won't have any downsides while their abilities are on cooldown, and they can last hit increasingly easily without expending as much resources (this is the problem with Zed, he's essentially resourceless, and because he's AD, his autos + abilities mean he has super easy effective waveclear without any downsides)

So, in order for an AD Caster kit to work and actually have the same utility and damage levels as an AP caster, their needs to be some form of limitation to their Auto attacks. Therefore, Here is my AD Caster passive: I am going to avoid numbers because those generally are what get's fine tuned.

AD CASTER PASSIVE: Passive: This champs Auto attacks deal Base+X/lvl + (.5 AP) magic damage instead of scaling with his AD and cannot crit, but can apply sheen (he deals damage to towers equal to 60% of his total attack damage). his Abilities can critically strike dealing bonus damage equal to half his crit damage (similar to how yasuo's crits do 190% damage instead of 200%, His abilities would do 150% damage instead of double, and if he had IE, he'd do 175% damage with his abilities when they crit instead of 150%). Furthermore, he gains CDR equal to .25 of his bonus AS (opposite of what Azir gets, Azir gets AS based on his CDR) (Optional, Lifesteal is converted to an equal amount of spell vamp)

Basically, what this passive allows, is for a champion to actually build AD items and gain full benefits for his abilties and allowing his abilities to have strong utility without his auto attacks being over powered as would happen. By transforming AS into CDR (Albeit at a very reduced amount), The passive allows the person to take advantage of items like Zephyr and Phantom Dancer by allowing them to actually take advantage of the stats those items provide. The other thing is, that by giving his abilities the power to scale with critical chance, it makes up for the fact that there is no item that increases AD like Rabadon's does AP. Also, by allowing his autos to apply sheen, it still means that having a high base AD would be okay, since it would help out his itemization by allowing items like IBG or Tri-force to still be valid items and optional, like lichbane is on AP casters.

Overall, this would allow for a champion to be a true AD caster or even an AD support, Simply because Riot doesn't have to worry about that champions Auto attacks being overwealming.

I have to say... I like this idea a lot. I recently posted an idea for a new champ this might work well on. I'd have to retool his kit a bit but I think it can work... What say you?

So while i haven't thrown around the idea of an AD support role, i have brought up this point many times on the forms. Specifically that AD casters have an inherent tool which AP champions lack with a few notable exceptions. There is another point about AD vs AP champions, in that building AD (and being melee more so) gives you access more purchase in lane sustain. Lifesteal's insane levels of healing with even just a little bit of AD (say 130) is insane. Also the amounts which the stat is available on items is massive, when you consider it works on every auto attack, which when clearing a lane, might take you between 21-9 auto attacks (note i'm ignoring crit strike because the effective healing doesn't change).
