I just had a game that was so fucking bonkers because it was so imbalanced.

2 fucking diamonds and a plat (one of whom is almost master tier) VS NOTHING BUT GOLDS AND A SILVER.

THIS SHOULD NEVER FUCKING HAPPEN. NEVER. NOT IN NORMALS, NOT IN RANKED. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

THEY ROFLSTOMPED US BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A MALPHITE WHO BUILT NOTHING BUT ARMOR, THEY HAD A FUCKING VAYNE.

I'm rightfully pissed because I got matched against a diamond 5. I wanted to play mid so I could hopefully work on getting Rank 6 on veigar. But no, I had to get my game ruined because matchmaking decided, FUCK IT, I'LL PIT 5 golds and a silver vs A DIAMOND, A MASTER TIER, AND A PLAT.

ur playing normals, their elo doesn't even matter because it averages the mmr from both sides.

Even when I was still in bronze, I usually got matched with gold-plat in normals. Looked funny on lolnexus but wasn't really unbalanced.

sadly for you, normal MMR and ranked MMR are completely separate. So a lot of players who are high ranked haven't played many normals (especially if it's a smurf or second account) so... It's just what happens.

There's not really much Riot can do aside from make ranked MMR effect normal MMR, but that just doesn't seem right as it would make practicing really difficult for a ranked player (since they'd be placed against other very high skilled players even while playing an off-role or practicing something).

I agree, this is getting very out of hand. I think it has something to due with long DQ Que times, I often wait 2-4 minutes for Jg/ Support roles to get in game. Once I am in, and I lolnexus the game there is often a very large rank difference. I am usually on the wrong side of it like your screenshot. One of my most recent games was with 2 players <lvl 30 and 3 gold (my team) against a plat, gold, and diamond team. I think they were a 4 man while I was solo. I honestly have no idea how riot can justify that outrageous mmr difference, while pitting me against a premade, while still giving me a shitty que time. (i understand 4 mins is short next to high diamond, but 4mins to still get support is frustrating when I am sick of solo q as a support)

Basically DQ couldn't find a fair match for these imbalanced premade, so the system widen the acceptable range of mmr difderence and cause broken matches.

You're missing the idea here.

Everyone under Master tier is fucking garbage.

Also, this legitimately CAN'T happen in ranked. Not to this extent.

If you lose enough games like this, the MMR system will fix you.

If this is a normal game i think its fair because the only reason you got matched with the diamond is because they've lost enough games to match your mmr

It's obviously a normal, and the only reason i can see for this is that they were all queue'd together, and that it was hard for match making to find them an okay set of opponents.

Would you rather wait an extra 20 minutes for a good fair-ish game, or get into a game like this.
