Maxton is a tricky Tank/Mage hybrid that can go Top Lane, Middle Lane, or even Support due to his spells allowing him to manipulate his enemies and easily defend himself. While he is a Tank, he relies heavily on his abilities to ensure he doesn't die in a fight.

LORE Maxton, a celestial born among the stars, descended to Runeterra one day to fill his role of studying the lives and events of the living beings of the universe and trying to see if there was still progress of life. As long as life progressed and went full cycle, he would continue to remain and study. However, as time passed, he began to slowly become very bored and slightly insane, watching the lives of beings come and go and making sure that those beings did eventually die off. He made sure they had their run, but this eventually bored him. What was the point of watching the inevitable? He eventually decided that he just didn't want to fill his role that he had set out to do anymore, even though that was his job in the universe. In an act of rebellions, he defied the universe and entered the physical plane of Runeterra, taking the rotting corpse of a body and flowing some life through it to properly support him. The universe, angered at his leave, tried to drag him out of the physical plane of existence. However, little did it know that Maxton was made too powerful for the universe to properly put aside enough power to perform such a feat as to return Maxton to his proper job. Maxton's absence did not just happen and have no side effects however. It was due to his leave that the events that would eventually come to plague the seas came into existence: The Shadow Isles and, therefore, The Black Mist. In modern day, the universe has tried to replace Maxton with another being, but Maxton himself still resides and wanders in Runeterra. He now lives in his usual spot, being Piltover, playing with the minds of inventors with his time and space defying tricks in order to entertain himself. However, this isn't to say that he is evil. Quite the opposite actually. Maxton tries to make sure as little people that are around him die. This has caused him to be targeted by many criminal groups, but it should be obvious who wins that fight. This has made him, as a side effect, a target of the law due to his strange and reckless actions to prevent criminal groups from harming him. He finds this all the more fun currently, running from the law is still more fun than spending decades watching nothing but endless death. In his own words, "You know, you can't really sit around and watch thousands of lives come and ho. One eventually wants to step in and see what would happen if, instead of the thief stealing the purse and killing the woman, he instead was sent into a never ending cycle of time and forced to learn his lessons. Hehe." Now being chased by the law, the universe, and any other celestial beings that would like to please the universe, Maxton has finally found himself entertained. You know its gonna be a wild ride when the entire universe and its inhabitants want to capture you. At least, hehe, that's the thought I keep telling myself. You know, writing your own lore sure is fun. Writing the lore of others... neh. Who would want to do that? No fun.

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/1/1a/Ability_mage_timewarp.png/revision/latest?cb=20100910142808 Passive- Undo Events Innate: Upon taking fatal damage, Maxton will instead become immune to damage for 3.5 seconds and make his killer invulnerable and in stasis during that time. He will mock and applaud them for trying before teleporting himself and the killer back in time 10 seconds before they dealt the killing blow, Maxton restoring any health and mana lost within the last 10 seconds and his killer regaining 50/35/20% of any health and mana lost over that time as a gift for almost being successful in killing him. The locations to where Maxton and his killer will teleport back in time to are also marked, Maxton's location being blue and his killer's being red. This can only happen once every 300/275/250 seconds. Levels- 1/9/18

http://wow.zamimg.com/images/wow/icons/large/spell_shadow_unholyfrenzy.jpg Ability 1- Foresight Passive: Maxton can see into the future to try and predict how to dodge his enemy's attacks, causing him to dodge one basic attack that comes at him after 7/6/5/4/3 basic attacks have already hit him. Once this happens, the counter does not restart until 1 second after this passive has been triggered. Active: Maxton gains a Spell Shield for 2.5 seconds that nullifies the next ability that hits him and causes him to punish the target for trying, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 magic damage plus 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% (+2% per 100 AP) of the damage that the ability would have done to Maxton before reductions as extra magic damage if the spell would deal damage to Maxton. Cost: 55/65/75/85/95 mana Cool Down: 16/15/14/13/12 sec.

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100910142812/wowwiki/images/e/e1/Ability_priest_shadowyapparition.png Ability 2- Alternate Path Active: Maxton selects the target enemy champion and becomes untargetable for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds after channeling for 0.5 seconds. He will then teleport to where the selected enemy champion was 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds earlier and be able to create a new path of movement for the select enemy champion to follow with his own movement. Once Maxton becomes targetable again, he will teleport back to where he cast Alternate Path and the enemy champion that he targeted will be forced to complete the path of movement Maxton made for them while he was untargetable. Once they have completed the path, they will teleport back to where they were before they were forced to complete Maxton's path and take 5/6/7/8/9% (+1% per 100 AP) of their missing health as magic damage, dealing a minimum of 25 magic damage. If the enemy champion becomes immune to crowd control or removes all crowd control effects from themselves while completing Maxton's path, they will instantly teleport back to where they were before being forced to take the path and instantly take the magic damage of this ability. Cost: 90 mana Cool Down: 20/19.5/19/18.5/18 sec. Select Range: 225

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/9/9b/Spell_shadow_shadowward.png/revision/latest?cb=20060930195737 Ability 3- Trick in Reality Active: Maxton marks his current location for up to 6/8/10/12/14 seconds. Within those 6/8/10/12/14 seconds, he can reactivate this ability to teleport himself to that location after a 1.25 second delay, during which he cannot cast spells or move. This can be interrupted with crowd control. The enemy cannot see where Maxton marked unless they saw him mark his location. The first and second part of this ability can be cast while Maxton is untargetable from Alternate Path, but will not teleport Maxton to his marked location until he becomes targetable again and teleports back to where he was when he first cast Alternate Path. Casting the first part of this spell during Alternate Path also increases the mana cost by 10. Upon teleporting back, all enemies around Maxton's starting and ending locations take 90/130/170/210/250 (+65% AP) magic damage and are silenced for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds. The cool down for this ability does not start until Maxton has successfully teleported back or the duration of the mark runs out. This cannot damage the same enemy unit more than once. Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 mana Cool Down: 12/11/10/9/8 sec. Teleport Damage Range: 350

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/9/9a/Spell_arcane_prismaticcloak.png/revision/latest?cb=20070113170915 Ultimate- Celestial Advantage Active: After a 1.5 second delay of laughing at his target, Maxton cheats in order to try and win the fight, causing the target enemy champion to temporarily return back to the state they were in 3/5/7 levels ago, losing any base stats gained from those levels and reverting any ability levels gained during that time, but not making them unable to rank up abilities with stored rank up points, only reducing any ranks gained during the removed levels. They cannot add ranks to an ability that, once this effect wears off, would return to max rank, however. This can reduce the enemy to a minimum of Level 3. Abilities cannot be reduced below Rank 1 from this. If the enemy champion has less health than what was gained from the removed levels, this will kill them. This lasts for 7 seconds on the target before returning their levels lost to them, restoring health and mana to them equal to the amount lost from the level loss. The EXP needed to level up and the current amount of experience in the selected enemy champion's experience bar remains unchanged by this ability. Cost: 100/150/200 mana Cool Down: 155/150/145 sec. Range: 750

TIPS Playing as Maxton

  • Maxton is someone who probably won't be the one to actually kill of an enemy (although he can be if built around it), instead more toying with his enemies and forcing them into bad situations either through baiting them into a bad situation or directly forcing them to walk into a bad one. This is all very possible to do since Maxton is actually very good at being able to avoid damage.
  • Alternate Path is an extremely powerful spell, but is very hard to pull off due to Maxton's slow movement speed and it's very short selection range, forcing Maxton to be nearly right beside the enemy in order to use it. Using Trick in Reality prior to Alternate Path can surprise Maxton's enemies when he teleports right beside them and instantly uses Alternate Path. However, it may be wise to simply ambush the enemy and use Trick in Reality during Alternate Path to provide Maxton with a viable escape option or easy follow up on Alternate Path.
  • Foresight is a spell that is extremely rewarding to rank up throughout the game, but Maxton's other spells are also very powerful, so it can be hard to choose which spell to level first. If you were to take my advice, Foresight is your best bet against ranged attackers, Alternate Path is your best bet against squishy melee attackers, and Trick in Reality is best against more tank heavy melee attackers.

Playing against Maxton

  • Foresight may seem to nullify your hopes of killing Maxton, but it should be noted that if you simply wait out the Spell Shield from it, Maxton won't be able to reduce nearly as much damage as normal and, by default, Maxton won't be able to do much damage to punish you for waiting it out. Just stay out of Melee Range from him so he can't catch you off guard with Alternate path.
  • Alternate Path is one of the most powerful crowd control effects in the game. It is very highly advised to build items or get Summoner Spells that can remove crowd control from your character since these effects will make Alternate Path impact your fight against Maxton much less.
  • Celestial Advantage can be very annoying to play against but it should be noted that it can actually be easily avoided by buying items that nullify spells or can remove debuffs from yourself since Maxton does not have any reliable ways to remove a spell shield or bait out such an item effect from his targets. It should also be noted that, if you can afford to do so, it might be a good idea to store 1-2 level ups so that you can use them once you are affected by Celestial Advantage to reduce it's effects by a large amount due to you being able to add ability ranks to spells that have lost any ranks as well as make those rank up points be unable to be removed from your character.

Playing with Maxton

  • It is important to pay attention to the path Maxton lays out for an enemy with Alternate Path. Capitalize on this to focus down the target while they move along the path to not only deal free damage to the enemy, but also increase the missing health damage they will take after teleporting back to their original location.
  • Enemies affected by Celestial Advantage cannot have their ability ranks reduced below Rank 1, so an enemy at Level 6 will still have their ultimate when affected by Celestial Advantage despite being reduced to a lower level than Level 6. Remember this when you see their level get reduced and are planning on trying to kill them.
  • It is important to try and kill any target that is trying to kill Maxton as quick as possible since, if Maxton dies, while Maxton will not die, his killer will still be rewarded for killing him by restoring a percentage of their health and mana lost over a set time and teleporting them back 10 seconds ago, most likely to a safe position. It is important to know that this location will be marked and there is a large delay before Maxton and his killer teleport back to where they were, so make use of this time to prepare to finish the job and kill Maxton's would be killer.
