3rd time my "Favorite champ skin" a VU or texture update has thrown completely into the gutter

First Garen's dark skin became nothing but fuzzy shoulder pads, then Karthus's Reaper skin became unworthy of the title.

Now, Obsidian Malphite is being turned into what can only be described as coal covered in tomato sauce. This "upgrade" is disgracefully bad and once again turns what I considered a best skin into gutter trash I'd be ashamed to even select.

Compared to current Obsidian Malphite I don't even understand if the texture artist realized they were working on the same skin. Where's the shiny black polished rock? Where's the molten rock coursing through his veins to seriously ruin your day? Where's the intimidation factor at all?!

If this goes through I'd demand a refund, not that'll do anything since Riot refuses to do those anymore. Seriously, texture updates are supposed to be an improvement, this is just sad.
