Why almost all mages are either girls or magical creatures?

We have so many champions, but when it comes to choosing a mage from the male roster we have basically an unstable teenager Ekko and an old man Zilean. Thats basically it, everything else is either some sort of spirits or girls. I gues there is also Vlad and Swain but they are terribly outdated and barely even considered midlaners. Ad midlaners have so many badass human male characters, Yasuo, Zed, Talon, Kayn, Gangplank both lore wise and gameplay wise. Im a diehard human champion player and it upsets me that out of 130+ champion roster there is not a single mage that I could connect to and want to master/ main.

Viktor Viktor is male and human :) TwistedFate Twisted fate is male and human :P Malzahar is male AND human. His power comes from the void...Donnoe whether he is possessed or something, but he's human :D Xerath Xerath is male, and he was human...he may not have a human body anymore, but he was very much humanoid before he ascended... Ziggs Ziggs is male...and not a spirit, though if you REALLY want a human then I guess this doesn't count. Same goes for Veigar Veigar and Rumble Rumble

All in all I think there are many male mages...who are also human (or at least mortal) :P Although new champions are always welcome ^^ If you have an idea, I'm happy to hear it :D

Problem with mages versus AD midlaners is weapons used, and thus theme. AD regularly uses their weapons so you can base the character's theme around it (i.e. shuriken > ninja). Mages just use magic which in the end is just color orbs and particle effects, so it is very hard to make a unique human theme for multiple ones. Hence why there is a tendency to make them spirits, only partially humanoid, etc to make the character more interesting and actually explain why they are a mage.

Vladimir Ezreal Swain Ryze Malzahar riot likes to be more creative in deviating from typical human designs when it comes to male champions. i don't like it but that's just how most media is. (i only don't like it because they don't do the same for female champions. all we really have is reksai and anivia) lore wise these are all humans (even brand) that have magical abilities (i know you mentioned vlad and swain, though i'm only considering lore, not gameplay)

there is an unexplored young mage theme. i want to play as a plain old dude in a wizard hat that throws fireballs and lightning bolts, at least once

Why did it take them so long to stop making supports all be peace loving semi-nude women or pixie lolis? Most games still stick to those rules.
