I like to imagine she doesn't actually have a sister. Her sister is actually an imaginary friend of hers, that she talks to just like her weapons.

Ghostcrawler once let slip that Vi was her sister after years of rumours but he came out straight after saying that isn't the case as he wasn't up to date on lore, he just presumed and thought it was the case.
