Just an idea. Sometimes seeing isn't enough. Sometimes people like to try things out before they buy it. For a week, if you own a champion, one of the skins are free to try out that week. Then if someone likes they buy it.
I think this would be better if when choosing a free skin, only you see it; the rest of the team sees the base skin.

Yeah and those mods slow down your gaming experience.
