(Champion Concept) Rasoni, the Underlord of Wealth
LORE Rasoni, like many others who reside in Piltover, were not originally from the great City of Progress. Rasoni's family came from Shurima, a land to the south that brings a constant flow of gold into Piltover. Rasoni's family were the first to capitalize on this stream of gold and they gained a tremendous amount of wealth from it. Over a decade, his family became a major power in Piltover and they learned the price that came with wealth. Many assassins and jealous competitors within Piltover thought it wise to attempt to kill the family in order to gain the riches for themselves. These assassination attempts were unsuccessful until, one day, a mysterious figure claiming to be from Zaun entered the headquarters of the family undetected. All of Rasoni's family were butchered in their beds... that is, except for him. When the assassin entered his room, Rasoni was still awake, reading a book about the benefits of gold beyond wealth through alchemy. Immediately alerted when his door began to open despite him telling his loyal bodyguards to not enter his quarters, Rasoni prepared himself for assault. When the assassin entered the room and came into view, Rasoni greeted them with a smile. All other assassins he had fought were nothing but peasants with a blade to him, so he did not feel threatened. This underestimation was a near fatal mistake. The assassin quickly darted across the room towards Rasoni before drawing a blade that glowed like the brightest sapphire Rasoni had ever seen. In what seemed like an instant, the assassin buried her blade into Rasoni's stomach. The assassin's mistake was thinking this would be enough to kill or even stun Rasoni, as he quickly grabbed the assassin by the throat and began to choke them. Slicing the blade right and left, the assassin attempted to free themselves from Rasoni's grasp. However, the fight ended with Rasoni as the victor. With a quick flick of his other hand, Rasoni decapitated the assassin, sending their head to the side of his bed. The fight was over for the assassin, but not for Rasoni. With several cuts all across his body and a gaping slash in his stomach, Rasoni slowly limped to the nearest medical facility. Surprised he had gotten this far, the doctors inside got to work. The sapphire blade the assassin had used was fused with magic that wold harden the blood it touched into sapphire. With no cure available to them, the doctors were about to tell Rasoni the grim news when a cloaked man entered the facility. He told the doctors to step aside and carried Rasoni across the city to his workshop. There, he went to work. The sun began to rise over the horizon and most thought that Rasoni's family had been wiped out. However, when the business partners of the company began a meeting the next day to decided on their next course of action, Rasoni himself entered the meeting, albeit a little late. The men inside gazed at him with mixed feelings of dread, shock, awe, and confusion. The man before them had changed over the course of one night and they had no idea how until he explained it all to them. Rasoni's body had turned a shade of grey and all of his cuts he had received the previous night now glowed blue. Even his eyes glowed blue. His entire bloodstream had been transformed into sapphire, leaving the men extremely confused and fearful of what was before them. He explained that he was not exactly human anymore. It appears the man Rasoni had bought the book he had been reading the night before had actually planted a camera into the book itself to allow him to spy on Rasoni. However, this was not to try and make an attempt at his life or to discover any secrets. It was to see Rasoni's reaction upon reading the book, which he discovered was filled with excitement and curiosity. When the man had seen Rasoni assaulted by the assassin, he went to work to find him and bring him back to his workshop to change Rasoni for the better. Rasoni's heart had been replaced with a machine that used magic to transform gold into a form of energy that could support life. Along with some other modifications, Rasoni not only lived through the transformation of the rest of his insides into sapphire, but was enhanced. His body had never been stronger and his mental capabilities had never been so vast. Whatever the gold inside Rasoni's body was doing to him, it made him practically superhuman. Now being the only remaining member of his family, the new Rasoni went to work. After a short three years, Rasoni practically controlled over half of Piltover itself from below. After obtaining a new site for his headquarters at the very top of the city of Zaun, Rasoni was the man you went to if you had any issues that had anything to do with gold. The flow of wealth was under his control and, as the leading city in all of Runeterra in trade, that meant that Rasoni practically controlled the flow of majority of the world's gold. No matter what banner you fought for, Rasoni had one way or another of influencing you and your nation. While many tried to stop this "dictatorship from the shadows" so to speak, Rasoni's enhanced body proved too strong for anyone so far to even scratch. No more did most nations think entirely about the technologies available in Piltover when thinking of the City of Progress. Now, they also thought about the gold that ran through the city and the potential for trade. With that thought, Rasoni was always present. His shrouded face loomed now over the City of Progress. His city. http://www.thebagofloot.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Gonti-Lord-of-Luxury-Kaladesh-Art.jpg

QUOTES
Upon Selection
- "Do not mistake this as any sort of friendship, but I must say I agree with this decision."
Upon Being Banned
- "Smart move. I guess I'll be placing bets then."
Starting the Game
- "After having to suffer through the fumes of Zaun, I must say, I delight in the few moments in my life where I can roam free into the wilderness."
- "And I suppose the enemy team believes themselves to be fair competition? How laughable."
- "I think I'll drink to this day down the road."
- "So, how many of you are dumb enough to question who I am?"
- "My family will be remembered. That's not a possibility."
Moving
- "You'd think by now I would have gotten some form of vehicle for these kinds of situations. Hmm, it's on the list."
- "Oh, I can smell their arrogance. It's vile."
- "A mind for money? I don't think you know how literal that is to me."
- "I have to talk to the good doctor again. Perhaps he has found a way to turn gold into a nice chocolate delight. Now that would be great."
- "Remember, I can make you do whatever I want too."
- "It's nice to take a break from business. Especially when that break involves punching some sense into somebody."
- "Hmm, why can't my city be this beautiful."
- "I guess it's time to get violent. How fun."
- "Look, you just point me where to go and I will do what needs to be done. This all must be far too complicated for your little brain to understand so don't worry."
- "The last time I ventured out of HQ, someone tried to break my hand. His neck made for a nice workout."
- "All this running makes me hungry. Anyone have a spare gold bar?"
- "You know, I eat the gold I get, but where does everyone else put their gold? I don't see any bags, pockets, or packs. Where do they put all that gold?"
- "Should have stretched before this."
- "It's been a while since I've broken a few bones. Should be fun."
- "Hopefully this will be a challenge. Life has been so lax as of late."
- "Hear that? I'm hungry. Where's some gold?"
- "I can't believe they paired me up with this team of peasants."
- "I really do enjoy moments like these. Moments right before I break someone's neck."
- "Life lesson: if people want your head on a spike, always carry a gun. I know that now."
- "Time to get to work."
Attacking
- "I think you deserve better than the gun."
- "You should be flattered to know I myself am here to kill you and not some joke of an assassin."
- "I would have put a bounty on your head, but where's the fun in that."
- "Thank goodness, my hand was about to fall asleep."
- "I have blessed you with my presence. Pay up."
- "They told me your body explodes with gold when you die. I had to see that."
- "I was about to kill you with a gun, but I decided you did not deserve such a fate."
- "Stand aside peasants. This one's mine."
- "I think I'll break your spine instead of the usual decapitation. Adds some variety."
- "I think now would be the best time for you to die."
- "sniff Yeah, he's got some gold."
- "yawn I was about to fall asleep from boredom."
- "They say my fist is made of gold. Perhaps you could tell me why they say this."
- "I don't care where you're from, I'll punch you in the face."
- "I don't take kindly to defiance little bug."
- "You misunderstand. All are beneath me and it will stay that way until I die, which is probably never."
- "A nice little workout for my arms I suppose."
Casting Good Business On an Ally
- "Well done servant. Here, have some spare change."
- "You've performed well enough. Don't go begging for more now."
- "I suppose you've earned this, somehow or another."
- "Remember who gave you this gold peasant."
- "I guess you've done well enough."
- "Trust me, this will come back to my hand someday."
- "You believe yourself to deserve some kind of reward? Fine, but consider this an act of charity."
- "Be thankful. I don't believe in giving out money to baboons."
- "Oh well, I was about to be overflowing with the stuff anyways."
- "Some coins for your services."
- "I guess you were useful. Here, have a little bit of payment."
- "Thank goodness you were here. We were running low on goons asking for gold."
- "Fine, have a little bit of my spare change."
Casting Hextech Firearm
- "A proper execution."
- "Say hello to the rest for me."
- "Now look what you've done. These rounds are quite expensive."
- "...Yes, I shot them. Do you have an issue with that?"
- "Instant death I hope."
- "I'd rather you die as far away from me as possible."
- "Oh, hello."
- "Goodbye, little baboon."
Casting Underlord of Wealth
- "All legendary artifacts are available to me."
- "Limitless possibilities."
- "My cup runneth over."
- "Everything MUST go."
- "Unlimited power, all because of gold."
- "Money runs the world. It is true."
Purchasing an Item
- "Ah yes, a valuable trinket. Great."
- "Oh yeah, I remember when this belonged to me."
- "This thing seems to sell well. It keeps coming back to me."
- "I guess it's gone full rotation so to speak."
- "Gold brings with itself a lot of power. Trust me, I'd die without it."
"Doran's Blade, ah yes. A famous blade among novices."
"Doran's Shield. I remember this shield. I broke someone's head with it in the marketplace after they tried to attack me. Gotta say, it did it's job and more."
"Doran's Ring. A trinket used by most mages in-training. Gotta say, unlike most other stereotypical rich people, I don't enjoy having fifty thousand rings on my hand."
"Cull. Quite a simple yet accurate name. Probably my favorite of the lesser items sold."
"Relic Shield. I heard some expected this to put Doran's Shield out of business. And they were correct."
"Ancient Coin. They say my family came from Shurima. Unfortunately, I don't really desire to go there. Far too hot. My skin is dark enough as is."
"So what? Are these supposed to make run faster? How does that work? Boots of Speed. Pfft."
"Ionian Boots of Lucidity. Are these boots even canon anymore?"
"Ninja Tabis. What a dumb name for an item used to make you more durable. I guess Shen could use these or something, he sucks at being a ninja anyways."
"Sightstone? That's disgusting. Who put an eyeball in this rock?"
"Eye of Equinox. Not going to lie, I don't even know what equinox means."
"Blade of the Ruined King. This item seems to be different every time I look at it."
"Black Cleaver. I wonder, does Noxus want this back? I heard they were getting decimated by a giant, anti-magic colossus."
"Knight's Vow. Not going to lie, once, when I had owned this item, I pretended to be one of those fancy knights in Demacia. Got all high and mighty and what not."
"Iceborn Gauntlet. One question. How does this not give the user's hand frostbite instantly?"
"Locket of the Iron Solari. I remember this trinket. I had bought it from that old guy in the marketplace when, suddenly, some weirdo started running at me screaming "Heretic! Heretic!" Pretty soon he wasn't screaming at all. He was at the bottom of Zaun."
"Trinity Force. Tons of damage."
"Dead Man's Plate. This is one of few items that I don't really wish to own for a long time. Can you guess why?"
"Guinsoo's Rageblade. I met Guinsoo once. He was very angry. Always yelling about how balance was done back in the old days. The hell is that?"
"Frost Queen's Claim. Somehow, it turns pain into money. I don't understand how that works, but I'll take it. I'll ask the good doctor about it later."
Taunt
- "You? Beat me? Do you know who I am?"
- "Oh please, this must be a joke."
- "An opponent? I see a dead body."
- "I've seen fisherman more scary than you. You'd be surprised what they can do with a fishing pole."
- "You know, I don't take kindly to jokes. Who placed me so low in rankings as to pair me up with this disgrace?"
"If only they knew me like you do Blitzcrank. I'm not such a bad guy."
"Oh, its' you. Have you come to arrest me again? How many times has that worked?"
"Oh look, it's Ms. Tea and Cupcakes. Oh no."
"Blah blah blah, fancy lady stuff. Do you ever stop talking?"
"Remember, Camille, what happened last time you threatened me. Didn't end well did it?"
"Ah, Ekko. Remember, you need anything, just ask me. I still owe for that one time."
"Tell me Ekko, how must would it cost for you to give me that nice contraption? I could give you anything. I could practically cure Zaun if that's what it took."
"Oh, you're looting from tombs in Shurima? How original."
"Brains over brawn? I've got both old man."
"How much for your latest invention little man?"
"Ah, yes, the spirit of the wind. Come, my armpits are a little sweaty."
"Oh look, the boy who cried machine."
"Piltover's hero! Hahahahaaa! That's a good joke."
"Not gonna lie, a little too crazy for my tastes."
"I could give you what you desire, Orianna. Just ask and be ready to pay."
"What are gonna do, burn me? Not sure how sapphire holds up against heat, but I'm pretty sure that isn't gonna work."
"You know, the good doctor spoke of you. He wants to meet you one day Singed. He has an offer."
"You desire immortality? I've got someone who can help you with that."
"I think I killed a relative of yours yesterday. Quite the mess."
"Absolutely disgusting. Get this thing out of my sights."
"I would recommend you to the good doctor, but I think even he would vomit at the sight of you."
"Oh look, the sheriff's mad dog."
"At least your honest. You really do have a one track mind."
"I understand what you offer, but I think you could be going about it a little better. See me sometime Viktor."
"You stay down in Zaun, and I'll stay up in Piltover, dog."
"You set off a bomb in my headquarters and I will personally throw you into Zaun."
"Disgusting bomb rat. Stay away from my gold."
Jokes
- "Let's say, for now, we've struck a bargain."
- "Silver and gold? No, just gold thank you."
- "A Pilty tried to test me once. I ate his gold with chocolate beans and some nice iced tea."
- "Are you expecting some kind of reference? Sorry, I don't wanna get sued, thank you very much."

Thank you for reading! I wanted to make a champion that focused around playing with gold and his team's shop most of all without being extremely feast or famine. I hope I accomplished that as much as possible while still keeping his gold theme intact. Feedback is appreciated for this concept (although I prefer constructive feedback and actual words). And, before you say it, yes, I got this idea from Gonti in Magic the Gathering. He is an interesting dude.
