Juniper, The Forest Guardian

This champion is part of a project im working on to expand the lore and history of the Glade. The Glade is the realm of the Fae, where Lulu was taken by Pix. Not much is known of this world other then that it stands outside of time and is vastly different then Runeterra. I took it upon myself to create a new race and two new factions. For the whole story, take a look at my other Fae champion concepts :D Puck, The Adventurous Sprite, Trystain, The Fae Knight and Gullveig, The Wailing Witch

Name: Juniper Gender: Female Race: Fae (Seelie court) Birthplace: The Fae Lands

Lore: Long has it been told that the Fae Folk have magic older, more mysterious and more powerful then any magic known to man. The entrances to the Fae lands, also known as Glades, are nestled in remote forests all over Valoran. In these forests, the magic of the Fae seeps into the land, the trees and animals. To make sure these forests stay hidden and are protected from from things getting in (and things getting out) a Fae of the Seelie court is assigned to protect the forest by the Seelie king Oberon. Juniper is one of these Fae. She had been assigned a Glade to protect at an early age. She had shown great potential and they trusted her to be worthy of such a task. It went very well for a time, but the young Fae grew restless. More and more she ventured into the mortal world to see what natural beauty it had to offer. And every time she left, she went further away and took longer to come back. After venturing out on one journey that took her 3 whole days in the mortal realm, she came back to find her glade to be destroyed. An evil Fae sorceress had laid waste to the forest and allowed a human mage to enter the Faelands. Feeling distraught and guilty, she turned away and ran. After wandering aimlessly for a few days, she came upon a small town, in the middle of a forest. From its inhabitants she heard word of a foreign power slowly nibbling their way through the forest, ever expanding their territory and destroying the wildlife in the process. Juniper realized something. She could save the forest. With renewed willpower, she fought the mortals back, scaring them away from the forest, never to return again. She had found a new purpose. She might not have been able to protect her Glade…but she will protect the nature of this beautiful world before it would disappear entirely under the unstoppable expansion of the mortal populace. She turned her sights towards the strongest neutral power she knew, The summoners of the League of Legends and struck a bargain. Now, allied with her kin on the field of justice, Juniper seeks to stop the destruction of nature and in the end, protect the Glades like she was meant to do.

Appearance: See picture (its not my art and i could not find the artist. I take no credit or it but only use it as a general idea).

Quotes:

Champion selection: “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better!!”

Moving: “Nature calls!!” “Don’t you love this breeze?” “Beauty is all around us.” “The forests are calling, I must go!!” “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

Attacking: “There is no forgiveness in nature.” “Natures wrath!!!” “You can’t violate natures laws!!” “I am a force of nature!!”

Jokes: “Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'” “Behind every tree….There is ANOTHER tree!!” “Isn’t it beautiful out he-…yuk I think I stepped in something…” “I thought I was pretty cool…Until I realized that plants eat sun and poop air…”

Taunts: “Some people are like clouds…when they disappear, it’s a brighter day!!” “Nature provides exceptions to every rule.”

Passive, Tree Spirit: Juniper will start the game with a Faerie tree seed in her inventory. She will be able to plant this seed on any inhibitor she wishes by activating the item and targeting the friendly inhibitor of choice. From that moment on, a Faerie Tree will grow on the inhibitor, that will spawn a Spriggan in that lane with every wave of minions that passes it. This creature will act like any other caster minion, except that it will heal a champion that falls below 50% health once. If there are no champions to heal, or all champions within range are full health, the heal is saved for when a wounded champion is within range. Healing a champion will consume the Spriggan. As guardians of the forest, Spriggans will instantly prioritizes enemies that target the Faerie Tree or a Faerie Sapling. The Spriggan has the following stats: • 400 health + 50 per level (Max 1250) • 7.5 armor + 2.5 per level (Max 50) • 7.5 magic resist + 2.5 per level (Max 50) • Auto attacks do 20 magic damage + 5% of Junipers AP + 2 per level • Heals 10%/15%/20% (+ 2.5% for every 100 AP) of the targets missing health.

Q, Leafstorm: Cooldown: 10 Mana Cost: 50 Juniper summons a storm of leaves at a target location that deals 60 / 115 / 170 / 225 / 280 (+ 75% AP) magic damage in a 150 unit radius and slows all hit targets by 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% for 3 seconds If Juniper is in the range of a Fearie Tree Sapling, the AoE of this ability is bigger.

W, Fairy Ring: Cooldown: 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 Mana Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 Juniper places a ring of flowers on the ground for 3 seconds that will effect the first champion that enters it and will be consumed in the process. An enemy champion that enters the ring is rooted in place for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds. If the Fairy Ring is placed within the range of a Faerie Tree Sapling, the root becomes a stun. An allied champion that enters the ring will consume it and will gain a 50% boost in movement speed that decays over 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 seconds. If the Fairy Ring is placed within the range of a Faerie Tree Sapling, the ally gains 25% attack speed as well.

E, Root Whip: Cooldown: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 Mana Cost: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 Juniper summons a magical root from her arm that whips forward in a cone, dealing magic damage (70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 + 50% AP) to all hit enemies and knocks them backward. When Juniper uses this ability within the range of a Faerie Tree Sapling this ability roots all enemies for 1 second as well as knocking them back.

R, Reap and Sow: Cooldown: 110 / 95 / 80 **Mana Cost:**100 This ability has 2 different effects Reap: Juniper uses magic to cut off a sapling from the Faerie Tree she has planted. Doing this will change this ability into Sow. Sow: Juniper plants the sapling of the Faerie Tree at a target location. If left untouched by enemy attacks for 5 seconds, the sapling will grow into a tree and grant vision in a radius of 800 units. Allied units in the area will gain 10% / 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20% AP and 100% bonus mana regeneration. Spriggans within the saplings range will also heal 10% more and Junipers other abilities are empowered. Juniper can have multiple Saplings at a time, as long as they are not in each others range and the effects do not stack. They can be destroyed by enemy attacks, will have 50% of Junipers health and resistances and will start replenishing this health after not being hit for 2 seconds.

This champ is an ingenious idea. Maybe a little help from Riot Employees, but over all it is about 79% done. It's a great idea.

i think you must rethink some jokes and some lines por exemple instead of natures warth could be like "Nature speaks tro me " or something like that because soem of those doesn´t feel rigth

I think that was the point. The fae folk isn't exactly nice,so it would make sense for her to be all "happy and all-loving on the outside",but pretty agressive when it comes to combat.

To whom did you reply? :O cus i can't see xP your idea sounds very interesting though :D

Someone who said that you need to rethink some jokes/lines like "natures wrath!",because they didn't feel right.

Anyway I think giving the fae folk a bit of a darker undertone(not outright evil, but rather otherworldly) would fit them rather well. I mean Lulu was basically taken away from them and pretty much lost any connection to everyone she ever knew and she doesn't really seem to care.

The name fae folk even comes from "fair folk",they were called like this because giving them a disrespectful name could easily cost you your head.

I agree :) thats why i gave her those. My idea for the Fae in Valoran is that although they are called Unseelie (dark) and Seelie (light) they both aren't inherently good OR evil... they just do what they feel like. (Queen Mab for instance, banished a powerful Fae witch to the mortal realm...setting her on a rampage...but at least Gullveig wasn't the faeries problem anymore :D). And that otherworldly part is something i am trying to add aswel, with unique mechanics (like Junipers faerie tree and Trystains swords).

Thanks for reacting anyway :D i really like the feedback all of you give me!! it helps me work on the expantion of the Faelands lore XP

So already from reading this girl's kit, I like it.

The passive is quite unique. Really interesting with the ability to send another unit down lane of her choosing. I can see her as a support and honestly I can see her being able to help other lanes. She goes to bot lane but her spriggans go to top or mid. Helping the whole team :D Now keep in mind about something though, sense inhibitors don't exist in dominion you might want to figure out a way to implement it into that game type. Though might want to lower the healing a bit. At least the base healing with that degree of scaling.

The rest of her kit isn't that bad. Though the W does concern me. While it is a good tool for assisting you may want to tone it down. It is a stronger form of an ultimate in the form of Sivir. It shouldn't be stronger then an ult that riot has been constantly nerfing as of late.

thanks for your reply :D I toned down the root/stun to max 2 seconds of either. The bonus movement speed is now 50% and decays faster :P I also changed the healed amount and toned down the scaling of this heal.

Also...Good of you too remind me of other game modes XP...i guess she could place it on the nexus maybe....but i dont know.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback and i will look over my champion accordingly :)

Her ult... it needs damage :( unless it's mean't to be played REALLY supporty so you can't have dmg and you help your allies but if her ult would have dmg she would be viable for mid! nice concept also :)

You make a very fair point :P she does do very little damage in her kit overal. I did plan her to be a support and the ult works great for that however. There are many ults in the game that do not do any damage. Thanks for your comment :) i will review the champion accordingly...maybe even switch out one of her basic abilities for the ult and then make a whole new, and more useful ultimate ability.

i see someone plays Changeling.

i would change the faerie ring visuals from flowers to sporadic mushrooms/toadstools linked with a ring of dark grass.

other than that, i likey.

Haha XP no i can't say ive seen "Changeling"...IS that a series or a film or something? :P

And yea i did have the origional idea of making it fungi (since that what causes the rings) but i didn't think fungi would fit in with her theme (i went with a more flower and plantlike theme) so i made it flowers. I did want to maybe work out a skin with a fungi theme...Like "Fungi Juniper"... or "Fungiper" XP

And thanks for liking it :D

Changeling is a table-top/live-action role-playing game. Basically, you could create this champion as a Changeling character (abilities and all).

but yeah, overall great design.

It should be "YES GIVE ME MOAR FAIRWIES" in a little kid voice as the lore for the Glade.
