THIS CHAMPION IS HEAVILY INSPIRED BY HOTSUMA from the SHINOBI VIDEO GAME
Jin didn't get a very positive response the last time I submitted this idea onto the boards, so I've reworked him and given him another chance. I hope y'all like it!
Jin, the Void Blade
Recently Reworked into "Jin, the Void Blade" for integration purposes.
Lore: Jin is a contract assassin. He has perfected the arts of stealth under the watchful gaze of Zed. Initially picked up as an orphan, much like Zed himself, Jin was found as a young boy with a cursed sword in his hand. Nobody knows the origin of Jin's past or how he came to wield this blade. Jin will not speak of his past. All that is known of Jin is that he harbors a deep vengeance against the Ionian Elders that watch over Ionia. Perhaps they judged one of Jin's loved ones wrongly? Maybe they condemned Jin to a life of solitude? Nobody knows why he harbors such a deep hatred for these diplomats, however, Zed has learned to harness that hatred... giving Jin assassination contracts to carry out for him. Valuable targets that would hinder Zed's plans are eliminated with ease. Jin remains strangely loyal to Zed, it seems almost as if Zed carries the key to Jin's past.
Jin's blade is a "Void Blade", containing the essence of an ancient Void Beast capable of great fury. The ancient beast was defeated, and its essence contained within the blade that slew it. Now, it empowers the blade, granting deadly powers to its wield, but at a price... how long can Jin wield the blade while it eats away at his essence?
Appearance: I would like Jin to mirror Hotsuma but have a purple theme, because his design is soooooo perfect... but we all know that can't be achieved. So I want to highlight parts that I want to keep about Hotsuma that can be applied to Jin.
- The long red (in this case, purple) scarf... Yes, I know it'll be a sort of a disadvantage as he's more visible this way, but its so cool to see the scarf flow behind him!
- The cool mask with glowing blue eyes... Probably won't be able to keep the glowing eyes part, but if a really cool mask could be implemented on him, he would look amazing.
- The kunai attached to his forearms... It looks so cool, and it gives him a sort of excuse to fan out kunai for his W! So, yeah +1 for kunais.
Additional Features: Jin should run like a ninja, sort of forward and with his arms in front of him.
Jin should also fight like a TRUE ninja, having a sort of graceful way in his movement and ability executions.
Jin should be a dark character, he comes from a grim past, so his VO and his overall look should reflect that!
Jin's sword is a normal katana... however, when he activates his Q "Void Fury", it should change, and perhaps maybe the head of a void beast could come forth as he attacks with his Q active.
When Jin executes his R "The Void Beckons..." he should strike a really cool pose... sorta like... lean back with his arms crossed, or sheathe his blade in a cool fashion.
Role: Assassin
Passive: Release the Void Beast When Jin strikes an enemy 3 consecutive times with his Void Blade (basic attacks), the Void Beast comes forth and claims their essence on the third strike, converting a portion of that attack's damage into True Damage.
**True Damage Conversion: **10%/20%/30% of the basic attack's damage.

Q: Void Fury Jin activates his Void Blade causing his next 3 basic attacks within 5 seconds to deal bonus damage. If Jin breaks the stealth from "Enter the Void" with a basic attack that has been modified with this ability, then the basic attack will deal 25% more damage.
Cooldown: 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 seconds Energy Cost: 50/45/40/35/30 energy Bonus Physical Damage: 20/40/60/80/100 (+45% of bonus AD) **Total Physical Damage: **60/120/180/240/300 (+135% of bonus AD)

When Jin activates this ability, his sword transforms into one of the swords above. Credits to Iron-Fox for making such fantastic swords.
W: Enter the Void Jin sinks into the void for 3 seconds, becoming stealthed, during this time Jin gains bonus movement speed and generates energy based on the amount of distance he travels. Additionally, when Jin re-appears or breaks his stealth, he throws a flurry of void-infused kunai around him, dealing physical damage and slowing all targets hit for 2 seconds.
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds **Energy Cost: **125/112.5/100/87.5/75 energy Physical Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+100% of bonus AD) **Slow: **20%/25%/30%/35%/40% Bonus Movement Speed: 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% bonus movement speed at all ranks Bonus Energy Regeneration: 1/2/3/4/5 energy for every 25 units traveled.
**NOTE: **If void step is used to break the stealth, he will gain 18/36/54/75/90 (+energy gained by normal means) energy instantly. This is due to the 450 units that "Void Step" can cover in an instant.
These are some of Zero's kunai from Borderlands 2. Perhaps, they could be of the same fashion, but instead purple?
E: Void Step Jin dashes to a target location. If Jin uses "Void Step" to break the stealth from "Enter the Void" he gains another charge of "Void Step".
**Cooldown: **10/8.5/7/5.5/4 seconds Energy Cost: 50 energy at all ranks Range: 450 units
R: The Void Beckons... Jin condemns his victims to the void. For 5 seconds, Jin's basic attacks will mark enemy champions with "Beckoning" up to a maximum of 3 marks per champion. Jin can re-cast this ability to deal damage to all targets afflicted with "Beckoning". Damage is based on the amounts of "Beckoning" marks that an enemy champion carries. If Jin kills a target with this ability then the cooldown of "Enter the Void" is refreshed.
Passively, when "Void Fury" is active, Jin gains bonus attack speed.
Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds Energy Cost: None **Physical Damage per Stack: **35/70/105 (+100% of bonus AD) **Maximum Damage per Champion: **105/210/315 (+300% of bonus AD) **Bonus Attack Speed if "Three-Headed Demon is Active: **40%/60%/80%
If the target is within a killing threshold with the amount of "Beckoning" stacks on it, then the target will be marked, indicating death upon activation of "The Void Beckons...". (much like Zed's ultimate, Cho'Gath's ultimate, etc.)
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/shinobisega/images/e/e4/Oboro.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/250?cb=20120613200153 When executing "The Void Beckons..." it could look like this.
Overview: Jin is ultimately a high mobility, opportunist assassin, who can dish out a lot of damage with his basic attacks in a small window. His kit is in favor of raw AD above all else, as his scalings are all bonus AD.
**Jin's Q **is his main damage source, although similar to Xin Zhao's Q, it provides no other benefits other than damage, so in turn it deals more damage than Xin Zhao's powerful "Three-Talon Strike". This ability makes Jin especially **vulnerable against a blind, slow, or stun **that would waste the amount of time that this ability remains active. Although, I intended for this ability to do well with "Sword of the Divine", however, that item has since been removed...
Jin's W is his primary source of energy regeneration, initiation, cc, and counterplay. This ability is the most important part of Jin's arsenal. While stealthed, Jin has a couple of choices. He can either break the stealth with a basic attack from his Q to deal more burst damage, OR cover a larger distance with his E and gain a significant amount of energy along with another charge of his E to cover any needed distance. These two choices fall under two categories,** Damage, or Utility**. A good Jin player will be able to choose each choice in the right situation. This ability allows for a great amount of play potential for Jin, as he can use it to escape, initiate, stall, reposition, surprise, etc., while being stealthed.
Jin's E is his gap closer. As essential for every assassin in the game, a gap closer is used to cover a distance in a short period of time. Although shorter than most dashes, Jin can use this on a fairly short cooldown. Pretty basic ability, although its an essential part of Jin's W, giving him an energy boost and an additional gap closer.
Jin's R is his execute._ I developed this ability to mimic Hotsuma's (from the Shinobi video game) "Tate", which allowed Hotsuma to dish out a combo and strike a cool pose while his enemies fell to pieces_. I always thought that it was the coolest thing ever... so I gave a similar ability to Jin. Jin has the choice of dishing out as many stacks of "execute" as he can to deal the most amount of damage to the whole enemy team, OR only applying just enough to kill a target and get the refreshed cooldown of his W. This will often either lead to an amazing PENTAKILL, or a failed assassination attempt, as it forces Jin to stay in battle to get off the stacks of "execute" on his enemy. This is why I gave Jin a maximum of 3 stacks per champion and the passive bonus attack speed with his Q activated (exactly like Sivir) from this ability. Jin can easily get off 3 stacks on a single target, but to get more stacks onto other targets will prove difficult as he has no attack speed buff unless his Q is active, and the cooldown lasts longer than the ability is active, so there's no chance for a double cast.
Design Insight: Jin is heavily influenced by Hotsuma of the Shinobi video game. I also wanted to add an ally to Zed (and make another excuse to make another ninja champion).
Although Jin is heavily influenced by Hotsuma, who wields an evil blade... I made it so that Jin's blade fits Runeterra's Lore thematically. So, I chose the blade to be "Void Blade", as void beings are seen almost like demons in Runeterra's world.
I reworked him into a "Void Ninja" so that I had room to give him new powers. The relationship between Jin and his sword is greatly highlighted and stressed through the renaming of the abilities with a focus on the "Void". I feel like this will make Jin a darker, and more deadly, champion.
Jin is an assassin who needs to choose his fights carefully. Once his abilities are expended, they are expended for quite a while, so the right timing and location for a fight is essential in his gameplay. Knowing when the enemy team is out of cc, or when their carries are out of position is essential to playing Jin, as it is for all assassins.
I had wanted to mimic Hotsuma's capabilities in the form of a champion, this proved quite difficult as Hotsuma was really just a fighter who had the most insane mobility in the old "Shinobi" game. He was also given to burden to steal lives from the enemies to kill by wielding his demon blade or else his own soul would be devoured. I felt that would be too burdensome upon the player, so I opted that out. Hotsuma was also able to perform a "Tate", like I stated in the overview. So I gave him a mirroring ability to pull that cool effect as he kills enemies without touching them.
I also wanted to highlight the sort of SURPRISE gameplay style that we all love while playing Talon. So I gave him the ability to stealth (yes I know, troublesome indeed...) and upon re-entry from stealth a burst of damage. I feel like player can use this ability to pull of amazing plays, jukes, and surprise tactics to overcome their enemies.
All in all, Jin offers an explosive playstyle that can give the player an amazing experience as he has quite a few tools at his disposal, and feel like a true ninja... i'm talking to you Zed.
