Y'Kleh, the Imprisoned Soul

"Its been so long... I do not even remember the reason to what I have done to why I am on this god-forsaken island. I can never escape this place, for if I even try then I just get pulled back in for more hurt and torture than normal like these monsters just put me through this hell for their own sick entertainment. Though, I have a feeling I cannot complain too much, I have a feeling that I did a lot worse to others in my past life just because I could. It was definitely a mistake thinking to myself that there was no way the things I used to do to people would never happen to me, boy was I ever wrong and karma caught up to me big time, now look where I am... On these miserable Shadow Isles forever imprisoned by these monsters to torture me day in and day out just like what I did in my past! It is weird though, you think being punished for my sins in the same way I use to put being through a hell I would learn my lesson and not want to do things again; to change my ways. Yet, all I want to do is beat a sad lad ten... no, over a hundred times worse than what I used to do!"

Y'Kleh shall be a marksman with very high utility and is about punishing his opponent for either trying to escape or just beating the poop stuffing out of them for the fun of it, because why not! Y'Kleh is champion that is even more punishing towards mobile champions and is essentially an anti-mobile champion almost as a way to deal with mobility creeping by having someone that both punishes and has been punished to bring out a world of pain. Be careful around Y'Kleh for once he has you chained you will never get away from him, forever you shall be imprisoned to be damned by his chain until you die MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Basic Attack Range: 575 units (he uses a chain)

Chained (Passive): Range: 900 units Y'Kleh's basic attacks keep his target chained for up to 1.5 seconds, only one target may be chained at a time.

If an enemy champion used a dash, jump, or instant teleport near Y'Kleh then his next basic attack gains an additional 325 units to its range, but deals 80% damage.

No Escape (Q): Cooldown: 28/25/22/19/16 seconds; Cost: 60 Mana Passive: Basic attacks and Chain Whip on-hit reduce No Escape's cooldown by 1 second.

Active: Y'Kleh pulls in his chained target to his maximum basic attack range and deal 100 plus 4/5/6/7/8%(+1% per 25bonus AD)(+1% per 50AP) of the target's maximum health as magic damage and reduce his target's armor by 10/15/20/25/30% for 4 seconds.

Chain Whip (W): Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4 seconds; Cost: 40 Mana; Range: 1400 units Y'Kleh whips the ground directly in front of him in the target direction to deal 20/30/40/50/60(+50%AD) physical damage to all enemies struck, the chained target takes triple damage from Chain Whip. The attack damage ratio may critically strike. Chain Whip deals quadruple damage to minions/monsters.

Death's Grasp (E): Cooldown: 26/21.5/17/12.5/8 seconds; Cost: 20/35/50/65/80 Mana Y'Kleh pulls down his chained target rooting them in place for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds and disabling their basic attacks while rooted. This root cannot be reduced by Tenacity.

Eternal Punishment (R): Cooldown: 140/120/100 seconds; Cost: 100 Mana Y'Kleh has some fun with his prey suppressing his chained unit in place for 1.25/1.5/1.75 seconds and causing Y'Kleh's basic attacks to deal true damage instead of physical damage to the suppressed target. Additionally for the next 7 seconds Chain Whip has a 3/2.25/1.5 seconds base cooldown, costs no Mana, and gains a 100% chance to critically strike.

Enjoy the champion concept! Until next time... see you all! ~ Stacona

EDIT (3): Chained: Chained duration lowered to 1.5 from 3 seconds

ok i like this guy he seems more of a frontline ap tank or ad tank his ult his R and W combo is really powerful that max health Q is pretty dam high as he can chunk a tank pretty hard and its cool down is very high and the E while it doesnt do dmg is pretty powerful but to me hes more of a solo laner mabye a support since that E Q combo can change a battle bot lane plus all you need is some ap and you can chunk thier health for so much .

personly i would lower that max health like make it lower cause at max rank its 20% plus 1% for ever 50 ap and if he had 500 ap hes going to chunk you for 30% max health and this is before mr is taken into account.

his passive is very strong as if he gets the mark he out ranges most other adcs in the game besides Caitlyn Tristana after some lvlsJinx max rank on her Q, Twitch ult. make it so if the range goes past 575 it does 70% reducties dmg

The idea was make him a utility marksman --- it is not so much the % health damage value it is at, but i may lower the base value and give it an AD ratio so that it can only deal a bunch of damage when building damage and avoid tank builds for him

the passive if the range is outside 575 units it does not deal damage, but i am going to make a change and have the increased range against dash/jump/blink champions to only up the basic attack range and deal half damage instead of dealing no damage rather than infinite range against them

LichKing2341 votes

ok i sort of like your changes but i still have some problems with it.

  1. how about since the passive is chained how about ever 3 basic attack he roots his enemy for 1.5 secs and increases at 6/11/16.
  2. if hes going to be a utlity marksman hes going to need alot of kiting in his kit or atleast something to help him kite the enemy.
  3. his Q is well broken as all hell as you made it scale with ad and ap mostly the more ad/ap he has he can do alot of max health dmg plus it makes his basic attacks do alot of dmg just Q hit your enemy boom 4% max health dmg from 1 basic attack plus you armor shread them so not only ae you doing alot of dmg your also shreading there armor.
  4. you didnt really make him a unlity marksman you made him a max health tank i mean yeah you can make him into an adc hes going to be a glass cannon but he might be played more top lane but he might be played bot lane since his Q does alot of dmg i mean yeah it has a long cooldown but you can lower it by attacking minions but you would have done so much dmg it wouldnt matter.

4% max health early game is 20 damage--- the damage is fine however, late game with a full build you would probably have like 16% max health as magic damage- i dont think you know how max % health works or % damages in general

his passive allows him a one time extra reach to attack escaping targets and then pull them in with his Q, it allows an immobile marksman to catch mobile champions

W grants utility of waveclear

E is a unique and more powerful root

R is suppresstion

his utility is more so kill potential, he has single target peel with E and R, but he wants to use his utility to kill a target rather than run away kiting; he is still a full fledged utility marksman, he also has a bunch of damage too with Q and W since Q a lot of the time will not pull targets in because they may be within your basic attack range already

i know how exactly how max health and % health dmg works. ok i read that wrong i thought he gets it for his basic attacks to deal max health dmg ok i see how that can work.

i stay say that every 3rd attack or if an enemy uses dash, blink, instant teleport or jump then he gets it or have it regular for the dash blink ect he gets the first thing you said and if he attacks an enemy 3 times he roots them with his chains

i see where your going with this making a marksman that is basicly anti mobility. he might get nerfed to increase that Q ad ratio. since hes a adc he can get his Q off cooldown pretty fast just auto minions and if push wait for it to come off regular or farm under turrent.

Stacona1 votes

i want CC to be conscious and active decisions, not passive ones, --- also his Q has a long cooldown so that it comes up quickly in the late game with attack speed and potentially a hurricane just for the cooldown reduction mechanic--- he has the tools to scale really well, so i am leaning for him to be late game focused

His W is low range but hes a marksmen... I suggest changing it. Hes cool but thresh is alreeady the "chain champion". And I would like to see some lore.

Stacona1 votes

what is in italics at the top is a very brief lore, he is related to the shadow isles but not a part of it, also he is still alive, he went under a weird circumstance because the shadow isles is for the dead so he should have never been there--- Y'Kleh basically tortured people, was mistakenly sent to the shadow isles because he is still alive, and then after being sent there he basically now wants to torture people and make them never escape him even more since he cannot escape and is tortured everyday --- even is somewhat a masochist, he gets pleasure from people's pain and suffering

his W is very long range - its 1400 units - it does travel obviously and is a skill shot --- only one target is allowed to be chained at a time

more than one champions that uses chains are allowed, and Y'Kleh is still different, he uses just a chain - Thresh has a chain and hook

Arakadia1 votes

As far as I know ONLY thresh uses chains. You could say Xerath but hes not a "chain champion". Also a masochist is someone who gets pleasure from his own pain. A sadist-like thresh the "chain champion from the shadow isles-is someone who likes to inflict pain onto others. Both Y'Kleh and thresh are sadistic, chain weilding, shadow isles orriginated champions, who are this way because they wanted to torture ppl. Y'Kleh is a kewl name and original I just am not sure how to say it.

Stacona1 votes

[yih-clay] --- it has some French pronunciation while still being in an English tone

Y'Kleh is not Shadow Isles origin, he is sent there already in his adult years--- more champions are allowed to be sadistic and use chains--- besides think about the bot lane synergy of Thresh and Y'Kleh with more ways than one

Arakadia1 votes

He is connected to the Shadow Isles. Yes Vladimir and Shaco and Thresh and other shadow Isles champions are sadistic but, theres so many similarities to thresh. I know at this point it is basicly impossible to not overlap on other champions. Through Dungeons and Dragons I learned almost every weapon there is to know and every weapon I know is weilded by a LoL champ-except for war pickaxes but thats kinda Naut's thing. Finally i suggest finding a picture on the internet or drawing on yourself that is similar to Y'Kleh. Maybe its there but I dont know what Y'kleh's weapon is.

Stacona1 votes

a long metal chain - and so the chain will wrap around his target that he attacks--- thresh has a hook at the end of his chain, Y'Kleh is just a chain that will wrap around his target when he attacks so the attack animation is a way lingers for 3 second since he holds onto the chain attached to his target, which unwraps the chain to attack again -- so with a chain wrapped around his target it makes sense to why he can pull in, pull down, and suppress his target (make sense in a fictional atmosphere obviously)---

technically a metal chain is not actually a weapon, but it is a metal chain and you can kill someone by throwing it at them really hard - heck a chain will hurt just hitting someone with it

Arakadia1 votes

Once he wrapps the chain around a target does he pulls dark energy through it or does he like pull out a bow and arrow? I suggest giving the chain spikes too and since he is the "imprisoned soul" maybe a weight on one end. You could actually make use of his similarity to thresh by saying when he was sent to the ShadowIsles he was kept prisoner BY Thresh and thus he uses chains which were also used to kill Thresh when he was mortal.

Stacona1 votes

he releases the chain on the target to attack again hence only one chained target at a time, since basic attacks cannot miss unless stated otherwise (like Kalista for example) this works out; but would mean he cannot use Q E R mid basic attack animation since technically no target is currently chained but is about to be--- and then attacking with chain whip will strike with the other hand that he doesnt use his basic attack with (its a very long chain; again fictional game things obviously can be blown out of proportion and slightly unrealistic)

Maybe Thresh was the one that sent him the shadow isles, but Y'Kleh does not know how he got to the shadow isles, he just knows he cannot escape the place (because he tried to escape); but his desire to torture people and not letting them escape his grasp are things that escalated further being on the islands, it was always there however just not truly awakened until he experienced it first hand himself --- but the thresh and y'kleh tie in together does make sense lore wise and even gameplay wise since they would make a good bot lane together (maybe Y'Kleh prevented Lucian from going anywhere before he got sent to the islands which during this time Thresh snuck in and stole Lucian's wife away, of course coincidence working together since y'kleh and thresh would not know each other at the time; maybe even have a line that whenever y'kleh uses his Q on lucian and pulls him in, he says "Going anywhere?")

Arakadia1 votes

Yeh that'd be really cool. I didnt even think about also relating him to lucian but that makes sense. His ult is pretty cool and unique. You could also just make it so Y'Kleh either has a chain on you and starts wipping with a diffrent one or, you could make it so he applies a constant buff that end when he stops targeting that enemy.
Awsome idea, I just didnt see it right away.

Stacona1 votes

well only chain whip will be different since it is not his basic attack

City of Toronto1 votes

wtf... i know this is just a champion concept but you think a targetted 3 second chain at 900-1225 range, followed by a displacement CC by pulling them to 575 range followed by a 2 second non-reducible root FOLLOWED by a 1.75 suppression with true damage is a good idea? Not even looking at your other ability effects (which are overloaded by the way) it's really obvious that this would be broken as fuck. That's like 7 seconds of CC. Not to mention he definitely wouldn't be an ADC with this kit, he'd be a bruiser/tank.

is this what happens when low elo players try to come up with balancing/champion ideas? I'm sorry but I'm astounded at how you can't see these glaring problems.

Stacona1 votes

first off, chill out dude...

There is no true damage anywhere on the kit, chained is just an effect and tooltip it does not do anything except allow his abilities to be used minus chain whip which will enhance it if it strike the unit--- also you can also have a maximum of 3.75 seconds of lock down to a single target expending your ultimate and at level 16+

you have a 575 unit basic attack, it can extend to 900 units and deal 20% less damage if an enemy blinks, jumps, or dashes near you
