The One Buff Bard He Needs!

Shrines.

More specifically. This exact buff right here: Ripen shrine time reduced to 10/9/8/7/6 seconds from 10 seconds flat at all ranks (Shrine ripen time, not the heal's active cooldown to be clear) Ripen shrine time now scales with cooldown reduction from being static the whole time

I don't ask for much. I just ask to make the one unique mechanic to his heal actually usable in the late game because 10 seconds is way too long to sit around for a slightly better heal and he ends up being played as a point and click healer rather than using the cool ripening heal shrine mechanic that Bard's heal should be used for. So please Riot just do this one buff it would be such a nice quality of life function for the Bards of the Runeterra world everywhere!

Maybe scale with CDR?

Stacona2 votes

I did put rank reduction and CDR as well

Weasel Kensei3 votes

Shouldnt be both, but I find the rank speeding up the charge time to be reasonable.

let's make bard even stronger than he already is, what could go wrong?

Why the flug should Bard be buffed?

As a Bard main i agree, Bard is a very strong champion when it comes to roaming. To my opinion his w doesnt really help to much with it. Imagine his w buffing the movement speed or imagine it (as you said) Giving more health or reducing the 10 seconds for example it would really make his w a better ability and it would be a good buff without making him to op.

Well increasing the movement speed wouldn't play on the unique element, buffing the shine for rank reduction and affected by CDR really helps that part out for late game so it can actually be used rather than point and click heal someone

what if the ripen bonus worked as a total heal boost

so it would also increase healing from item 3174 for example or from other heal boosts such as the wind speaker keystone additional healing

That would be interesting

then it could still have reduced ripen time from cdr

i think that would make for an interesting buff

not that bard really needs a buff though but it would open up additional build paths

too hard to balance, also grail works by damaging enemies, if Bard is damaging champions then he is procing the grail passive with his heal on allies so at no point would grail and shrine charge ever really get used together

Would be cool if the fully charged heal had a %missing health heal as a bonus.

I'd like unlimited shrines....

So I can leave a shrine in every bush ;)

Edit increase mana cost ofc if you were to do this

Rıots Bad Client2 votes

The problem with this, is that bard can just sit under turret for the first 5 min of the game spamming shrined. and the adc can just make huge trades and then go under turret for a moment and run through a few shrines healing back to full.

IF ANYTHING. If they were to increase the amount of shrines. It should scale with points.

So the first point could give 3, while the last point can give 5.

Stacona1 votes

When you said points, i was thinking along the lines of chime collection

Oelyk1 votes

Chimes only apply to meeps, it would trigger me so hard if suddenly they included shrines. I agree with rank however.

Skins Project1 votes

No...

I said edit mana cost.

I.E.

First shrine you place (ie when none are on map) is 20 mana, then 40, then 80 and so on...

This would make the mana regen from chime collecting more rewarding, and force bard to limit shrines. I.E. shrines can be used as an escape tool because of the movement speed buff, do you want to place shrines everywhere? Or have that margin of safety.

Sure you can have it

Riot ensues to nerf the Q stun radius to the ground Travel portal now gives everyone equal speed through the tunnel Ultimate cannot zhonyas epic monsters or towers anymore Just to tune his kit so his heal doesnt become over bearing

Be careful what you wish for

While the Idea of Bard's shrines scaling better into the lategame is enticing. He doesn't need it. He REALLY doesn't. I'm sitting at around 200k Mastery points on the Bard, I have played him a fair bit and know his ins and out's. The full potential of his heal is only really needed in lane, and it shines in that regard. As bard you can get away with going 2 early points in W against a heavy poke lane and basically ensure your ADC never gets poked out of lane. Once lane phase ends the W is best used as a speed boost + a tiny snap heal, and more often than not that tiny heal is more than enough to make clutch saves.

I get what you're thinking, and it's novel, but unnecessary. Especially with the most recent change to Bards damage curve and Meep capacity (which was, by the way, a f-cking MASSIVE buff).

i'd say making the the charge scale with CDR is good enough. You reach the 6 seconds at max CD (half a second more if you take the 45% mastery) anyways so it's overkill to do both and then bard becomes a monster lol. which i mean i'd personally like but I can't reasonably justify why i can output 800 damage AND heal in 3 seconds at 30 mins without calling it busted.

Stacona1 votes

No he doesn't because the heal cooldown is still 12 seconds, also with 45% cdr the charged heal would 3.3 seconds delay by late game which is still quite a bit to wait, just not the ridiculous value of 10 seconds in the late game and because it is so long it never gets used for the amp heal

Also what Bard does 800 damage?

58697132DEL11 votes

I do. Full build, specific runes and masteries, and minimum 40 chimes and I put out roughly 678 AP and 284 AD. This usually equates to ~800 damage after defense stuff. If course that's also with meeps, it's only like half as much otherwise

And idk 3 seconds ain't much, even the 1.5 is cool. I just don't think his heal needs to be that great. He's more a CC and burst guy to me.

Stacona1 votes

You aren't building support

58697132DEL11 votes

Ummmm i get a support starting item and make it into a sightstone thingy, idk what more ya want fromme other than peeling for my carry and making sure they stay alive, which i do well because i kill them (or at least get them low)

rude af to assume you know me sir. good day.

Snake Town1 votes

His W is pretty much just a speed boost tbh

Fairyfleur1 votes

I made a discussion about it a while ago, but I would love if the heal/cooldown/ripe scaled with the amount of chimes you get.
