Why is Warwick and Nautilus getting a skin ?

Like, I won't say don't make skins for them, but Warwick was gutted, and already doesn't really fit the game well, and needs a rework, And when patch 5.2 Nautilus will pretty much never be seen in the jungle since they are making the machete upgrade cost more.

So thats 2 people getting new skins, who aren't that popular right now, or aren't working well with the meta, one is getting a rework soon, and they are getting a new skin? Why?

Edit- Why the hell is this being downvoted? I am just asking why they are getting skins with the current situation for them. I don't dislike either champion or disagree with them getting a skin, I AM LITERALLY JUST ASKING WHY.

  • Champion is popular? If yes, make skin.

  • Champion is recently gutted? If yes, make skin.

  • Champion is about to get gutted? If yes, make skin.

That's about all there is to the logic of the skins. It's why you won't see a skin for Urgot, Olaf, Galio, etc, because they aren't popular and they aren't about to be gutted (further).

Not exactly on topic but I think the Naut skin should be called Knightilus. item 3113

Popular champions get a skin: "Why Riot?! Think about Zac!"

Unpopular champions get a skin: "Why Riot?!" Think about Lucian!"

People are downboting because they disagree. Warwick is still a strong pick. His sutain and ultimate provide for an extremely powerful jungler that doesnt need a Level 2 Machete. Nautilus is fine. He can jungle ok, but his late game is what he is becoming known for. It only matters how you want to get there. Jungle is a safer yet slower route, but Laning is a faster yet more dangerous route. Top or Jungle, it doesnt matter too much. Just as long as you get to late game.

But... Their both fine =/

WW is WW, he can jungle for however long he wants, and the only reason people are failing so much at Naut jungle is because they're messing up their runes and jungle path. Been playing Naut jungle since the season started every night or so, I've yet to have ANY issue clearing outside of my very first match, which also was my very first time jungling in S5 and I still didn't find myself barely killing the third camp.

Granted I haven't seen what he'll be like with the 100 gold nerf to tier 2 Machete but considering I don't even B until like lvl 3 or 4, hopefully with 1 or 2 assists, I doubt it will make a huge impact.

Warwick still stomps noobs who don't know any better, and Naut makes a pretty decent dive support, like Thresh or Leona. I fail to see why champs shouldn't get skins because YOU don't like them, OP. Shall we only give skins to champs with a high pick %? How about ones with a high winrate? Or should we just call you up directly and let you tell us what champs YOU think need skins.

Would you prefer LeeSin LeeSin LeeSin LeeSin LeeSin LeeSin LeeSin skins?

Because they had a set of skin concepts that WW and Naut fit and there are still people who enjoy/play those champions.

agreed, the game needs more vi skins

i mean its been like six months or something

Well it's like Eve, they said she wouldn't get anything till her VU happened and BAM Safecracker happened. So, when they get an idea and they can actually do it with what they have to work with, they go for it. WW's Vu/Rework will probably still be awhile off anyway now because they'd have to get redesigning this skin they just made (as they said he'd get both VU/Kit work when he hits).

Skins for outdated champions are kind of like Riot's way of apologizing for not updating. It could also be taken as a sign that they won't be releasing the VU's anytime soon. However, you could also say they are testing the waters with new models, seeing what they can do with the rigs the champions have now and work around that. Naut is a bit of a disappointment in my opinion though. Whereas the concept is great, his model indicates he is far from ready for a skin. But we can still hope for the best.
