Where does Mordekaiser stand in terms of an update?

Honestly, I think he would greatly benefit from a Sion-level update. He's got this Sauron-like aura about him. He really likes killing things and turning them into his soul-slaves like in Game of Thr-... nevermind. You get the idea. Make him big, make him bad... and just make him outright terrifying. A force the entire world knows about and fears. (I mean, they don't know about Lissandra sooo)

I don't mind waiting, I know all champions will be updated eventually. Just curious where he stands in Rito-sama's eyes.

I agree with this,I thought he was going to benefit a sion-level update and as a mordekaiser main,I was disapointed (I'm fine with the changes about his spells,it's good) but I was expecting something more in term of graphics, being taller (seriously,he is as tall as other champions...). Here's my theory based on NOTHING except feeling: They don't know yet how to change it,so they made his graphic updates because of the new map and changed his spell because they removed the dfg. I know that poppy is on the line for now,but I don't really know if they're going to rework Mordekaiser this year. All I can say is that you can always stomp on people :p

I don't think Riot has mentioned about a VU for Mordekaiser. I know the ones being Visually Updated are Poppy and Yorick.

Malzahar's abilities are being looked at. Shen's getting a rework apparently. Yorick's abilities had a lot of conceptual variations in the drawing board. I can't wait for the Yorick overhaul.

sure, but is riot planning the rework for 3 champions or did they made a list of rework for 20 champions (it's just an example, they're not really clear about their projects).
