ATTENTION: This post is the second version of Reman, The Tormented Soul. Originally, he was a melee hybrid assassin. Now I change him into a Control Mage. Link Here Please inform me if this was a wiser choice or if the hybrid assassin could still work with alterations.

LORE:

"The Mists have been denied this night. We still hunger for souls and are not yet sated. The Dead will have their due and Nagakaborous will join the Dead." A quote reported to have been said by Reman, according to a 'traumatized dock worker.'

The Reborn Order tells tales of various victims of Thresh, the Chain Warden himself. One tale tells of a man named, Reman. Reman was once a naturally gifted user of magic who honed his skills to be a greatly skilled healer in the Blessed Isles, until the Ruined King wrought his spell of undeath upon the land. That day Thresh collected many souls with the intent to satisfy his sadistic cravings, but Reman was released back into the Shadow Isles. It is unknown if this soul who was tormented by Thresh for years escaped the lantern or was simply released. It matters not, as, upon his release, he became the Tormented Soul. A vessel that lacked any identity, consumed fully by the mists. A puppet. Reman has been seen various times, but noone has ever engaged in combat with the spectre as he simply puffs into the Black Mist as if he were made of the evil creation.

Only recently has Reman been unleashed to kill any who venture into the mists. Wherever he walks, the Mist seems to follow. Past reports, dismissed as paranoid delusions, now seem to have merit. Reports of Black Mists on the mainland during times where the Harrowing was months away now, I believe, can be traced to this mysterious figure named Reman. With Nagakaborous directly intervening this Harrowing, the Black Mist has been denied its due of souls and still hungers. It is my belief that Reman is a vehicle that brings the Black Mists anywhere it goes, not in the scale of a harrowing, but enough to swallow a small village. If allowed to roam unchecked, the Harrowing may become a more fearsome event in the near future. So now I request permission from the Reborn Order to hunt down Reman, the Tormented Soul.

In terms of appearance: imagine a ghoulish figure that's wearing a robe which makes it unable to see his face. Only his withered hands and feet are visible.

Reman, the Tormented Soul is a Control Mage who utilizes the Black Mists of the Shadow Isles to feast upon the souls of the unwary. Please bear in mind that numbers are FAR from my field and than ALL FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED AND ENCOURAGED.

Passive: Will of the Mists

Reman is a soul that discharges the Black Mist around him in a certain radius(75 units). Depending on his abilities, the Mist will react differently. If an enemy is caught in the Black Mist, they are slowed(10%) and are marked by the Mist for 3 seconds. The Mist pools around him slowly and will appear to be a trail if he continuously moves without stopping. The Black Mist dissapates within 1/1.5/2 seconds when not near Reman.

AUTO-ATTACK

Indeed you read this right. Reman's auto-attack is limited to where the mists are. If the mists are within 25 units of a target, Reman can target an enemy and have the Black Mist lash out and damage the target, marking them aswell. Attack speed will scale to current AP.

Q: Encroaching Darkness

At the activation of Encroaching Darkness, the Black Mists pooled around Reman will spear out towards a targeted direction. Anything hit by Encroaching darkness will be slowed and damaged (both scale to AP). Can be combined with Hungering Mists. If a target has been marked, Encroaching Darkness will spear (50% dmg) out in five different directions out from the target. (If the 5 additional spears dart out and hit marked targets, they only do slightly more damage than normal) Even if it does not land on a target, it will leave behind Mist which does mark targets, but due to the cast time cannot be used with Q again.

W: Death's Hand

At the activation of Death's Hand, any marked target within a certain radius of Reman, will be stunned (.5 seconds) and weakened (1 second) when a hand made of Mist grabs it's prey. Weakened targets receive additional damage from other sources (your team/ minions/ monsters).

E: Hungering Mists

At the activation of Hungering Mists, The Black Mist closest to the target will split into jaws and take a bite at the targeted area dealing scaling magic damage and slowing any enemies that were bit. Upon biting a marked target, the target is temporarily a carrier of the Black Mists himself. While unable to be slowed or marked by the Mists that he extrudes, he can accidentally slow/mark his own teammates if they step into his Mists. Note that the Black Mists still work for you and allow you to be able to constantly auto-attacked. If used immediately after using Q, Hungering Mists can be cast from it.

R: Harrowing Call

Reman howls loudly, causing the Black Mist to be extruded more rapidly and farther away (850 units for 5 seconds). Any enemy caught in the Black Mists during the Harrowing Call will be massively slowed, marked, and have souls emerge from the mists to run through and damage enemies. After the initial howl, Reman can move freely.

Tips For Playing

Early Game

Reman, being a control mage who wholly depends on where the Black Mist is, has a somewhat complicated early game. As has been noted: his auto-attacks are only effective if the Black Mists are close enough to take swipe at the target. It is recommended to start with Encroaching Darkness to be able to place a small trail of Mists further into your opponent's side of the lane to farm, poke, and mark. Also be sure to keep moving around so that the Black Mists ALWAYS have a significant range and ability to slow/root enemy gankers. Keep that Mist trail up.

Once at level 2 or 3, Reman can now work in tandem with a jungler to bring down his opponent(s). If one went with Q into E, then you have a decently long mark/slow which will allow enough time for a jungler to run in and say hi. Q into W is even better for an early gank as the weakness/root will be enough time for your jungler to get into a better position to say hi. Remember the importance of your passive. Instead of only getting close enough to auto attack and use abilities on them, think ahead and cut off their escape route using the Black Mists.

USE YOUR PASSIVE AND W WISELY. While you could just throw out some abilities then root the target, it would just let them have enough time to consider flashing away (honestly a good trade but...). Instead, throw out a Q so that it will damage and slow targets, use the E to keep them there a bit longer while you cut off their escape with the Black Mist so that they need to choose: Do I want to take the path through the mists to my tower or run through the jungle and take longer to go to my tower. If they were to use flash or any form of easy escape, pop W and make them realize that they wasted a vital escape tool only to be rooted and slain.

Mid Game

Now is when the enemy realizes (unless you screwed up) that they can't get to you easily. With the significant range of the Mists, if they were to try and reach you then they would be slowed, stunned, and kicked away (if there's a LeeSin ). They will attempt to evenly farm, freezing the lane in their favor so that they can just wait for ganks. Just to be clear: You will NOT excel in game by just doing this.

Once you hit your spike, roam and spread the fear of the Shadow Isles to all corners of the minimap! When ganking, be sure to start behind the target(s) to lay down that Black Mist, then go in and squeeze the target(s) between two or more foes. If it appears they will be able to run away, forbid them with Death's Hand. If they seek to fight you, slow them down and re position. They are fully within your grasp (unless they warded like we all should do).

End Game/Teamfights

This is where Reman shows his superiority. Assuming you aren't split up, stay somewhat on the outskirts until there is an easy opening to jump into the fray where you use Harrowing Call, smack down targets, then press W to immobilize and weaken enemies (not in that order). Obviously, while it is tempting to stay in the middle and control who gets in or out, you want to do the opposite of that somewhat. Cut off escape routes with your now larger Black Mist spawning to create a good way to route your enemies or for a secure escape route where if they follow, they are slowed and can be rooted.

Keep in mind that while you can mass mark, root, slow, etc. If Reman dies, the Black Mists will dissipate. Reman is significantly lacking in endurance, even if you can control the tide of a battle it won't matter if you die by jumping into the middle of three juggernauts. Positioning is everything.

I think the passive should be scaled back a lot or think of a different passive. 150 units seems pretty big and a %15 movement debuff is like getting a Jinx zap to the face, and it won't stop until your out of the mist.

Very interesting concept. I'm intrigued to see how this would act in game. Sounds like he would be a very good jungler!
