Let's Make Chromas Have Some Significance

I thought this was a great idea when Riot announced it but I think their price points are pretty ludicrous. 390 RP for 3 skins that are just recolors seems absurd. I'd rather just wait for a decent skin to go on sale and buy that for just a little bit more.

Chromas would be so much cooler if they were a reward for champion mastery, that way they would be more special than just "a recolor skin I bought." You could even have them cost a modest amount of IP (1350) or a small of RP (100) to incentive people to spend their leftover RP on them. This would also make veteran players with absurd amounts of IP happy because they would have something new to spend it on. Riot makes money, gives veteran players a thank you, and gives newer players a way to get rid of their spare RP. In the end everyone would be happy and chromas would have some significance rather than just being a recolor.

I'd be ok with it being a completely stupid amount of IP (10k or so) as well as the usual RP price, available after champion mastery. That way you'd see a chroma and know the player meant business.

Just imagine seeing a dragon fist lee on the enemy team... that moment of dread... then when he's killing you at level 2 and you see his chroma and you know you're gonna have a bad time for the next 25 minutes.

You're a few weeks late to this complaint but lets discuss it a bit more since this is going to bring the anger back anyway. I'm just gonna point out that all the ideas you suggested ( except the IP one I believe) are being considered by Rito. And since champion mastery won't be that big of an astonishing feature the chromas will probably be a gimmick to make it worthwhile other than just bragging rights for a certain champ. Also chromas will not halt or add additional time to the wait of regular skins because they're simple to make (consult people that make fan skins PG.57) IMO I got nothing against chromas since they're exceedingly cheap and I'm a person that has leftover rp and until MA zigs comes out no skins have caught my interest. I also really rather have a Blue Dino Gnar than a Green Dino (Sorry Yoshi but I prefer Boshi) then a new skin although if the skin is bad I'd much rather a chroma. Also they could do a good job of holding people over until said champion gets a new actual skin

didnt old recolor skins cost 520RP and u only got the one? green mundo comes to mind

I was thinking Riot could give you the chromas for free when you buy that champ with RP.
