I fear for this generation

I see so many threads that basically say "these players were so much more toxic than me/my friend/this streamer and yet they don't get banned!"

News flash: the ethical nature of your actions or anyone else's actions does not depend on the punishment (or lack thereof) of others. If you did something wrong and you got punished for it then you deserved it. Period. It doesn't matter if other people deserved it more. It doesn't matter if other people were WAAAYYY worse than you. If you do something wrong then you deserve to be held accountable for your actions. That's what being an ADULT is, taking responsibility for your actions.

Let's use a real world example. If you shoplift and get caught can you imagine how ridiculous you would sound if you said "thousands of murders go unsolved and unpunished every year, why am I being punished for shoplifting!"

Stop acting childish. Stop sticking up for people who deserve to be punished just because "others deserve to be punished more." Its a complete logical fallacy.

Its not just this generation. Look at Donald Trump. Or the internet as a whole.

it is basically a childish mentality. Because X is worse, why cant i get away with Y. We see this all the time when people get pulled over by police. They always try to pull the line of: Don't you have real criminals to arrest" or something to that extent. When it doesnt matter how big or small the crime is you are still breaking the rules. You dont get away from your crimes just because someone else is doing a bigger crime. Or else by that logic the only people in prison would be rapist and murderers!

Just like in real life people will get away from doing bad things, or not get caught right away. it happens because nothing is perfect and there will never be a way to catch everyone. But at least with League we have ways to help clean up the community. What people dont seem to understand when talking about others getting away with toxic behavior is that majority of the time they arent typing in chat. If you vent in real life its not affecting league, nor the people you are playing with. So its not a problem. Then they also forget that these other streamers are almost always playing with friends/viewers so they obviously wont get reported unless its by the enemy team, but even then they would need to actually be breaking the rules.

Lmaoooo "This Generation" People have been treating each other like shit since cavemen were around. Don't act like it's anything different, you sound like a conservative 50-year-old man.

Its human nature, we have a false sense of fairness especially in areas where its not applied. People fail to realize that Riot owns this game, makes this game, runs this game. You agree to their rules when you sign up. But people forget that in the name of their "rights" that they dont have on this platform.

That is a logical fallacy in itself your example. I think what people are more concerned about is this:

Person A is at a meeting and being insanely loud, obnoxious and offensive.

The person A says something so offensive in the meeting you stand up and call him a "worthless piece of shit"

You get kicked out of the meeting, Person A remains.

That's a better example. People aren't complaining about being punished for their own actions. It's literally watching people do the exact same thing or 10x worse and have NOTHING done to them. I've watched Tyler play and i'm in no way condoning his actions. However on the other side of the coin, I've seen multiple upon multiple of his games where people trolls/intentionally feed and are extremely toxic to him and no punishment was done on their account.

Riot's community is already rated the worst community of gamers in the world. Their system needs to represent better clarity and judgement for people to take it seriously.

generation my ass, dont make it sound like its the biggest thing. this is a game, online, half of the toxicity in lol doesnt transfer to in real life. people are toxic because of their anonymity.

"This Generation" comments usually come from people who are in my parents age range and refer to people who are my youngest brothers age (17). That means you're more than likely a sad little republican adult that has nothing better to do but come on the internet and try to talk down to kids.

So stop whining about the generation that you and your friends were too lazy/stupid/drunk to raise right (cause you didn't wanna be the hard ass drag that your parents were so you let them run rampant and have what ever they want so they can live free like you couldn't) and own up to your generations mistakes like an adult.

I fear for this generation

Yep. Because we're all the same, and Tyler1's fan base is representative of our entire generation.

You have no need of fear. The people who obsess over their behavior punishments in an online video game are not the people who will step up and make a change in the world with their careers and achievements.

Now let's get another real life example. You go and steal a pair of sunglasses from a store and they catch you. Meanwhile someone kills a person. Should you both get 30 years in jail? You both did something wrong. This is your logic.

I've seen people get banned for being negative and seen people who wish cancer to other for no reason at all done nothing to. You clearly don't get what is fair and what is not. Why is the punishment the same for both when one just wasn't happy while other wished death to another player?

You can't see what is all behind this policy. It is as always in favor of biggest part of the community that brings more funds. You see the quality of gameplay has really decreased during last seasons. Now all blame it on the dynamic queue, but the reason is other - no one cares about how good you play anymore. See, a person can play like shit but you don't have to be good to buy skins. So, it is important to keep players happy, not to make them improve in order to bring money, meaning that no one should be able to tell them they can't properly, because this might make them sad and cause them to stop purchasing from the store. Now, we have this system that punishes everyone for every time someone is offended, which is basically every 2nd game, because people have become little crybabies that say everything they don't like is toxic. And people like you believe that this is for the greater good of this community :D:D:D. All is done because of the money, now stop telling people to be responsible or anything like that.

And ok, flamers get punished because with their words they make the experience of the other players in game worse, right? Yep, Leaver buster punishes people that get dc or leave, because while they are not there they make the experience worse for the other players, right? But, what about players that constantly play worse but still go to ranked and become big burden for their team members. I'm not talking about just a bad games, there are many players that just troll, play terrible but are always there to make game worse. Why aren't they punished? Aren't they making the game experience worse for their team members? The difference is that there are way too many of these players and if you start punishing all it can hurt the funds. But you can always go and punish the small amount of players that aren't happy with these people entering to ruin their games and call it for the greater good.

Anyways, I don't really believe that this will make you change your mind, you are probably too naive. :) Good luck.

"this generation" comments are always funny to read, because after all, guess who raised us... Or you were too busy to take drugs to take care of your childs?

Btw, you are talking about ethics and shit. But the only reason why Riot choosed to ban him its because him became popular on twitch.

Darkinlegend5/2/2016, 1:20:57 AM1 votes

You know what I find to be childish? All the thinned skinned wimps who play league who never learned how to not be offended by everything and take everything so personally. Heaven forbid we have another world ward. This generation will not carry us to victory.
