(Champion Concept) Kartuul, the Evolution's Auger

From Zaun, we will evolve and rise, and we will not stop rising until the we reach the edge of reality itself." - Kartuul The Glorious Evolved, a cult that arose when Viktor shared the idea of improving humanity through metal and machine, endlessly tries to convert others to it's cause. To be improved is to become perfect, but some of those within know that there is no end to the perfection that the Glorious Evolution can provide. There is always more that can be done to one's self and others to improve them more and more. Within the Glorious Evolved is an extremely, fanatical, some might say insane group of cultists lead by someone, or something, that some would have a hard time calling human anymore. While he was originally a human like others, he has modified his body so much that even Viktor himself might have mixed feelings of him. While improving one's body through machinery is fine to Viktor, it is important that you at least remember that you are not some animal or insane being, but a human made new. Kartuul disagrees. Kartuul believes that, while you must remember what you once were, you must only remember such to know how you have improved to become what you are today. If some were to meet him, they would not even know he is human, more than likely believing him to be some metallic monster that came from another dimension. The only human-like qualities that remain of this... being is the basic structure of the body and even that could be argued to be false. While others share a similar job to him within the cult, he embraces it more than any other would ever to dream to. Those who make the mistake of approaching him for acceptance into the cult find themselves to be treated more like an engineer would treat a machine. Taking out all that the engineer believes to not be needed or good enough, and replacing what needs to be replaced with a new and improved version of the engineer's own design. And yet, despite his devotion to the cause being extreme, his creations are actually arguably on par or better than anything Viktor himself would create to improve a human. However, there is a line that Viktor knows cannot be crossed, and these creations made by Kartuul, despite functioning far better, crossed said line long ago. Some wonder why Kartuul would ever dream of doing such things to humans, but this can be traced back to, like many other life stories, his childhood. Growing up in Piltover, Kartuul's family was foreign, originating in Demacia before moving to Piltover to flee the wrath of the crown. Kartuul was fascinated with the beauties of Piltover, believing it to be the very pinnacle of society that all nations would eventually come to copy in design. His parents, however, did not share this view. Their life in Piltover was harsh and constantly being attacked by agents from Demacia. Their young boy had to be kept safe from their past sins, so they set up an event that would change Kartuul's life forever. They loaded the boy aboard one of the elevators that lowered citizens down into Zaun and then abandoned him forever. The young Kartuul was swallowed by the crowd, seeing his parents for what they thought to be the last time. The elevator doors closed and Kartuul descended into Zaun. For the first few days in Zaun, Kartuul believed the city was a complete disgrace compared to the city above it. However, over time, he came to envy those enhanced by the Chem-Barons. Their masks that filtered out the harmful effects of the Zaun Gray along with their many weapons made Kartuul realize the possibilities of a human enhanced by the machine. Kartuul, now set down the path, disappeared from existence for a long time. Rumors spread of a mysterious man who killed everyone with ties to Demacia. The man was said to use weapons that even the Chem-Barons would never dream of using. However, these were all just rumors of course... yes, just rumors... When Viktor's Glorious Evolution exploded into Zaun, bringing to life the Glorious Evolved, the man mentioned in these rumors came back into existence. His eyes were gorged out and his back likely affected by a serious case of scoliosis. Viktor went about improving the man, giving him back his vision and fixing his back. Kartuul was reborn back into existence with the tools required to set out on his journey. He began his work by buying an extremely large section of land, or maybe more accurately called wall since it was inside the walls of the valley that Zaun resided within. From there, he created his laboratory that would come to be known as the Heart of Metal. Kartuul's end goals for himself remain shrouded in mystery, but his goals for humanity are clear. One day, humanity will ascend through the benefits of metal and, when that day never comes, they will keep ascending. Forever. And all that choose to ally with him are free to ascend as well. Yordle, dragon, and beast, all can be improved by the Evolution's Auger.

Passive- All Will Improve Innate: Kartuul can channel on a jungle camp for 2.5 seconds in order to begin his work, stunning the monsters within the camp permanently. By using his abilities on the monsters, he can modify and improve the monsters through his machines. By default, the monsters gain 10% of his Armor as Bonus Armor and 5% of his Ability Power as Bonus Attack Damage. Through his abilities, they can be further improved. Once Kartuul believes himself to be done with his current experiment, he can channel on the jungle camp for 7.5 seconds in order to gain the camp's gold and experience, start the camp's respawn timer, and cause them to follow him, not attacking or doing anything else until he enters a lane, upon which they will gain a sudden 20/35/50% increase in movement speed decaying over 5 seconds and begin to push down the lane. If an enemy champion is within 2000 units of Kartuul upon entering a lane, they will prioritize enemy champions while pushing down the lane. A maximum of 1/2/3 camps of neutral monsters can be following Kartuul at one time. Levels: 1/7/13

Ability 1- Gene Splicer Passive: Neutral monsters that are affected by Gene Splicer have their current bonuses from Kartuul's abilities recorded if they have any, causing the next Gene Splicer to apply the recorded bonuses to the targeted neutral monster. Active: Kartuul splices the genes of the target non-epic neutral monster, causing them to gain 0.25% of his Ability Power as Bonus Attack Damage and increasing their Attack Speed by 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5%. This can only affect a neutral monster once each lifetime, but can be cast on them again to record their bonuses for this ability's passive. Cost: 20 mana Cool Down: 9/8/7/6/5 seconds Range: 250

Ability 2- Metallic Oil Active: Kartuul splashes metallic oil down onto the targeted location, dealing 45/75/105/135/165 (+40% AP) magic damage to enemy champions and minions while also slowing them by 35/40/45/50/55% for 3 seconds. Allied champions hit are granted a 50/75/100/125/150 (+25% AP) shield that decays over 3 seconds. Non-epic neutral monsters in the affected area gain 0.6/0.7/0.8/0.9/1% of Kartuul's Magic Resist as bonus Magic Resist. Neutral monsters can only be affected by this ability once each lifetime. Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 mana Cool Down: 10 seconds Range: 700 AoE Radius: 325

Ability 3- Muscle Transformation Virus Passive: Kartuul's basic attacks deal 5 (+6/8/10/12/14% AP) bonus true damage and slow his target by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 2 seconds. Active: Kartuul injects a virus into the target non-epic neutral monster, causing their Base Health Regeneration to be increased by 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5% and causing them to gain 0.15/0.3/0.45/0.6/0.75% increase Base Health. This can be used on an enemy champion to deal 30/90/150/210/270 (+35% AP) true damage and apply Grievous Wounds to them for 5 seconds. Neutral monsters can only be affected by this ability once each lifetime. Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 mana Cool Down: 15/13.5/12/10.5/9 seconds Range: 250

Ultimate- Natural Selection Active: After channeling for 2.5 seconds, Kartuul gains 5/10/15% increased Base Mana Regeneration permanently. For the next 15 seconds, Kartuul becomes ranged, increasing his Attack Range by 350/400/450, and causes his basic attacks to apply a venom that deals 1/2/3% (+1% per 100 AP) of the target's current health as magic damage every second for 3 seconds. Cost: 100 mana Cool Down: 120/110/100 seconds "I ascend and you are cursed by this venom which you would have been immune to if you ascended with me. How sad your defiance is to me."

TIPS AND TRICKS

• Remember that Kartuul puts the enemy team on a timer as the game progresses due to his ability to infinitely improve his neutral monster minions as long as his side of the jungle is defended. This metaphorical clock can, especially later in the game, apply intense pressure on the enemy to try and end the game before your power grows out of control. Improve your monsters as quickly as possible in order to make sure the clock isn't too generous.

• While not as common a use for his abilities rather than simply sending monsters down a lane, you do not have to use your Passive on neutral monsters to improve them. This means that you can actually simply improve monsters in the enemies jungle just so that they are harder to kill and hit harder.
• Kartuul is almost nothing without his monsters and any enemy that has experienced Kartuul will know that. If the enemy team shows signs of invading your side of the jungle, don't be afraid to purchase a Tracker's Knife so you and your team can prevent them from sabotaging your evolution.
• Kartuul cannot improve epic monsters or use them for himself, so do not bother trying to tame Baron Nashor or a Dragon.
• While Kartuul is weaker than most champions when it comes to team fights, he does have some uses. Metallic Oil can provide his team with a minor shield and Natural Selection can inflict moderate damage to pesky enemy Tanks.
• While it is most likely the most efficient to bring Kartuul as your team's Jungler, it is not outside the realm of reason to also attempt him as a roaming Support that uses the enemy's jungle as a means of improving monsters, recording their stat bonuses, and then, later on in the game, using these stat bonuses to prove to be a moderate pushing force. Kartuul is all about experimenting so go mad.
