Idea for Nashor's Tooth Change

Goal: To increase the desirability of the item and further cement its Niche.

Current problem: Not many AP users desire attack speed and doesn't fit will with auto-weavers since they're more about burst rather than sustained DPS.

Proposed changes : Replace item 3101 with item 3113. item 3115 Now gives 80 AP, 10% Movement Speed, 10% CDR, and total cost is lower from 3000 to 2750 (Combine cost still 1000). Passive: Basic attacks deal 10 (+20% Ability Power) bonus magic damage on-hit. This effect is increased by 50% against structures. This this specific change, it would keep the pattern of Nashor's being on every basic attack, with slight buff to the on-hit aspect to keep the DPS about the same (I'm not great at numbers balance so could use some adjustment) but having the effect increased against towers would make some mages building the item great at tower taking and potential options to bring Bot lane.

While ideally a magic damage based auto attacker would want attack speed to emphasize their niche, it's overall an undesirable stat for all but two mages that could utilize it (Azir/Kayle). By making the item not have attack speed it makes it more desirable and could be picked up by players who like to weave basic attacks between abilities (think Orianna, Viktor, Annie) but also strong for sieging/split pushing carries (Ekko, Ziggs, Anivia, Veigar, Akali, Kayle). In addition, it's still an item that would be desired on basic attack mages like Azir and Kayle. The ultimate idea behind this change would be to make it so that Marksman aren't the only class who can specialize in taking down towers, but at the same time it is something mages would need to invest towards if they want it.

Now that you mention it instead of replacing stinger why not replace codex with wisp. Instead of cdr make it an attack speed + movement speed item. Cdr and atk speed don't really synergize that well, but movespeed and atk speed work pretty well together (ex. Any zeal item)

I'd build that on Mordekaiser

Then what would you do about Kayle? The item is actually core on her in every sense, especially the attack speed which I'd even argue is more important than the ap itself.

That item would be gutted if you did that, the Attack speed is huge for champions who have a use of auto attacks and the 20% CDR was very helpful as well. All you did was remove 10% CDR, and the 50% attack speed for 10% Movement speed, a small buff to the on-hit part and 50% extra damage to structures. First of all, that isn't needed...Turrets are already super weak and feels useless and to easy to destroy as it is, we don't need even more ways to easily destroy them and games already end to fast as it is.

Second, that could be argued that the additions to the item won't even make up the loss you gave it. What is the point of on-hit effects if you remove the attack speed? If they really wanted a way to throw auto attacks in to deal more damage then they could just grab item 3100. And what about all the champions who need the attack speed on the item? Like Azir Diana Kayle Teemo and thats not even all of them, just the ones I see build it the most.

And the changes you did to it, isn't going to make non on-hit champions want to really use it. I'd never build your version of Nashor's on Anivia Velkoz Ziggs (well...Maybe not Never on Ziggs but most likely won't).

Now if you gave it more AP, kept the 20% CDR and kept the normal price then maybe it can be ok but Nashor's is the only AP attack speed item in the game besides for hybrid items like item 3124. I feel Nashor's is fine the way it is right now.

I don’t think it should be traded for nashors tooth but instead be it’s own item.

It seems like it would be good on champs like Kassadin
