Wren, The Corrupted Trial

This is a bit of a long one, if you want you can skip over the lore, the TL;DR for it is: Wren is the son of an iceborn and a normal human, he has the body of an iceborn with the soul of a normal human. Boring Lore that I spent hours researching to make sure it fit into Leagues actual lore, goes with lissandra to fight the watchers, gets put in the true ice cage, watchers try to fuse themselves with Wren and end up corrupting him. Now he wields Dark Ice and is looking to destroy all True Ice and Lissandra.

Please if you have the time leave a comment even if it just says "good" or "bad", it really makes a difference.

Hope you enjoy it! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Lore: Born into the ancient Frostlands of Freljord, 15 years prior to the siege of the Voidborn onto the Icelands, Wren was born as the child of a legendary Iceborn warrior, Joseph of the frost, and one of the village women. The first child to be born with mixed blood, Wren was of interest to Lissandra, who could be found in the child's presence most days.

As he grew, Wren was taught in the ways of an Iceborn warrior, he was taught fighting styles that would later be known as some of the best, and gained the stubbornness of an unmoving glacier that the Iceborn are renowned for.

But it wasn’t until his 14th year when his real training would start, unbeknownst to the child there were plans for him being weaved by beings he couldn’t even comprehend. He was brought from his home to the 3 legendary sisters of the Freljord where he was taught how to wield the magic and grace of True Ice.

As he practised wielding the True Ice he noticed that while she tried to hide it, Lissandra was growing more and more frantic with each passing day. It wasn’t until he was halfway through his year of training with the sisters that he began asking Lissandra about the way she got her mystical powers, which had led to many victories for the Freljordians.

He was told by the Ice Witch that her a lot of her powers had come from gods themselves and that these gods were demanding something from her in return for the powers that they had bestowed upon her and her people. That was the reason why Wren had interested her so much, since he had the body of an Iceborn yet the soul of a normal human, she believed that he held the power to besting these gods should they ever try to seize the Freljord.

Wren took this to heart, and trained day and night with his True Ice twin swords, Neve and Xeo. He spent many hours discussing with Lissandra about these gods, and was quickly forced to make a vow of silence that these secrets shall never reach the public's ears.

Wren spent most of his days leading up to his 15th year with his head in the clouds, dreaming of the day that the gods would descend and he would slay them. And that’s where his mistake was born, for these gods did not descend from the heavens, no, they erupted from the Earth itself.

He was summoned to the Howling abyss and sent in with the legendary sisters to face the head of the threat while the Iceborn dealt with the horrific beings that had sprouted from this ‘void’. The descent into the cavern was excruciating, as the warriors swept waves upon waves of these Voidborn tumbling to the bottom of the ravine, if there even was a bottom to reach.

It wasn’t until their passing over the 5th bridge that Wren started to sweat, while the monsters stood no chance against his blades there was a new threat presenting itself in the darkness, great glowing eyes present in the everlasting darkness of the ice. Watching their progress, analyzing their existence itself, it felt to Wren like they were looking into his soul itself, judging everything that he had done and everything that he will.

When they finally reached the end of all the tunnels, all the bridges, when the only things present were the feeling of the comforting chill and the unnerving gaze of these beings watching him. It wasn’t until then, when Wren was finally scared, that the gods appeared. Before Wren had time to even attempt to wield his blades, he heard words that he will never forget, “I’m so sorry” said Lissandra’s voice softly behind him.

He turned quickly as his blades grew burning hot from the freezing cold, everyone on the bridge that day was quickly entombed in True Ice halting their movement, even to that of an afterlife.

In the long years that awaited their imprisonment, the gods experimented on Wren from inside the prison. After discovering that his human soul was corruptible while his Iceborn body could withstand their power, they attempted to use the power in the True Ice to fuse themselves to Wren.

Yet the process, which bared many similarities to the ascension on Mt. Targon, was incomplete, instead of fusing themselves to Wren, they instead fused their powers to the true ice that had become intertwined with Wrens existence. These gods quickly fell into a slumber that would last many a years.

This new Dark Ice quickly overcame Wren, erasing the memories of the boy that had fought so dearly for his region, and created a being with the powers of a god that was hellbent on destroying everything that had been touched by the True Ice.

By corrupting his old true ice weapons and slowly changing the true ice that held him into Dark Ice, Wren was able to escape his prison without anyone noticing, and searches for the one person that he remembers. The person that he knew was connected to the True Ice, he would find Lissandra and make her pay for imprisoning him.

Passive (Corrupted Blades): Wren blades analyze his opponent, deciding the best way to corrupt their opponents. Every auto attack against a unit marks them for 5 seconds, refreshing on hit, upon applying a 4th mark Wren corrupts his opponent making them unable to basic attack Wrens allies, and corrupting their abilities for 1.5 seconds.

Abilities traveling from an enemy become corrupted if the enemy becomes corrupted during their travel time.

(Corruption): Corrupted abilities instead hurt Wrens enemies and slightly increases the defense of Wrens allies when hit.

Self-Corruption: Wren instead applies 2 marks per auto, and Corrupted Blades burn the enemies over a short time when they become Corrupted.

Q (Corrupted Pierce): Wren increases Xeo’s range by manipulating the Dark Ice, and pierces through enemies. The next auto attack (runs out after a second) increases Wrens basic attack range to his q range, this attack brings down Neve critically striking all enemies in a line

Self-Corruption: Wren can recast Corrupted Blade, pulling him and Dark Husk (if active) towards the enemy that he targets with Neves auto attack.

W (Dark Husk): Wren drops one of his blades, piercing the earth as it creates quickly a** Dark Husk** of himself. Dropping his blade halves his attack speed but allows him to use both hands, increasing his damage outputted by his basic attacks. After 3 seconds Wrens Dark Husk becomes operatable, by ctrl clicking Wren can command his Dark Husk to move and attack for 8 seconds, reactivating the ability allows Wren to swap places with his husk. Attacks pass through his Dark Husk.

Self-Corruption: Wren only loses ¼ of his attack speed and gains the ability to recast swap locations with his husk up twice in the 8 seconds. Attack that pass through his Dark Husk become corrupted.

E (Dark Frost): Wren strikes Xeo and Neve together, making some of the excess** Dark Ice** on them fall to the ground, covering the land with** Dark Frost**, enemies in the affected area have their movement speed and attack speed slightly reduced, as well as taking slightly increased damage from Wren and his husk.

Self-Corruption: If enemies in **Dark Frost **become Corrupted they become rooted for the duration of Corruption.

R (Self-Corruption): Wren focuses on the power of the gods inside of him, after channeling for 1 second he becomes entirely corrupted by the Dark Ice inside of him for 10 seconds. Gaining unique benefits to all of his abilities while also gaining a small amount of base stats (Auto range, attack speed, armor/mr, health, movement speed), but temporarily increases the cooldown of any abilities used when Self-Corrupted

Self-Corruption: Wren can recast Self-Corruption to end it early, healing him for an amount that is reduced the longer he was in Self-Corruption.
