Shadow Isles and Darkin Champion idea

So I like to write, and I like to play this game so I had an idea for a champion that was sort of inspired by Kayn & Rhaast, but I was thinking what if the host and darkin stayed as separate entities but worked together, and this is what I ended up thinking of. And Yes I realize that this is still extremely rough.

Rale (pronounced rail) & Gaast (pronounced like minecraft’s ghast.)

Rale is a retired mercenary. In his past he was an axe wielding frontline soldier for hire that rivaled, but didn’t match, Darius in skill. During his time as a mercenary Gaast, an axe Darkin, scouted him out and decided that Rale would be his new vessel. In between the time that Gaast scouted Rale and Gaast actually approached Rale, Rale had retired. Rale grew tired of his warring ways and decided to seek out a peaceful life. He started making money by selling lumber. He made his way to a magical forest on the edge of the Shadow Isles. All other lumberjacks were too afraid to harvest wood on the Shadow Isle, but due to Rale’s skill and convictions he is able to gather lumber in a manner that doesn’t disturb the forest so the spirits allowed him to do so, and Rale’s peaceful demeanor allowed him to retain much of his life force, although his appearance reflected his new home. His newfound peace loving ways didn’t appeal to Gaast but Gaast saw that Rale still had skill with his axe. Strangely enough Rale simply agreed to be a vessel for Gaast. Immediately after taking over Rale’s body Gaast goes on a rampage destroying a large portion of the forest Rale came to know as home. The spirits immediately responded by cursing Gaast with an insatiable rage, but also affected by the curse of rage Rale took over his body by force and decided that it was best to not let Gaast rampage, but because of Rale’s demeanor he attempts to compromise with Gaast. Eventually Gaast gave into Rale’s kindness and now the two work as a unit.

Gaast as a darkin was always incredibly intimidating but brute force was never his strength. Gaast was a calm schemer. His methods of war were to pull the strings from the shadows and only enter when the final blow needs to be dealt. He’d watch the war and entice enemies to fight each other from afar and swoop in late into the fight so he never looked weak.

Kit:

Passive: Calm and Collected: Rale gains rage as he’s in combat. (In Combat would have to be much tighter for this passive than other In Combat effects.) Rale gains and loses rage at a rate of 10 per second up to 100 rage. Rale gains 1,3,5 attack damage per 10 rage he posses. At max rage Rale drains himself at a rate of 10% of his max health per second. Once he can no longer pay the price of rage he losses all rage instantly

Q: Dreamwork teamwork: Rale takes a moment to prepare himself then vaults using Gaast as a pole. Rale strikes the ground upon landing. Functionally: After a two second channel, Rale can move during the channel but not change the direction of the spell, a Rale dashes 150 units in the decided direction. There is a small AoE at the end of the dash where Rale sticks Gaast into the ground and then Rale performs jump with a range of 500 units. Upon landing Rale does a conical AoE. Enemies hit by the center of the cone get rooted for .25 seconds. Enemies struck by the rest of the AoE gets slowed by 50% for .25 seconds. Scaling for this would be based on AD and Rage.

W: Gaast’s rage: Rale allows Gaast to take control temporarily. During Gaast’s control rage acquisition is doubled, Rale and Gaast gain an on-hit on all autos that drain health. Functionally: On toggle Rale and Gaast can gain a 1,2,3,4,5% (+1% per 90 bonus AD) max health on-hit that drains him for the same amount, and the rate of rage acquisition is doubled while toggled on. (Note that the self damage Rale & Gaast take would be based on their health.)

E: The Isles’ strength: Rale focuses on holding his life force for .5 seconds. Functionally: Rale & Gaast self stun for .5 seconds. If Rale & Gaast take enough damage to die during the stun the last source of damage is fully negated then Rale & Gaast are healed for 50/100/150/200/250 (+.4 AD) (Side note: I would want this skill to be able to be proc’d by Rale & Gaast’s passive.

Ultimate: Oopsie Daisy: Rale expels all of his rage by throwing Gaast straightforward. Gaast damages and knocks aside any enemy along the path. Rale is then filled with regret and travels to retrieve Gaast. Functionally: After a .25 second channel Rale throws Gaast dealing 50, 150, 250 (+0.3-1.3AD based on amount of rage at the time of throw. Enemies hit by Gaast are knocked aside a la Draven’s stand aside. Rale is then taunted to retrieve Gaast. Rale remains taunted until he retrieves Gaast. During the taunt Rale is capable of traveling over small walls but is slowed by 50% while doing so.

Appearance: Visually, cause I can’t do visual art, I imagine Rale appearing about the size of Lee Sin. Rale’s skin would be snow white and fairly long, think Yasuo's hair but not tied up. Rale would be wearing brown pants, a dark blue vest that had yellow trim, and similar yellow colored boots. His left arm would be a light blue/white-ish color, much like a corpse devoid of blood but with a little bit of Shadow Isles blue tinting thrown in there. His right arm, which he wields Gaast with, would be covered with black and red “armor” that is Gaast’s corruption. I imagine this being black scales with red skin underneath to indicate Gaast’s snake like actions before he was cursed. Rale’s face would be covered by Gaast’s corruption creating a sort of mask which has front facing horns that first protrude outwards sideways before turning forward and curving upwards like tusks. Gaast would appear as a war axe that has a similar length to Hecarim’s spear/halberd thingy, but has a much larger head. Gaast’s head would be a bit smaller than Darius’s axehead, but would be double sided.

Some potential dialogue: **On Select: **Gaast: I hate you. Rale, excessively giddy: I hate me too. We have so much in common. We should team up. On Select: Gaast: I just want to kill! Rale: No killing. Gaast: Just a little? Rale: Fine just a couple. On first movement: Gaast: New victims! On first movement: Rale: Oh another forest. On first movement: Rale, slightly dejected: I’m a merc again. On movement: Gaast: I can’t control the feet! On movement: Rale: Calm down, I’m moving. On movement: Rale: A good walk is always calming. Gaast: So is a good kill! On pentakill: Rale: I haven’t killed this many since I was a merc. On pentakill: Gaast: That feels better. Taunt: Gaast: I’ve seen better and I don’t even have eyes. Taunt: Gaast: Killing you won’t even satisfy my rage. Joke: Rale: Okay let’s calm down and take a few deep breaths. Gaast: NO! I want to fight. Rale: Or maybe we should slowly count to ten. Gaast: Only if we’re counting our kills. Joke: Gaast: Alright time to destroy. Rale: No. Gaast, in a whiney tone: But I want to. Rale: Remember what happened last time. Gaast, in a dejected tone: I got cursed. Laugh: Gaast laughs. Rale: That’s not very nice. When placing a ward: Gaast: The first step to killing is seeing. When placing a ward not in lane: The first step to survival is having a good light source. Upon buying black cleaver: Gaast: Wrong axe! Rale: Oops.

For voice I’m imagining Rale being a light hearted tenor similar to Rakan but not as energetic and Gaast being an always angry baritone.
