Elena, the Flickering Spark
Hi, everyone! I have a new idea that I think you'll enjoy. First off, yes Elena is pyromancer champion, but she is a different type. Instead of being all about destruction, she is about the other end of the magic of fire. Does she do damage? Yes. Is she only about damage? No. With that stated, let's get into the basics. Also, Elena doesn't summon fire per say. She uses a mystical pillar of flame as her power's catalyst, like how
uses a sphere (ball).
Basics
Homeland: Ionia
(For the Friends section, read the note below to understand why she has two conflicting friends)
Friends:
,
(Note: In Elena's lore, to be released shortly, will state her alliance between Zed and Shen. Neither of them know of her secret alliance with either side.)
Rivals: None
Class: Mage
Lane: MID or Support
__
Abilities:
Passive: Bond of Flame
Every 22 seconds (lowers naturally, cannot be affected by cdr) Elena is to create a Bond of Flame. The Bond is stronger if used on AoE and weaker if used on Targeted abilities. The bond deals 15-30 (+5% AP) magical damage per second on skillshots and 30-45 (+15% AP) magical damage per second if used on AoE, both of these heal Elena for 20-25 (+10% AP) health per second on AoE and 30-35 (+20% AP) health per second if used on skillshots. The passive lasts 3 seconds.
(The Bond also gives Elena true sight of her bonded target, but they also have true sight of her.)
__
Q: Magma's Touch
Range: 1175
Mana: 40/45/50/55/60
Elena orders her flame to strike a target. Upon doing so the target will be ignited for 30/35/40/45/50 (+25% AP) magical damage for 4 seconds. During these 4 seconds, Elena may teleport to her flame deal an additional 50-200 damage depending on missing health.
If used on an ally, the flame will heal them for 30/35/40/45/50 (+25% AP) per second and Elena may also teleport to them.
(Teleporting removes the heal / damage over time effect. If Elena doesn't teleport to her flame, her flame will drop where it last was)
Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6/5 seconds
__
W: Solar Flare
Range: 875
Mana: 60/75/90/105/120
Passive: Elena's flame burns nearby targets for 10/15/20/25/30 (+15% AP) magical damage per second they are near it.
Active: Elena forces her flame to unleash a devastating flare that deals 80/120/160/200/240 (+80% AP) magical damage and stuns targets hit for .5 seconds increases to 1 second at level 5 of this ability.
Cooldown: 9/7/5 seconds at levels 1/3/5 of this ability.
Using the active disables the passive effect. Additionally, while her flame is attached to a target because of her Q, the passive of her W will not affect them, but it will harm other enemy units.
__
E: Solidify
Range: 750
Mana: 80/85/90/95/100
Elena calls her flame back to her, upon doing so, she will gain a 30/35/40/45/50% resistance to damage for 1.5 seconds.
Cooldown: 15/13.5/12/10.5/9 seconds
__
R: From Ashes
Range: 975
Mana: 100
Elena creates a ring of ash in an area that ignites an begins to burn away in a clock-like fashion. At the end of burning, the ring of ash will ignite all enemy units within it for 300/450/600 (+100% AP) magical damage. The ring has a 2 second wind up time, however it cannot be stopped once placed, except if Elena is killed.
(The circle is pretty big.)
Cooldown: 140/100/60 seconds

Lore (WIP) Five years ago...The Bond of Flame
Rain, rain, and even more rain. It splashed through my mind as clearly as it did the night I was left here at this temple's front door. Left there by my mother in the middle of a storm that hollered and roared as the spirits waged war on Runterra. I could almost make out the sight of lightning bolts that scattered and fractured the sky like a sheet of black, broken glass. Then, like the grace of mystical being, light filled my weak little eyes and brought my eyes to the attention of some, withered yet kind-eyed man that spoke with a voice made of tailored silk. A man that I learned to be my master, my teacher... my father. Despite the fact that he isn't my biological father, he is the only family I'd ever known. Well, him and the other students that were taught and trained in this same temple. Some of them I could consider my brothers and sisters, but some feared for the gift I held. Some people fear me for my gift, while it draws other people to me. The thought forced a pillar of flame to erupt from my palm. A panicked yell cut through my thoughts like a knife through butter.
When I turned to look, I saw Zed, one of the many students of the temple, resting against a pillar of my part of the courtyard. It is a space, secluded space, but it is my small, seclude space. My paradise as some would say. In it, there is a small, elegant waterfall filled with bopping lily pads that sometimes have toads resting on them while ducks splash and twirl in the water. One of the ducks, Sergeant Sunshine, has become quite taken with me, as did a toad, ironically named Pickle.
“Zed? I mean, hello.” I spluttered, but Zed barely seemed to notice. I guess he’s gotten use to making a fool out of myself in front of him. I shook the thought of my mind as Zed opened his mouth to speak.
“Hello Elena, what’s my fellow orphan-in-arms up to now? Burning down the place it seems.” He said, bringing my attention back to him. I blushed at being caught off-guard, again.
“That’s me, a loose cannon.” I said with less energy than I intended, and this caught Zed’s attention. He pushed away from the pillar he leaned against and walked over to where I stood with a calm and leveled elegance that he learned from years of training in the art of the ninja.
When he was no more than a few feet from me, he stopped and started long and hard into my eyes with his dark, earthy brown ones. He felt almost like he was trying to read me like I read my scrolls and tomes. After a moment stuck like this, he opened his mouth to speak.
“Elena, is something matter? You don’t look nearly as fiery as usual.” He chuckled. I rolled my eyes at his jokes. If he were anyone else, I don’t know what I would do. I guess being the only other orphan out of an entire class of ninjas created some sort of bond between us.
“Do you really have to make those kind of jokes? Anyways, what did you want?” I asked. Zed looked at me with a confused glare.
“Did you forget that I am here to help train you? As you asked.” He replied. My eyes widened as I recalled the night before.
“Right, sorry. Shall we?” I said.
“Of course. I did some reading up on your skills… let’s start off with the Bond of Flame.” I nodded and as I fell into step with Zed as he taught me the Bond of Flame.
A few years later…A Twist of Hearts
“I’m impressed… to say the least. I’ve never know someone to capture the essence of their spirit so wholly before.” Shen said as he watched me conjure forth several flames, each one sparkling like a thousand rubies.
I laughed and extinguished the flames. “Thank you, I appreciate hearing that coming from you with you being the Master’s son and all.”
Shen looked at me with heavy eyes, in them I could almost see that storm that raged on inside him every day. Shen walks a hard and difficult path to ignore his heart and follow a path of judgment and morally. I sometimes felt sorry for him, despite my best intentions. The last thing anyone would want is for someone to pity them, but I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. Being the Master’s son isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
“You’re quite welcome, Elena, but please. Don’t associate me with my father. I already face that ordeal every other day from all of Ionia, I don’t need to hear it from you.” He said, his voice soft yet strong.
“You’re right, I’m sorry… I-”
“I’m not. I was born to do this. Emotions make us weak, that is something we must all learn.” He said.
“No, no person should have to give up being human for anyone or anything. Emotions don’t make us weak. I mean, what about love? Your father loves you, and he is the Elder Master of this temple. Zed loves you, and you love him, and you two are the best in the class. I love you too, Shen. Am I weak?” I said as I stared back into his eyes. Shen just shook his head and looked away.
“You don’t love me in the same way you love Zed. Love causes conflict. It clouds your judgment as a ninja, and that could be the difference between dying or living. It would be smart for you learn that.” He replied, in his usual emotionless tone.
“That is not true. I love you both equally well. You both taught how to control my magic. You were both there for me. You both made me feel welcome… why wouldn’t I love you?” I cried. I could feel the faint outline of a tear resting beneath my eye.
“No more lies, please. Go back to your studies, I am needed for training.” He said and before I got the chance to call out to him, he was gone. I bit my lip as I fought back the urge to cry, and for the first time in forever, I felt cold.
Two years later… The Reckoning
Zed and Shen entered the courtyard of the temple. It felt like another day of sparring matches. Even though I cannot participate in such events, I always enjoyed watching these. Time and time again, Zed and Shen proved they were the best of the class. But, there was something nagging at me about today. I couldn’t help but feel that it had something to do with Zed. Ever since last week, something changed about him, something dark. Where I used to feel safe, I now feel strange and weary. Perhaps I should alert the Head Master…
The thought came a moment too late because now Zed and Shen stood, blades ready, to begin their match. Usually, I’d sit and anticipate the match, but with the feeling nagging at me, I knew I couldn’t just sit still. I stood from where I sat, secluded in my part of courtyard, and began working my way towards where the Master stood. The sound of steel clashing against steel sounded out as I worked my way through the crowd of my fellow students. All of them watched and stared as Zed and Shen fought and sparred like Gods. I stopped every now and then to note their perfect execution of dashes, reflections, as well as other moves.
Everything seemed normal, but that all changed with a single move. The crowd gasped when I stood no more than a few feet away from the Master. The sound of steel clashing against the ground force me to look towards Zed and Shen, and I felt my mouth open wide with disbelief. Zed stood victorious over Shen, who fell to one knee his hand clutching an open wound. Blood dripped in a small pool beneath him, and for a moment everyone stared in complete shock, everyone except me.
“Zed!” I shouted as I threw myself forwards. I barreled through the students that blocked my way, refusing to be stopped until I stood between him and Shen. Yet, I was beaten to the cause. Somehow, the Elder Master stood beat me to them. Several of the students in the crowd fell to the aid of Shen. Together, they lifted him and carried him way to mend his wounds. I watched as they carried him away, but I quickly changed my attention to Zed, who stood proud and tall to have finally beaten Shen, and I could tell that he waited to be praised for his accomplishment, but he received something completely different.
“Zed… I have no words for what I just witnessed. You… my son… why, how could you do this? The shadows are dark and malicious path that shatter the power of balance. You have failed greatly, my child.” The Master’s voice was soft and heavy with sadness. Zed stared at him with a mixture of anger and confusion.
“But, I beat him. You cannot be happy for my accomplishment? One that I have worked hard to earn?” Zed hissed.
“No, because you came about it in devious means. I see now that you are not welcome here… Zed, leave and never come back here.” The Master said, his voice stern and hard.
“No!” I shouted.
“Elena, this matter doesn’t concern you, leave.” He commanded. The Master, without speaking, commanded Zed to leave. Zed, defeated, threw his blade to the ground and turned without a word. Driven my sadness, I rushed to face the Master.
“Master, please, he needs you now more than ever. Teach him to follow the path of enlightenment… I-”
“No, what done is done. Now, if you’ll excuse, I must tend to my son.” He replied with a cold harshness.
I turned to watch Zed pass through the temple’s gates, but he was already gone. I turn around weakly and saw Shen being tending to by three different healers, who seemed to have no effect on Shen condition. Determined as I was, I turned and marched towards Shen, my hand doused in a warming flame. I would not lose both my friends today, and I was determined to see that through.
Present Time
“He has no idea?” Shen asked.
“No, our home has changed much and I can still feel of the fear of that night whenever I go there, but he has no idea of our alliance.” I replied.
“Thank you, Elena. I thank you for service.” Shen replied without looking up from the scroll he had sprawled across his desk.
“Shen, I won’t harm him. He is still Zed to me. I still care about him.”
“I know. I know.”
“Even if you don’t follow your heart, I always will, which is why I am here. I am still as loyal to you as we were when we were young, but the same can be said as about Zed.” I said.
“I cannot tell if that is love talking or you, Elena.” Shen said coldly.
“What is the difference?”
“I already told you. Love clouds your judgment. He murdered our friends, our family… my father. Love is a poison that confuses you and tricks you into believing anything, even if that thing is a monster.” Shen snapped.
“You want revenge. I understand that.”
“How? You have never lost anyone you love. You didn’t see your parents die. How could you possibly know what I am going through?” Shen said, as he turned his attention from the scroll and onto me.
“Your father was as much as a father to me as he was to you… and to Zed.” I said, choosing my words carefully.
“Yes, and my father loved him, and Zed killed him, remember? Yet, you love him still.”
I raised a brow at his words. “Is this what this about? Me loving Zed? I thought I told you I love you both equally?”
“Actions speak louder than words. You cried his name that one fatal day, remember? You took to his teachings faster than you took to mine, you know that correct?” Shen said.
“Yes, I did those things, but I stayed by you. I didn’t pursue Zed, I chose to stay and heal your wounds. And here am I still by your side. I am allied with both him and you, but here I am here. Don’t ever think that I love you less.” I said in my softest and gentlest voice.
“Then prove it.” Shen said, and I didn’t whole back the impulse that sounded through my blood. As quick and light as air, I planted a single kiss on his cheek before turning away and walking off into the shadows.
The end… or is it?
“Balance exists in its own way in all of us. If we fail to acknowledge, we may lose ourselves.” – Elena

Gameplay
Elena is a high-damage, sustain support or mid lane champion. She is able to burn her foes from afar and give her allies the strength to fight on. Her abilities give her the power to turn the tide of a teamfight into a more favorable outcome.
When played as a support, Elena excels as providing a constant, passive support for her allies and herself. She is also able to set up kills for her allies with her stun / root, and allow them to set up their own cc for her own ultimate. Allies who remain close to Elena's flame will feel her heals the most, so try to position it to keep your carries alive.
When played as a mid lane carry, she excels at dealing high damage magic damage to those that try to stop her. However, to people that are able to dodge her flame's wrath are able to take Elena down easier than others, but a good Elena would be able to turn a dive into a kill for herself. In teamfights, when allies are able to cc enemies, that provides time for her to set up her ultimate.
