Dragons on the Rift -- Aurelion Sol, Ao Shin, and the future of dragon champions

This post is a question. I want to know what kind of Dragon champions could possibly exist in League now that Aurelion Sol has been released. To begin, I will quickly sum up the Dragon champions currently in League. (This will be very general, anything with a dragon theme.)

AurelionSol Shyvana

...Well, that's only two. So I suppose there couldn't be too many ideas already taken... right? Until I realized that the champions weren't the only ones taking up thematic-space. (Whatever that is.) The standard old Rift Dragon takes up several slots too. We have Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. Notably, this makes the 'typical' dragon body-type rather well populated. Aurelion Sol is a fusion of European and Asian styles, and Shyvana is distinctly Drake-like. Therefore, the typical dragon forms are already used, with the possible exception of a purely Asiatic dragon or wyrm. (Although Rek'sai is almost Wyrm-like). As far as unused theme-space goes, it's almost infinite, but not everything fits the idea of a dragon. Thunder dragons (ex. Ao Shin) are unclaimed territory, as are Frost Dragons. However, any new dragon champion has an even bigger problem than an original idea; they must be able to endure comparison to Aurelion Sol. Aurelion Sol is a being so majestic and powerful that no ordinary dragon can stand next to him and be seen as equal. Therefore any new dragons must do one of two things: be comparable to Aurelion Sol in majesty, or not give two wingbeats about it. However, it would seem strange to have an inferior dragon fighting Aurelion in the Rift, leaving most of the standard dragon options feeling lackluster.

So my question for all of you is this: how could Riot deal with the problem they've set for themselves (that is: too high a bar) If they release an 'ordinary' dragon, will it feel like a minion (because of the Dragons we like to murder) or will it be fine? Would Riot need to release only mystical/epic dragons now? Will they be stuck not releasing any new dragon champions?

Anyway, I'm curious to see what other people think of this problem. (And if you know of any similar posts, please direct me to them. I feel like I may have seen some in the past when I wasn't as interested.)

Ordinary or not, they'd have to give a new dragon some pretty unique silhouette, with Shyvana being the half Wyvern-sort-of-dragon with a weird, horned helmet, and Aurelion Sol being the long & wingless serpentine dragon with the Stargems Crown on his head.

Personally, I feel like they might try doing a fat dragon, or some really bulky one, at least. Something much beefier than what we've already seen. Or maybe more-than-one small dragon (like a whelp) as one champion- Like a bunch of 'low-flames'. It could be entertaining and cool. A hydra is a silhouette not yet taken, too.

What do you think? :P

Would a Couatl count as a dragon? Because an incredibly flexible winged serpent from the Kumungu Jungle would be a pretty unique silhouette.
