Mimi, Mistress of Mimicry

(2/17 edits: Upped the cooldowns on skills. Changed the description of E. Lowered the bonuses granted by her passive. Made Q a skillshot & reduced the duration of true sight.

Mimi, a curious cat turned human through Singed's experiments, has decided to join the League of Legends in order to observe and learn the skills and abilities of other champions.

Although primarily a Support character, Mimi's roles can vary greatly once she reaches level 6 and obtains her Ultimate, which allows her to swap places with another champion, copying all of their abilities and assuming their form for a short period. Depending on how the player builds her, Mimi can strategically choose who to target with her ultimate to give her team the most benefit.

Base Stats Health 490 – 1790 | Attack damage 55 – 108 Health regen. 5.8 – 16.2 | Attack speed 0.644 (+0% – 39.1%) Mana 322 – 975 | Armor 21.5 – 79.6 Mana regen. 8.5 – 15.2 | Magic res. 30.0 Range 550 | Mov. speed 325

Passive: Reflexes Being hit by an enemy attack or ability grants Mimi 5 / 10 / 15 increased movement speed for 1 second.

Q: Cat's Eyes Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana | Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 PASSIVE: Mimi's vision is increased, granting her 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 increased Sight Range. ACTIVE: Mimi pierces a target with her gaze, dealing 30 / 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 (+60% AP) magic damage and granting True Sight on the target for 2 seconds. (Skillshot in a straight line, much like Ahri's E)

W: Pounce Cost: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 Mana | Cooldown: 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 ACTIVE: Mimi leaps forward 500 units, dealing 40 / 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 (+40% AD) Physical damage and knocking aside all enemies in her path. Any enemies standing in the landing area take 150% damage.

E: Reflect Cost: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 Mana | Cooldown: 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 ACTIVE: Mimi uses her skills of adaption to place a mirror on an allied or enemy champion for 3 seconds. For allied champions, the mirror reflects 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10% (+20% AP) of the damage from spells back on the enemy that inflicted it. For enemy champions, the shield redirects 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50% (+20% AP) of any heals cast on the enemy champion to Mimi.

R: Copycat Cost: 100 / 100 / 100 Mana | Cooldown: 160 / 130 / 100 ACTIVE: After a brief delay, Mimi trades places with an enemy champion, replacing her sprite with the sprite of the enemy champion and replacing her Q, W and E skills with the skills of the enemy champion (as well as removing all cooldowns that she may have had from previously cast skills). After 3 / 4 / 5 seconds, or after reactivating R, Mimi returns to her usual form and regains her own skills, as well as any cooldowns associated with them before transforming.

Lore Shunned and spurned by the locals of Ionia, Mimi sought refuge in the southern forests. It was there that she met Ahri, a fox who shared her curiosity towards the human world. For a time, the two lived peacefully, until one day Ahri disappeared. Mimi left the forest, searching Runeterra for her friend. Instead, she found Singed. Or rather, Singed found her. The mad scientist picked the stray cat up by the scruff of her neck, his lips curving into a cruel smile as he gloated about how he'd needed a new lab rat.

Singed forced a potion down Mimi's throat, something that tasted awful and burned. It only took a few seconds before she could feel herself changing. The world seemed to get smaller, when in reality she was getting bigger. His potion a success, Singed began to laugh with delight, noticing too late that his new guinea pig was already running off on her new feet.

Mimi wasn't sure how she knew how to run on only two feet, only that it came naturally to her... Just like everything else in the following few weeks would. Mimi adapted to her newfound humanity quickly, though not always in the best ways. She used her abilities of adaption to take on the likeness of those that she studied, stealing from their families without them ever knowing who she really was.

Eventually, as was only naturally from living among the humans, she came to crave power. And so she found herself at the doors of the Institute of War, eager to study--and copy--the skills of the champions she had heard so much about.

Plays & Counterplays Mimi is an exciting champion to play due to her versatility, allowing players to build her according to strategies that change every game. While she does not excel as a tank, her engage allows her to enter enemy lines through either a hard engage using her W or a more stealthy approach with her R.

Using her ult requires quite a bit of tactics: While it transfers her into the enemy ranks, it also transfers an enemy into her team. Depending on the situation, she may decide to swap places with an ADC, possibly giving her team an easy kill, or she may swap with another support in order to use one of their own abilities against them. Because she takes on the sprite of the enemy champion, the other team may have difficulty spotting her in time before it is too late. Her ult must be timed properly, or she may just turn into an easy kill for the enemy team.

Mimi is an excellent support counter for champions that include a heal in their kit due to her ability to redirect the heals to herself. This skill must be used tactically, however, as it is her only form of sustain or defense and she is extremely vulnerable while it is on cooldown, especially if she has built as a tank.

Mimi lacks any hard CC, and only gains the use of it through her ult if she mimics a character with a CC effect on either their Q, W or E.

Although her passive, W and clever use of her ult allow excellent opportunities for escaping kills, all of her skills have exceptionally high cooldowns and she does not do well in extended fights.

Drawing is by the fabulous Moegiiro on Deviantart. Unfortunately I have terrible drawing skills, but I picture her as looking something like Xiao from Dark Cloud.

I like the Kit, but her Reflect and Thornmails. 0_0 Makes me cri. But when she "Switches places" does she do an Urgot like switch or this only a Ability switch.

Edit: Nvm she does Switch places.

I have to admit, this is a pretty good kit for a thief/mimic character. A couple notes.

  • She does have CC if her pounce pushes enemies away from her.

  • Gods help you if you say slingshot.

  • True Sight on a "Support" is REALLY iffy, especially with it being near perma with max CDR.

  • With CDR again, her Reflect has an almost 50% uptime.

  • Explain -why- her shield reflects damage/healing. I get that's it's loosely based off of a mirror mimicking/reflecting what is in front of it, but it doesn't tie that well thematically with the rest of her kit and identity from a logical standpoint. Any champion that had an ability like that would become the new Teemo in no time.

  • When she R's an enemy, do the rest of the enemy team see her as an ally or enemy? This is important for certain abilities and spells. Does she keep her current mana total when she Ults, or does she steal the enemies as well? If she keeps her's, what happens if she targets someone who doesn't use mana (HP, Energy, no resource champions)? What happens if she Ults a dual form champion? What happens if she targets another Mimi? What happens if her target dies before the delay is completed?

In addition, screw you for tempting me with Xiao (or Miao, as I always name her). Dark Cloud is the reason I got into game design. Not because "oh wow, this game is amazing!", but because it just failed at several aspects while having such a unique feel to it that I thought it deserved better.

i like the kit overall but that passive is way to OP to me, rito wouldn't allow that. item 3070

A good less op passive could be whenever an allied champion is attacked with a passive or ability she regains a small amount of mana

I don't know about all the actual values, but as a concept I like it. First though you should mention whether you see this character as. I get the feeling of an AP Fighter. Their passive and Pounce suggest they would be more of a hit and run fighter. I think the character should be a yordle rather than a cat girl but whatever. You didn't mention if the abilities would be skill shots, AOE's, or targeted spells. The Q - Cat's Eyes should affect a fan shape area and do less damage the further away they are. Their E should be called Redirect rather then Reflect. And should affect all healing to include self heals/lifesteal/spellvamp. For their R (ult), I like the idea of copying another character, but I think that it should just copy targeted character's ult. Granting you it's usage for X number of seconds. With the ability to copy anyone within the character's vision range. (of course this presents problems when their ult is an empowerment like Karma or Heimerdinger, or a transformation like Shyvana or Quinn, requires another champ like Kalista's, Mmm Problems)

That ulti is very troll like, it'll hurt your own team more than the enemy, since your team now has to try and track downwho is who.
