Lore: “Where, In The World, Is Charlotte La Chéri ee.” La Chéri hummed the tune quietly to herself with a wide impish smile, walking down the streets of Bilgewater. The brisk salty air was so nice after a long and sweaty trip into Shuriman Deserts. She trimmed her finger down to her ‘Prime Suspect’ for the riddle.
Suspect List [s]Summoners[/s]: That’s silly, they’re all dead.
Air: All around us, on our eyes, priceless cause you breathe it or die. Only trouble being void creatures/constructs might not breathe, and are allowed in the contest anyway. Human centric? Maybe. Regardless, some kind of physical monolith or orb or air is likely the best bet. Prime Suspect
The one thing that La Chéri had to really keep in mind was that the contest giver ‘expected people to be insane as a sign of superiority’, which meant that the puzzle might not make logical sense. She would assume ‘some’ logical sense, no way to proceed otherwise. Insane wasn’t proper, you needed to be Super Sane, to do all the logistical gymnastics of a detective sleuthing out a case.
The major problem was, determining that the artifact was wind incarnate didn’t do Jill-All to tell you ‘where’ it was. So for the moment, La Chéri pondered, and swaggered on in to her favorite Pub, Foxy’s Cove. Enough seriousness for tonight, though, time to stir some trouble so she could have a bar brawl for an evening show.
Detective Charlotte La Chéri, The Mechanics
Character Stat Block HP: 556-1922 HP/5: 5.9-15.5 Mana: 230-1010 Mana/5: 8.0-18.1 Attack Damage: 49-109 Attack Speed: Armor: 22-80 Magic Resist: 30 Range: 550 Movespeed: 335
Passive: Vagabond Swindler (La Chéri: “Tom likes eatin Peep Peeps, across the seven seas, who am I to disagree?”) Whenever La Chéri sells an item that she has held for at least 45 seconds, or uses a consumable, she adds the gold worth of the sold/used item to her Peep Peep Trinket. Items La Chéri sells sell at 70% price. Cherie starts the game with Peep Peep, and cannot sell it.
Peep Peep: Is a little dove named Tom that hangs around La Chéri and gives her company. Acts as a Scrying Orb, except with half the cooldown. Can be upgraded for 250 gold that makes the item act as a Farsight Orb, and adds 250 gold to her Peep Peep. Peep Peep gives stats based on how much gold is in the passive, but will not grant more stats than the worth of half the gold La Chéri has accrued over the course of the game.
Stats per 1k Gold (gp value efficiency) AD +5 (180 gp) Attack Speed 4% (120 gp) AP +5 (108.75 gp) Crit Chance 3% (150 gp) Health 60 HP (160 gp) Mana 60 Mana (120 gp) Move Speed 4% Movespeed (158 gp) Totaled together, Peep Peep’s statline is worth 996.75 per 1000 gold, assuming you care about all derived stats. Additionally, when La Chéri has spells on Cooldown, Peep Peep gains additional Base Stats and Scaling. Q: Attack Damage: 8/11/14/17/20 + (1 per 20 AP) + (5 per 1k gp) W: Life Steal 6%/8%/10%/12%/14% + (4% per 1k gp) E: Crit Damage 6%/8%/10%/12%/14% + (4% per 1k gp)
Spell List
Q (Overt Measures): (La Chéri: “Silence THIS!”) Active: Launch a Pass-Through Skillshot that silences enemy champions until they spend 1 second not moving, attacking, activating anything, or being Hard CC’d. Mana Cost: 40 Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 Range: 1000 Skillshot Width: Approximately Morg Q. Missile Speed: 1800
W Passive (Disguise Kit) (La Chéri: “Give ‘em the Ol’ Razzle Dazzle.”): You count as an allied champion when an enemy champion targets you with an ability/item, or for abilities/items of enemy champions that only affect allied champions. Any ability that grants sight of you, True Vision, or using the active, neutralizes this passive for 4 seconds. Active (Twist The Knife) (La Chéri: “They’ll let you get away with murder.): Reduces the armor of target enemy by 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% +(5% per 100 AP) for 4 seconds, and deals 70/95/120/145/170+120% Bonus AD in physical damage. This ability applies on-hit effects and can crit. Mana Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Cooldown: 25/23/21/29/17 seconds Range: 225
E (Magic Bullet): (La Chéri: "Apply directly to the forehead!") Active: Select a targetable enemy or structure and begin charging. Click this ability again to launch an empowered autoattack at them, with damage and a random status effect based on the length of the charge, with charge at maximum power after 3 seconds. This ability does not interrupt other spell casts, or movement, but does prevent other autoattacks. If the target leaves the minimum or maximum leash range, the ability is cancelled. This ability applies on-hit effects, always crits, and deals +20%/30%/40%/50%/60%+critchance%+critdamage% bonus damage to towers. This ability cannot be reactivated before 1 second of charge.
Physical Damage: 75% Total AD, plus 5% Total AD and 5% AP per 0.1 seconds charged. Charges damage for up to 3 seconds. Damage at 1 second (Minimum): 125% AD pre-crit Damage at 2 seconds: 175% AD pre-crit Damage at 3 seconds (Max): 225% AD pre-crit Status Effect Sheet: (Multiply the duration of the CC by the number of seconds charged, min 1, max 3) 0.75 second Blind 1 second Root 1.25 second 60% slow 0.75 second Silence 0.5 second Stun 0.5 second Knockup
Mana Cost: 40 Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 Seconds Connection Range: 475 Leash Range: 150-750
R (Globetrotter) (La Chéri: “And welcome to the Slam Jam.”): Active: La Chérie lets out a loud fanfare across the map. For the next 8 seconds, allies can click next to the portrait of an ally, on a Red Hat, to start a 1.25 second channel to teleport to that allied champion. If either champion takes damage from a Champion during this teleport, the teleport is cancelled. Both champions glow during this duration, and the ally being jumped to can still act freely. Mana Cost: 0 (La Chéri loses 25 mana every time a champion teleports with this ability) (The Red Hat is Greyed out if La Chéri is too OOM to process a teleport). Cooldown: 200/175/150 Range: Global, restricted to other allied champions
Gameplay Tips& Tricks, and Counterplay Too Passive La Chéri’s passive rewards buying consumables very highly. Buy dem wards, chug those elixirs. Go for a Triple Dorans Blade opener, you can sell ‘em for stacks later. End game make sure to just sell and rebuy items to fill up your passive, and while there ‘is’ a cap, Peep Peep records past that cap, so that if you fuel it past the cap you’ll continue to accrue stats as you gain gold.
Q Silence All The Things! There is a lot of tactical choice here. Do you use this early, to get the stats? Late, to cc the diving enemy, but go without your steroid? Keep the enemy still to Twist The Knife? Also, make sure when using this on a jungle camp to vamp hp that you don’t just blow the spell into an area where you let enemies know where you are.
You can get rid of this in 1 second, if you choose to. You do need to at least consider ducking and weaving, and not just brainlessly treat this as a 1 second hard cc, because other hard cc ‘resets’ the duration. Do note that ‘trying and failing’ to cast a spell still resets the duration, so don’t just jam your spell keys waiting for the silence to fade. Sometimes you might need to duck and dodge for a little first, and sometimes if you’re an ADC you don’t care about the light show and just wanna keep pounding your targets with autos.
W Examples of Targeted: (Ex Ryze (RIP In Peace), Diana R, ) Examples of Non-Targeted: (ex: Lux E, Thresh Lantern, Janna Passive, Locket Solari Active, Aegis Passive). Take that Thresh Lantern! Bask in that Soraka R! Get AS from Ezreal W! Shove that OK down Rammus’ throat! This is your tank buster versus dive hard enemies.
For enemies, don’t leave Jayce Acceleration gates where they can be abused, or Bard health kits where she can nom them. Remember, the passive can be negated in the same ways as you counter stealth champions, except she isn’t literally stealthing all over the map. Autoattacks still work, and so do non-targeted damage spells. There’s surprisingly not that many point-and-click abilities left in the game, Riot’s done a good job removing them. Try to edge out of 225 range of her to avoid stepping into the active burst as long as possible, until you can reliably down her.
E Le Chéri’s primary steroid isn’t just ‘click to gain statz, it’s a charge ability to unload Massive Damage onto a target once they’ve held still. Man, between that and no escapes she’s gonna have a lot of fun in League Of Dashes. Remember that you can’t autoattack while charging this ability, and that if you don’t click it and the target goes out of range, into stealth, or simply ‘in’ your face, the ability cancels. You’re basically investing time you could have spent autoattacking for easier fluidity and bonus damage, though if you get more than 1 attack per second this will be ‘losing’ you damage outside of the guaranteed crit. Pop it early to get the cc and hope it’s a suitable one? Charge to maximum for the biggest 1-shot? Just beware of thornmail.
This is your steroid, so you can mark a tower, then back off and charge, and effectively ‘crit’ the tower, provided the enemies don’t chase you too far off. The dream is to charge up, Twist The Knife, then immediately unleash this for Massive Damage and Massive Life Steal. Just make sure not to get too close and cancel the Magic Bullet.
Playing around this, remember that getting in too close ‘or’ going too far will break the leash. Remember that this is basically like she’s constantly autoattacking you, but with extended range and backloading the damage for bigger returns. If she gets greedy and goes for 3 seconds, just flash out of the range (or on top of her scrawny butt) and cancel it entirely. Be wary that this is a ‘random’ cc, so once the ability hits you make sure you know what crowd control you’re inflicted with.
R Teleport Erry Day, Erry Where. Are you an ADC Chérie, your support just went back to buy during laning phase, and you wanna rotate top? Pop ulti, support tp to you, you tp to top laner, top laner tp to support, support tp to you. Maybe give your mid a free gank entry while you’re at it.
Enemies, when you hear the Fan Fare, something tricky’ll happen. The teleports are limited to champions only, so if everyone dog piles into a single champion, try to catch them all in an aoe while they’re boxed in. Remember, ‘any’ damage makes them have to restart the channel, so poor teemo doesn’t need a stun to stop the channel.
Lore Challenge Completion Bilgewater Ability with Global Range [R] Ability with gold interaction [Passive] Firearm in Kit [Silenced Pistol] La Chéri: “In addition, I’ve scoured the continent, st-ahem, Borrowing techniques from everywhere to stash into my kit.” Bandle City Ability that affects Player Model [W has a different character model when Disguised and Undisguised] [Q being active changes the silencer pistol pewpews of her autoattack to loud bangs audio wise] Demacia Has an ability that pierces armor, at Melee Range (La Chéri: “Hey this is waaay outside the requirements I can cheat a lil’.”) [W] Frel’Jord No ability connected to ice or snow [All of them] [Relm: Wow, you’re outright cheating now aren’t you.] [La Chéri: “Sssshhhhhhh.”] Ionia Ability that heals and deals damage. [Q, “La Chéri Is granting AD and Lifesteal to do autos and ‘heal and damage’ off of it cheating? Probably. So be it.”] Noxus La Chérie: “They didn’t let me in.” : ( Piltover Ability that offers Teleportation [R] Shurima Ability that Blinds/Silences for a duration depending on time in AoE. [Q ‘kind’ of fits this one, except it’s until you stay ‘in’ an area rather than ‘leaving’ an area] Void Ability that infinitely stacks. [Passive] (Relm: “Wait you could sneak into the ****ing void but n-“ La Chérie: “SSSH.”) Zuan Item in inventory that effects gameplay significantly. [Peep Peep Trinket]
Tidbits and Thoughts, on Trivia and Mechanics: Says her name, and some of her mannerisms, are based on an ancient dead language known to her family and a few others. Questionable how true this is. Peep Peep is specifically Scrying Orb because nobody ever uses that, so ‘forcing’ it into the kit is a sapphire opportunity. For a brief while I thought ‘Kamiroo Wolf’ meant ‘Warwick’s ascended form to be counterpart to URF as the devil to his god’. La Chéri’s passive rewards buying consumables very highly. Buy dem wards, chug those elixirs. Specifically orienting the rest of her kit to be not-support so this doesn’t synergize too well with that role. This passive’s stats were based on Trinity Force, but is both less efficient and doesn’t hold the passives. When looking up crits on the wiki, the word ‘critical’ or any shortening isn’t in the statistic. It’s just called ‘strike chance’. La Chéri: “I prefer ninja’s to pirates. Just don’t tell anybody back at port.” Relm: There’s still the individual contestants, you didn’t make something for them. La Chéri: “Yeah but that’s not a place so… laziness wins again!”
Secret Challenge: Vishas v Charlotte, A Barroom Blitz
“Ow!”
All things considered, Charlotte was having a pretty good time up to this point. Mug of Ale, relaxing time, getting two boys to fight over her with just a little misdirection. Unfortunately, her good ‘friend’ bar owner knew what she was doing, cause she did it every time she came to the pub. He enjoyed it as well, I mean what draws in business like a lot of activity? This time however, well, look at that newcomer to the pub. Let’s shove him into her. She’ll be fumin’ later tonight when she finds out, but she’s lookin’ a little too haughty there. It’s all in good fun, aye?
So that’s how La Chéri found herself stumbled halfway onto the ground, drenched in liquor. “Oh, ’ey, looks like some new fella don’t know who ye are, dolly~” Which elicited quite a reaction from the woman. “Oh my-I just wanted to relax for a night, damnit I’m on a case! And don’t call me doll!”
For some reason this stirred quite the reaction out of Charlotte, much more than having to wring drink out of her shirt and hair. Probably just a pet name, what would be very unlikely would be if it were some kind of dark reminder of a childhood La Chéri would wish to forget.
“Don’ blame me, he’s the one tryin to pick you up.” The bartender was grinning wide, looking in the other direction once Charlotte stood up and brushed her skirt off. “Oh, he is, huh.” Expression flat and thoroughly roughed up, stepping forward. “I see this act, well I ain’t for the accident routine to slip me intah bed.”
So that’s how Vishas found himself face to face with the dainty thing on front of him, with all that transpired in the span of five or so seconds. Vaiya foresaw this misunderstanding, perhaps indeed leading Vishas here precisely at this time for it to ‘happen’.
Staff raised, end glowing, Vishas began his incantation, only to watch the grinning vigor replace with an annoyed stare. “Hey hey hey, no. Drop the beat stick, no magic bullets. This is fisticuffs, non-lethal duelin. An’ you’re lucky, cause I’m a sharpshooter. Natural weapons only.” A smirk crept onto her face, the couples at the bar nodding in assent, which only confused Vishas.
Palm connected to the chin bone, and Vishas was flat on his back atop the staff he dropped. La Chéri normally would have taunted, but she only stared into space with a dazed expression. At Vaiya’s beckoning he did not return the surprise blow in her glaze, and instead got his own idea while tending to his jaw.
“Excuse me, one second. I need to unload myself of my… heavy burdens.” One by one, totems slammed down. This was a perfectly good excuse to get an uneven advantage. With his newly found power, Vishas triumphantly stepped forwards.
A moment. Another moment. Abruptly, Charlotte laughed and retracted her extended arm. “Yeah, sure, why not. A little magic’s allowed, long as non-lethal, and … on second thought, intentionally make a mess. This is your fault, innt it.” Her glance went to her good friend behind the bar, whose momentary guilty surprise was confirmation enough.
With his totemic buff streams, Vishas would have a huge advantage, and soon be done with this senseless fight.
That was not how the fight proceeded. Vaiya’s foresight was all that kept Vishas standing, blocking and dodging at all. Despite being a good foot smaller, Charlotte’s joyous giggles streamed like a brook, with a judo swing slamming Vishas onto a table.
“Vaiya, this would be, nngh! Tenfold easier if you would stop empowering her as well!” “I cannot.” “You what.” “Her power, she steals the magic out of her surroundings. Think, Vishas, what can you do, possessing this knowledge? Quickly.”
Vishas stepped back, heel into staff and staff into totem. Marshen roots swept and crept, under La Chéri’s feet, slinging her into the roof with a whip-crack-slam. Before she knew it, Vishas was upon her, legs pinning her arms and hands on her neck. “Do you concede?”
Hollers came from the bar and jeers, who was this new guy anyway? C’mon Chéri, don’t let him get you like that! “Now, after we subdue, we find a place to talk. Her capabilities are potent, many of which she restrains here. To convince her to aid us, there are things to consider. She is a free spirit, won’t want to be chained to a hard agreement.”
“Jovial, but very serious and manipulative. Greed-driven too, but considerably less than you’d expect from the primer I gave you when we first arrived about Bilgewater denizens.” Charlotte struggled uselessly, she was fast and skilled, but once pinned down the strength differential was hard to overcome.
Currently searching for the prize to Kamiroo’s contest. The answer to which is surprisingly elegant, but irrelevant. We can talk about that later. Falls in an odd place on the morality scale compared to the others. Has done a lot of unsavory things in the past, but deep down she’s a scared child who misses her-”
Charlotte abruptly escaped through… some kind of magic. Something. Charlotte stood on a table a good distance away, and narrowed her eyes. “I, am not, a child!” A pause filed the air, and confusion soon turned to understanding for Vishas. “I, did not mean to insinuate anything. Can we stop this senseless fighting? Please?”
La Chéri shrugged, heaving a sigh and slumping on the table. By now the crowd was thoroughly confused, but the action was dying down, so sated with their carnage they mostly turned back to their own business, and the poker game with the big stakes on the other side of the room.
“That’s kinda rude, you know. Telepathy and all, tryin’ to suck my brains out.” Vishas sagely stood upright and leant on his staff. “It isn’t telepathy. I’m just omniscient.” He received a stare from Charlotte, and the couple others that were watching. “I know everything. And I would like to ask for your help. I don’t have qualms with that, I’ve worked with people that have done far worse things than the a-”
Charlotte was using that… whatever she was doing to move again, with a knife placed at Vishas’ throat, and a hand over his mouth, and the shaman remained perfectly calm with a smile to contrast her icy glare. “Not another word. This is a pub. Have you no tact?”
She stepped back, heaving a sigh and wiping her forehead. “Anyway, here’s my card. I’m sure you know a lot, I have an inside scoop. Now I ‘really’ need to unwind, though. Forget partying, I need to conk out. We’ll talk again soon.”
“Here’s a few pieces though, you’re prolly broke by the looks of it. Go buy yourself a drink, or a harlot, and enjoy yourself.” The woman laughed, and hopped on over the bar counter. No thud or jingling of the nearby bottles. Her bartender smiled a little, giving a cursory glance, then raised his hand to Vishas.
“So, the lass tells me you may want a drink, aye?”
