Ozhirim new zone in runeterra

uninhabited by humans there once fell a star but within the core and crust of this star was a crystal glowing in rythm with the tranquility of its surroundings, pulsing like a beating heart seemingly trading energies with the earth over time the star had imbedded itself in the earth and thus was able to better connect with the life of the area around.

Where it made it's home rings similar to a magic seals had become visible eminating with this intricate ebb and flow of natural and cosmic energy Radiant and flourecent these laylines held an influx disrupting and redirecting the force of gravity this first started as mere dust and pebbles remaining suspended but over time the effects grew stronger, raising larger and larger geodes to the point where even strata were coming free of the ground

The crystal, the star had begun tearing up and assimilating the surrounding rocks and reconstructed them around itself growing in size, levitating silently amassing more feeding on the earth to grow even larger.

But who could stop this so far from inhabitants, uneffected the animals carried on with there routine survival but not all.

With the floating fountain spouting streams of energy some creatures grew curious and started living close to the star which had now formed into a mountain in the form of two pyramids connect at their bases now covered in foliage still holding bolders suspended and orbiting in a twisting trail from the sacred geometry to the ground, where the laylines had now inscribed a large runic seal with all the landmasses rotating within it.

These energies began to influence the local wild life infusing them with cosmic energy awaking their inate abilities and unlocking access to the soul.

These creatures became endowed with newfound consciousness became like acolytes and pillgirms who would venture up the spiral to receive the blessings of the star.

This place still unknown to humankind, known only by the animals and felt by inhabitants of the spirit realm was referred to as Ozhirim.

Sounds similiar to the Vastaya, with some Targon space magic sprinkled in IMHO

What would be the thematic focus of this new region?

Thematix focus was purposely not set but I left a large space for champion concepts. They can range from cosmic, gravitational, elemental, animalistic, shamanic, necromancy,runic, evocative and even terraformation. I created this concept area as a spring board for new ideas which can be implemented this zone even gave me an idea of a new map and game mode I see it as a fitting addition to runeterra it would aslo be able to address the existence of some champions design ex;

Zhaya and rakan bird people creatures given advanced consciousness and adaptted humanoid form

Why though? This makes it incredibly hard to place champions there. If I make a scientist with advanced weapons I know I can place him in Piltover or Zaun (depending on if he steers more towards controlled or mad science), but without a thematic focus you can't place champions there.

They can range from cosmic, gravitational, elemental, animalistic, shamanic, necromancy, runic, evocative and even terraformation.

  • Cosmic is covered by Targon already (Soraka, Aurelion, Zoe etc.)
  • gravitational is covered by Syndra (Viktor and Veigar have traces of it), it seems like it is supposed to be slightly below celestial magic
  • elemental is usually tied to the region which is associated with that element (Talijah, Annie, Janna, Nami for example)
  • animalistic is covered by the Ionian Vastaya, the Kumungu Jungle and the Great Barrier
  • shamanic sounds like Ivern and Ionia with the spiritual focus would more sense
  • necromancy is 100% Shadow Isles
  • runes are Ryze focus and his lore says Runes are spread worldwide
  • I assume you mean it as summoning? Malzahar, Azir and to an extent Annie do that
  • terraformation is Taliyahs thing

Most of these are spread quite widely and without a focus I would just place champions with those aspects into the regions mentioned above.

it would aslo be able to address the existence of some champions design

Which ones?

the concept of seals can be the focus

Doesn't seem like it has been done before, but I don't think you could make more than 1 (maybe 2) champion(s) out of that.

Their more of cosmic/energy biengs holding on to animal forms

So Targon for Animals after all?

Fair enough never read lore on vastaya but I never mentioned the creatures being humanoid the rakan zxhya was example listed before I looked into it

Or if that's notgood enough for you the concept of seals can be the focus

The runes are spread far and wide...this is definitely an area I could say is able to be focused on as far as rune magic goes, and celestial (cosmic) magic can definitely stem from this too. None of this has to be limited to Targon. Lets also keep in mind, the Vastaya and the Yordles aren't all limited to Ionia and Bandle City, respectively.

As for my champion concept...definitely an interesting thought. I'll continue to see if he's gonna fit a better, canon place, but if I can't really find a good tie, this is a great blank slate to work with, so to speak.

Ozhirim shall find its place.
