Kennen, The Heart of the Tempest [rework concept]
I recently got to thinking about
. For me and many others, the main issue is trying to get into the team fight without just rushing in and potentially dying. It also doesn't make sense how Kennen can cause all of this electricity, and none of it to at least balance itself out. So why doesn't the electricity Kennen creates jolt to nearby targets? In actuality, you could rub your feet on a carpet and shock someone. The electricity is balancing itself out by shocking someone! (As i frantically google everything about electricity...). Feedback about this would be most appreciated!
Keep in mind, numbers can be changed to make it more balanced.
Changes made:
Passive
- Reworked the passive to apply "Mark of the Storm" to nearby enemies when the passive is triggered. (Rework -> Buff)
- Reworked passive to apply "Mark of the Storm" on first basic attack against a target. (Rework -> Buff)
- Changed the passive to stack up to 4 times instead of 3. (Nerf)
- Added a small amount of damage. (Buff)
> Passive - Mark of the Storm: > Enemies hit by Kennen receive a "Mark of the Storm" for 6 seconds, stacking up to 4 times. > At 4 stacks, the marks consume themselves to crackle dealing (10 [+5/lvl], [+10% AP]) magic damage, stunning the afflicted enemy for 1.25 seconds, and apply "Mark of the Storm" to nearby enemies (250 unit range). > - Basic attacks apply a unique "Mark of the Storm" > Diminished Mark: If the stun is applied more than once within 4 seconds, the duration is reduced to 0.5 seconds.
Q
- Increased the cooldown by 1 second at all ranks. (Nerf)
- Decreased the range by 50 units (Nerf)
- Increased the energy cost by 10 at all ranks (Nerf)
- Increased the travel speed by 100 units (Buff)
- Added a passive that increases the "Mark of the Storm" passive stun by 0.25 seconds if the shuriken stuns (Buff)
> Q - Thundering Shuriken: ([9/8/7/6/5 second cooldown], [70/65/60/55/50 energy], [1000 unit range], [1750 speed] > Kennen throws a charged shuriken in a line in front of him, dealing (75/115/155/195/235[+75% AP]) magic damage to the first enemy it hits. > - If "Thundering Shuriken" stuns the enemy, they're stunned for 0.25 seconds longer.
W
- Reworked the passive to apply "Mark of the storm" to nearby enemies if they touch another enemy in 100 units of eachother. (Rework -> Buff)
- Changed energy cost to start at 60 Energy, and return back to the original 40 Energy (Nerf)
- Decreased the base damage by 5 at all ranks (Nerf)
- Increased the AP scaling by 5% (Buff)
> W - Electrical Surge: ([14/12/10/8/6 second cooldown], [60/55/50/45/40 Energy], [750 unit effect radius]) > Passive: Enemies afflicted by "Mark of the Storm" jolt another "Mark of the Storm" to nearby enemies (100 unit range) > Active: Kennen sends out surges of electricity to all nearby enemies afflicted by "Mark of the Storm" or caught in "Slicing Maelstrom", dealing (60/90/120/150/180[+60% AP]) magic damage.
E
This is the second biggest change for Kennen:
- Reworked W to target an enemy and bounce to all enemies afflicted by "Mark of the Storm" and caught in "Slicing Maelstorm" (think:
) (Rework) - Reworked the movement speed from +100% all ranks to (50//+25 per level//150)% total movement speed after cast (Rework -> Nerf early, buff late)
- Reworked energy gain from 40 on first enemy hit to 5 per enemy hit (Rework -> Nerf)
- Removed resistances gained (Nerf)
- Removed the double damage against enemy champions (Nerf)
- Increased cooldown from (10//-1 per level//6) to (15//-2 per level//7) (Nerf)
- Increased the base damage from (42.5//+20 per level//122.5) to (60//+40 per level//220) (Buff)
- Increased damage to minions by +50% (Buff)
- Decreased the energy requirement from (100//-5 per level//80) to (100//-10 per level//60) (Buff)
> E - Lightning Rush: ([15/13/11/9/7 second cooldown], [100/90/80/70/60 Energy], [500 unit target range], [500 unit effective radius]) > Active: Kennen transforms into a ball of electricity, becoming untargetable, and bouncing onto every enemy in the area afflicted by "Mark of the Storm" and caught in "Slicing Maelstrom", dealing (60/100/140/180/220[+40% AP]) magic damage. > - Kennen then becomes ghosted, gaining (50/75/100/125/150)% total movement speed for 2 seconds. > - Deals +50% damage against minions and restores 5 energy per enemy hit.
R
The biggest change for Kennen:
- Reworked hits per second from 0.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds (Rework -> Change)
- Reworked ult to only surge electricity around himself (Rework -> Nerf)
- Reworked damage per bolts from (40/+35 per level/110 [+20% AP]) to (10/+10 per level/30 [+10% AP]) (Rework -> Nerf)
- Reworked marks applied from max of 3 to max of 5 (Rework -> Buff)
- Reworked Q to be thunderous execution. (Rework -> Buff)
- Removed increased damage with each successive strike (Nerf)
- Increased cooldown from 120 all ranks to (240/-40 per level/160) (Nerf)
- Increased ult range by 50 units (Buff)
> R - Slicing Maelstrom: (240/200/160 second cooldown) (600 effect radius) > Active: Kennen summons a devastating shuriken storm around himself for 3 seconds, dealing (10/20/30 [+10% AP]) magic damage to all enemies within range every 0.25 seconds and applying "Mark of the Storm" to a max of 5. > After cast, Kennens Q becomes Thunderous execution, a devastating, crackling thunderbolt dealing ([50/100/150{+25% AP}] magic damage increasing in damage over the duration of the storm to [200/400/600{+100% AP}]) magic damage at 2.5 seconds and stunning the target for 1 second.
