Tessik, the Raving Thunderbolt v2.0
- Tessa "Tessik" Ikaen, the Raving Thunderbolt v2.0 -
Tessik is a close-range hybrid fighter with an emphasis on agility. Her ultimate, Aú Fluir, may just be the core skill of her kit. As such, she starts the game with a rank in it, much like Karma's Mantra. It's a short-ranged roll similar to Vayne's Tumble that empowers her other abilities for a brief window if she slips behind an enemy champion, promoting careful positioning before attacking.
Tessik's skillset is based around the Brazilian martial art called capoeira, which emphasizes acrobatic movements, kicks, and evasiveness. Due to the physical aspects of capoeira, her skills have Bonus AD ratios as well as AP ones, but they generally deal magic damage for the sake of balance.
Amaze both friends and foes alike with a display of stunning movements and deft combat tricks as Tessik takes to the stage that is the battlefield!
So, Summoner, can you keep up with the Raving Thunderbolt of Piltover?
Aesthetics
Tessik is a tall woman with a modest build. Respectably curved, especially around the hips. Though most who see her agree that her legs are her defining feature. Her hair extends down to a little past her shoulders, fanning slightly outwards as it goes down. It sports a neon/electric-blue coloration, but turns white as it descends, creating a gradient effect. Most likely dyed, but nobody knows for sure. Her eyes are a rather vibrant shade of green, and definitely one of her more noticeable features when people aren't admiring the rest of her. May or may not actually be green contact lenses.
-
Default Skin For her default skin, Tessik wears form-fitting dance attire, colored to match her hair. Her wrists and ankles each have a sort of glowing brace floating around them, slightly detached from her body via hexvoltage technology.
-
Enforcer Tessik For this skin, Tessik wears a battlesuit similar in general design to Vi's, but noticeably less bulky and with more emphasis on her legs than her fists. It has a more refined and sleek structure, befitting Tessik's greater emphasis on her personal appearance.
Stats and Abilities
-
Primary Role: Fighter Secondary Role: Assassin
-
Primary Stats: Ability Power, Attack Damage, Cooldown Reduction Secondary Stats: Movement Speed, Health, Armor, Magic Resist
-
Attack Power: 6 Defense Power: 4 Ability Power: 8 Difficulty: 9
-
Health: 439 (+85) [1969] Health Regen: 6.7 (+0.8) [21.1] Mana: 235 (+45) [1025] Mana Regen: 6.8 (+0.7) [19.4] Range: 125 Attack Damage: 52 (+3) [106] Attack Speed: 0.694 (+3%) [1.049] Armor: 21 (+3.5) [84] Magic Resist: 30 (+1.25) [52.5] Movement Speed: 360
Passive: Ginga
- Tessik's ability cooldowns are reduced by 0.5 seconds each time she receives damage from an enemy champion's attacks or abilities, excluding damage-over-time effects.
The ginga is the base footwork around which capoeira is performed, and is thus a core element of Tessik's gameplay. You may have seen ginga in-game before, actually, because it's what Malphite's dance is.
The purpose of the ginga is to prepare the user for subsequent movements, such as an aú (or cartwheel, essentially) or any number of various types of kicks. A passive enabling attacks to be dodged innately would be broken, of course, so I went for the next best thing.
Q: Armada Raio
-
Range: 225 Cost: 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 Mana Cooldown: 7 / 6.25 / 5.5 / 4.75 / 4
-
Active: Tessik performs a quick upright spinning kick at target enemy, dealing physical damage equal to 100% of her total Attack Damage plus bonus magic damage. The physical damage portion of Armada Raio will apply on-hit effects, and the magic damage portion will apply spell effects.
-
Armada Raio's damage is increased by 40% when chained off of Aú Fluir.
-
Bonus Magic Damage: 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 (+40% AP) Chain Total Damage: 28 / 56 / 84 / 112 / 140 (+56% AP) Magic Damage and 140% AD Physical Damage
*An armada, in the context of capoeira, is a spinning inside-to-outside crescent kick. "Raio" translates to lightning in Portuguese, as capoeira is a primarily Brazilian activity, so it's essentially a spinning lightning kick. *
This armada deals both physical and magical damage, and applies both on-hit and on-spell effects, in a manner similar to Fizz's Urchin Strike. With its low cooldown and high single-target DPS potential, it's Tessik's primary offensive skill for taking down her targets.
W: Meia Lua Trovão
-
Range: 325 Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 Mana Cooldown: 8 / 7.5 / 7 / 6.5 / 6
-
Active: Tessik performs a hand-standing spin kick that releases a shockwave around her, dealing magic damage to enemies within range.
-
If Tessik chains Meia Lua Trovão off of Aú Fluir, the torque of the kick will slow enemies by 60%, with the slow decaying over 1.5 seconds.
-
Magic Damage: 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 (+60% Bonus AD) (+45% AP)
Meia Lua translates to "half moon", and Trovão "thunder", so the skill's name is effectively "half moon thunder", in reference to both the spin's crescent motion and the shockwave that Tessik releases around her when performing it.
A Meia Lua is essentially a spinning kick done from a low to the ground handstand, pulling nearly or a full 360 spin.
By performing the spin from out of her Aú Fluir, Tessik is able to both catch enemies off guard and increase the torque, slowing their responsive movements momentarily. This is particularly useful with
and its kind, in order to get in a quick empowered AA afterwards. The main purpose of the skill is to give Tessik some form of waveclear, though, so it's only really a marginal use.
E: Folha Seca Céu
-
Range: 275 Cost: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 Mana Cooldown: 9 / 8.25 / 7.5 / 6.75 / 6
-
Active: Tessik performs a rising flip kick, dealing magic damage and knocking her target into the air for 1 second.
-
If Tessik chains Folha Seca Céu off of Aú Fluir, she'll perform a midair flip and spike her target downward with another kick, dealing additional magic damage based on their Missing Health and stunning them for 0.75 seconds.
-
Magic Damage: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+60% Bonus AD) (+50% AP) Chain Bonus Damage: 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10% of Target's Missing Health
Folha Seca translates to "dry leaf". It's something of a leaping flip kick, very flashy to watch.
Céu translates to "sky", as the kick knocks Tessik's target skyward. The chained version is useful for executing weakened enemies or for simply doing fancy combos with Armada Raio. The unchained version is still useful for its knockup. Tessik can run in, quickly kick her opponent up, then use Aú Fluir to either roll away or into position for an empowered Armada Raio.
R: Aú Fluir
-
Range: 325 Cooldown: 8 / 6 / 4 / 2
-
Active: Tessik performs an aú towards your cursor's location, ignoring unit collision for 1.25 seconds.
-
If Tessik passes through or within close proximity (roughly 150 range) of an enemy champion using Aú Fluir, her next ability cast within 1.25 seconds becomes empowered, gaining a bonus effect.
-
Tessik begins with one rank in Aú Fluir and can increase it at levels 6, 11, and 16.
An aú is similar to a cartwheel. Fluir is Portuguese for "flow", like the flow of an electric current, or the flow of Tessik's combat. Here are some examples of aú movements.
Tessik's aú can be chained into her other abilities to empower them, granting her the ability to engage her way or escape if the need arises. The possibilities are endless.
Lore
- "Life's just one big party, and everyone's invited!" - Tessik
In the city of Piltover, the hub of hextech and center of innovation in Valoran, brilliance can be found in many places, some more unlikely than others. But perhaps no place is more unlikely than in the mind of Tessa Ikaen. Or as she calls herself on the dance scene, Tessik the Raving Thunderbolt.
By day, Tessa is a savant in the field of hexvoltage. This recently-forayed field of hextech utilizes magnetic and kinetic energies as power sources to fuel human motion, by converting said energies into forms the human body could utilize. In layman's terms, a basic hexvoltage accessory can allow a human to move about at less expenditure to their own personal stamina by drawing energy from outside sources.
By night, however, she parties on as the Raving Thunderbolt of Piltover. Equipped with her own custom-designed hexvolt braces, Tessik's movements on the dance floor are unmatched.
Between her skill as a dancer and her notoriety as a hexvoltage developer, Tessik had come to enjoy being in the eyes of the people. Her energetic and amiable personality and sheer beauty made her extremely popular with nearly everybody who knew or knew of her. But more than that, Tessik enjoyed the fact that the things she did made people happy. Her hexvoltage tech could make their lives easier one day, and her dancing could put their hearts at ease.
Occasionally, however, Tessik would hear people discussing the League of Legends. She'd heard of the League before, but hadn't given it much thought, until she saw a crowd of people one day singing praise to Jayce for a battle well fought on the Fields of Justice. Intrigued, Tessik made it a point to ask Jayce more about the League.
After hearing from him about how all the eyes of Valoran had their eyes on the League of Legends, as well as more recounts from her friend Vi, Tessik made her decision. She would represent Piltover alongside her allies on the Fields of Justice. For the chance to promote her hexvoltage innovations, for the glory of being in the spotlight, and for the chance to make her fellow citizenry of Piltover proud.
Look out, League, the Raving Thunderbolt is on the scene!
