(Champion Concept) Rashar, the Swarm King

LORE Long live Rashar! A phrase spoken all throughout the Kumungu Jungle by all Zulotaz within his swarm. The Zulotaz are an evolved species of insects that commonly feast upon moist flora and any fauna found within the jungle. It was only natural for them to migrate to Kumungu with it's large array of species and plant life. However, no one expected their numbers to grow as quickly as they did. One hundred turned to one hundred thousand in a week. One hundred thousand turned to one hundred million in another. One hundred million became one hundred billion within the next. Their varying size, ranging from a mere coin to the size of a fully grown tree, has made them one of the most dominant races on the planet. However, due to their habits and specific needs, they have become bound to the Kumungu Jungle. While most are nothing but endlessly hungry monsters, they are smart about it and know of the threat of eradicating a food source off the face of the planet. Due to this intelligence, the Underground Kumungu was birthed, populated solely by the Zulotaz and any species of animal brave enough to try and live within. Within are the farms the Zulotaz have made of nearly every single plant species. By harvesting strange crystals found beneath the Kumungu, all sunlight needed to survive is shined within the Underground Kumungu. All this advancement is thanks to their king, Rashar. Rashar is not bulky, quick, or even big. What he is is incredibly devious and intelligent. His hunger never sleeps and his need to eat surpasses all of the Zulotaz. So, he got smart and became the leader of his otherwise scattered people. All one hundred billion of them. None of the Zulotaz dare question or kill him in fear of his absence causing them all to be unable to evolve with the other species. They are smart enough to realize this fact. Rashar is the one who lead the creation of the Underground Kumungu and then sought out to bringing his people complete domination of the Kumungu Jungle. He knew venturing beyond his borders would not suit his people, so he found ways to survive and thrive within the Kumungu Jungle. He was the one who first found the strange sunlight crystals and came up with the idea of underground farms. Without him, the Zulotaz would have eaten itself to extinction long ago. Yes, he alone can lead the Zulotaz and none question that. Once his people reached the milestone population count of one trillion, they were visited by a mysterious creature who called itself Ivern. Expecting anger, they were instead met with congratulations. They were the first species that Ivern had ever seen that used the environment so efficiently and did not kill for sport. Everything went to good use and nature had remained in balance despite their numbers becoming so insanely vast. With that, the mysterious tree person vanished and left Rashar wondering many thoughts. Were his people the apex of this world? Were they the true masters of the planet? What would happen when the other significant races finally saw them as a threat? Rashar began preparations. Over generations, he forced his people to adapt to environments just outside of the Kumungu Jungle. Their population growth rate vastly decreased, but this was for the future of his people. He would sacrifice a trillion more if it meant the survival of his kind. Eventually, they WERE able to survive outside. Underground sections of the surrounding nations were established. They weren't near as big as the Underground Kumungu, but they would do. As the Zulotaz began to threaten the borders of many nations, the leaders of the world began to question just what the Zulotaz wanted. This became clear soon afterwards when Rashar himself met with a leader of a barbarian clan from the Freljord. At that moment the world knew that a new competitor for the world has risen and they didn't want business. They wanted the exact opposite: a global massacre of all other races that could threaten them.

The Bite http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2ca303356bef388dc3f0fa66e628c230.jpg I see man. He sees me. Interesting man. They call it human. I call it meat-legs. Yes, good meat-legs.

"What do your people want here, insect?"

Man speak. Yes. They call this meat-legs barbarian. He not so. He is meat-leg.

"Why do you not answer?"

Yes, precious meat-leg. It responds. It does not know. I release call in response. It is time.

"Stay back insect! Back! Ba..."

CRUNCH! Yes, his head nice. The juices flow down my throat. My mouth red. My eyes red. My hands red. Delicious. It is time. They all die. All here. Die. https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a0467725625_16.jpg

KIT Rashar, the Swarm King Main Role: Skirmisher Secondary Role: Battle Mage Health- 585 (+85 per level) Health Regen.- 6 (+0.8 per level) Mana- 300 (+50 per level) Mana Regen.- 5 (+0.35 per level) Armor- 23 (+3.5 per level) Magic Resist- 32.1 (+1.25 per level) Movement Speed- 350 Attack Damage- 60 (+3.8 per level) Attack Speed- 0.68 (+3.8% per level) Attack Range- 150 (Melee)

Passive- Call of the Colonies Innate: Every time Rashar kills an enemy unit in any way, this will spawn a Cadaver Roach that will seek out live enemy/neutral units within a 1750/2000/2250/2500 radius around where it spawned and attack them, going from the nearest to furthest. Cadaver Roaches will never try to attack enemy structures, but will try to attack enemies near enemy structures. These Cadaver Roaches last for 45/60/75/90 seconds, their remaining duration being extended by 15/20/25/30 seconds every time an enemy/neutral unit dies within it's search and attack radius. Cadaver Roaches do not need vision to run to and attack enemies. Likewise, they do not provide vision around themselves, only providing vision of their target for 0.1 seconds every time they manage to damage them. Their attacks deal 1/2/3/4% (+1% per 70 bonus AD) (max of 60/70/80/90 (+4% AD) vs. large monsters/minions) of their target's max health as bonus physical damage and heal them for 50% of this bonus damage dealt if their target is a minion or monster. Cadaver Roach Stats Health- 80/100/120/140 (+17.5% AP) Health Regen.- 10/15/20/25 Armor- 10/15/20/25 Magic Resist- 10/20/30/40 Movement Speed- 375/400/425/450 Attack Damage- 10/15/20/25 (+15% bonus AD) Attack Speed- 1.0/1.15/1.3/1.45 Attack Range- 125 (Melee) Cadaver Roaches cannot be killed by non-champion, non-epic monster damage while Rashar is within 550 units of them. Structures will ALWAYS kill them in one shot however. Cadaver Roaches ignore unit collision. Killing a Cadaver Roach will reward 2 gold. Levels: 1/6/11/16

Ability 1- Reap the Benefits Passive: Basic attacks deal 2/3/4/5/6% (+1% per 70 bonus AD) of Rashar's target's current health as bonus physical damage (max of 75 vs. minions and monsters). Upon killing an enemy champion, Rashar and nearby Zulotaz units will have 5/6/7/8/9% (+1% per 70 bonus AD) of their missing health restored. Active: Rashar's next basic attack within 6.25 seconds will deal 45/60/75/90/105 (+50% bonus AD) bonus physical damage and ignore 20/30/40/50/60% of the target's armor. If the target dies from this attack, the mana cost of this ability is refunded and Rashar regains an extra 10/14/18/22/26 mana over 2 seconds (doubled for enemy champions). The cool down of this ability is also reduced by 33% if the target dies. If the target does not die, a Cadaver Roach will spawn behind them. Cost: 45/50/55/60/65 mana Cool Down: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds

Ability 2- Colony Tunnel Active: After channeling for 2.5 seconds, being interrupted by damage, Zulotaz creates a Colony Tunnel at the target location. Every 50/45/40/35/30 seconds, a Cadaver Roach will spawn from the Colony Tunnel and attack nearby enemies. Enemy champions can attack a Colony Tunnel twice to cause a cave in, destroying it and rewarding them with 20 gold. Colony Tunnels last until destroyed, but a maximum of 3/4/5/6/7 can be created at once. Colony Tunnels provide vision in a 150 radius around them. Enemy champions that are within 1750/2000/2250/2500 (at levels 1/6/11/16) of a Colony Tunnel will be applied a useless debuff that warns them that they feel movement beneath their feet and that a Colony Tunnel is nearby. Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana Cool Down: 20 seconds Range: 250

Ability 3- Sunlight Crystals Passive: Rashar gains 10/20/30/40/50% increased attack speed for 2.5 seconds when attacking an enemy champion or large monster. Active: Rashar throws a Sunlight Crystal to the target location that deals 55/90/125/160/195 (+105% bonus AD) physical damage to the first enemy unit hit and stuns them for 0.75 seconds. If the Sunlight Crystal reaches it's location, it will plant down and reveal the surrounding 500 unit area for the next 10 seconds. Enemies that enter said area are revealed for 2 seconds. Cost: 75/80/85/90/95 mana Cool Down: 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 seconds Range: 725 Projectile Speed: 1450

Ultimate- Feed the Many Passive: Cadaver Roaches will drag enemy minions and neutral monsters that die within 300 units of them to the nearest Colony Tunnel within 2000/2250/2500 units at 75% movement speed. They will only drag units if another enemy/neutral unit is not within 550 units of it, and they will lose the current unit they are dragging if they are damaged by an enemy champion while dragging. Upon reaching the Colony Tunnel, after a 5 second delay, a Gore Hunter with stats equal to 50/65/80% of the unit they dragged's stats will spawn from the Colony Tunnel. It's only differing stats are it's attack speed, being 100/105/110% of it's target attack speed, it's movement speed, being 400/425/450 flat movement speed, and it's attack range, being 150 units and melee. These Gore Hunters will act identically to Cadaver Roaches except that their search radius is 3000/3500/4000 units. They will even drag units to spawn more Gore Hunters. Gore Hunters deal 3/4/5% bonus max health physical damage to enemy champions with their basic attacks. Gore Hunters do not provide any vision, but reveal enemies they basic attack for 0.1 seconds. Gore Hunters reward their killer with 5 gold. Gore Hunters last for 120/150/180 seconds and their remaining duration will be increased by 40/50/60 seconds whenever they kill an enemy/neutral unit. Epic monsters and super minions cannot be used to create Gore Hunters.

STRATEGY Rashar is a true Swarm King. He brings his people with him to the battlefield by swarming the battlefield with his kind. Cadaver Roaches litter the jungle and Gore Hunters slowly creep into existence as the game approaches mid-game. Rashar himself, meanwhile, is busy continuously killing enemies in order to bring out more and more of his people and restoring his mana. His mana does not regenerate very quickly, so he is required to continuously kill in order to sustain himself. Early Game During the early game, Rashar is likely to be found in the Jungle. By executing enemies with Reap the Benefits, he can continuously spawn Cadaver Roaches in order to help him clear his side of the Jungle. Colony Tunnel will also allow him to spawn extra Cadaver Roaches after a decent delay to help him with his next clear of the Jungle as well as protect his side of the Jungle from intruders at times. Unreliable, but it can happen. Once Rashar has completely cleared his side of the jungle, he can use Sunlight Crystals to invade the enemy Jungle and see where the enemy Jungler is before committing to a Jungle camp. Even if he does not use it during his approach, he can use it after starting a camp to act as a temporary ward to warn him if the enemy Jungler is about to show up. Rashar is severely encouraged to invade the enemy Jungle since he benefits so much from even stepping foot in the enemy Jungle. One, he can place down a Colony Tunnel in a decent spot to force the enemy to waste time finding or be annoyed by a barrage of Cadaver Roaches constantly coming for them. Even just one attack from one of these annoying Cadaver Roaches will reveal their location to the enemy team, putting them at a disadvantage for ganks. Middle Game Around this point in the game is when Gore Hunters begin to become a much bigger threat. Cadaver Roaches have likely taken over Rashar's jungle by now and will provide him with a constant supply of Gore Hunters to attack enemies. Colony Tunnels are all around his jungle, making the jungle (at least his side of the jungle) HIS domain. However, something new is starting around the mid-game and that is team fights. Rashar, unfortunately, isn't very strong by himself. As stated in his lore, he is intelligent and devious, but he is not strong or agile. While he can perform decently in a duel, he quickly lessens in usefulness when against more than one enemy champion. That is, unless his kind is there to back him up. Due to this, it is essential that Rashar begin to try and dominate as much of the map as possible so that he never comes across a situation to where his usefulness is so low. Staying with his team when venturing into unconquered territory is essential. Late Game Around this point in the game, Rashar is either in one of two situations; either he has a lot of the map under his control or the enemy has managed to push him back and force him to stay out of their side of the map. If it is the former, Rashar's late game is just a more powerful version of his mid-game. Continue to devour your opponents and sustain your swarm. However, if it is the latter, Rashar has to think very mindfully about his actions. He has to think when and where to strike and try to claim territory. This isn't a game of quality for Rashar, but a game of quantity. He needs MORE Roaches and Hunters to aid him, and he should do whatever it takes to do this without risking defeat. Since Roaches and Hunters cannot attack structures, however, Rashar will likely not be the one closing out the game due to his not top tier tower killing speed. Instead, he should try and build his army so that whichever ally CAN kill enemy structures quickly can close out the game. Once the enemy has been killed, it is only a matter of time before Rashar's team closes out the game as Rashar quickly dominates territory in his enemy's absence.

Works Well With Illaoi Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess No one can help Rashar take over a part of the map better than Illaoi. With their combined might when within territory they own, venturing into their domain becomes a truly scary adventure indeed as swarms of insects and tentacles wipe out all who would dare cross this deadly duo. Jhin Jhin, the Virtuoso Jhin can easily snipe his enemies into a retreat so that Rashar can come in and lay claim to their lost land. Not only that, but Jhin can lay his own traps in Rashar's domain to assist the insects within in killing their targets. Plus, Jhin is someone who can close out a game, unlike Rashar. Yorick Yorick, the Shepherd of Souls Yorick dominates the lanes while Rashar dominates the jungle. Nowhere is safe from both of their hordes and the enemy team will realize that as the game goes on.

Performs Poorly Against Shyvana Shyvana, the Half-Dragon There really isn't any point in Rashar invading the enemy jungle if there is nothing left to kill. Shyvana can clear her side of the jungle MUCH faster than Rashar, making the task of dominating the opposing side of the map infinitely harder for Rashar. Teemo Teemo, the Swift Scout The hardest territory to dominate is territory already dominated by someone else and no one makes this clearer than Teemo. Invading the enemy jungle only for a minefield of mushrooms to slowly kill you makes Rashar's job much harder. Fiddlesticks Fiddlesticks, the Harbinger of the End Not the crows! It seems the early bird really does get the worm, or in this case, the Zulotaz. Fiddlesticks ability to easily kill off non-champion units makes him ideal for clearing out nests of Cadaver Roaches and even Gore Hunters. Fear the scarecrow in champion select.

Thank you for reading and any feedback is appreciated! I like characters that command a swarm of minions, so I tried my hand at a minionmancer made to dominate the Jungle instead of a lane. Making them come from Kumungu is also great since it makes the Kumungu Jungle finally play a larger role in the lore besides just some humid jungle out in the middle of nowhere.

CHANGE LOG

Base Stats

  • Base Mana reduced to 300 from 375
  • Base Mana per Level reduced to 50 from 75

Passive- Call of the Colonies

  • Roach Base Bonus % Health Physical Damage to Minions and Monsters reduced to 1/2/3/4% Max Health from 1/4/7/10% Max Health

The extremely high scaling base numbers of the bonus max health damage on Roaches towards minions and monsters was a part of an early development version of this kit where Roaches could die to non-champion damage when near Rashar. While I agree, the mechanic should still exist in the kit, it should not be as extreme as it was. Plus, it was never meant to be that way in this current kit anyways. Rashar's extreme mana pool was also in another version of his kit where he did not harvest mana from those he killed. Therefore, his mana pool is being reduced since it was never meant to be that high in this kit. For those curious, Rashar needs to go out and harvest mana to try and make him have a more active play style.

Ability 1- Reap the Benefits

  • Mana Cost increased to 45/50/55/60/65 from 40/45/50/55/60

Ability 2- Colony Tunnel

  • Mana Cost increased to 70/75/80/85/90 from 60/65/70/75/80

Ability 3- Sunlight Crystals

  • Mana Cost increased to 75/80/85/90/95 from 65/70/75/80/85

Mana cost nerfs across the board to further highlight Rashar's mana hunger being his weakness. Starving him of units to kill will and should definitely hurt his usefulness.

Once again, great job! Really fits his theme.

Interesting, as he seems to play like an adc, but his tunnels seem very good for split pushing, a strong suit of tanks and bruisers.

Great idea but too many passives on abilities.
