Fiddlesticks Rework Concept (Abilities, No Scalings)

Just a short post, giving a potential idea for a Fiddlesticks rework. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cMpfkojD9CM/UtQLIRQ-jlI/AAAAAAAAAw0/7w1ocQ2Cfhc/s1600/Fiddlesticks_textured.jpg First off, this model is a good start for a Fiddlesticks that's way better visually.

#PASSIVE: Crowstalker When Fiddlesticks slays enemy units, he has a chance of summoning a crow from their corpse. 100% chance from Champions, Large Monsters, and Epic Monsters; 50% from Small Monsters and Minions; 0% chance from Champion Pets (Zyra, Yorick, Malzahar, etc.) Crows will follow Fiddlesticks and each have their own health bar. Their health scales of Fiddlesticks' level. Fiddlesticks can have 5 crows with him at a time, and they will shoot at targets that Fiddlesticks attack. Their damage is based of Fiddlesticks' level and AP. This passive is meant to give Fiddlesticks some extra damage outside of his spells and basic attacks. It gives the whole feel of Fiddles being able to control crows.

#Q ABILITY: EFFIGY This is a point-and-click ability which summons an effigy at a location after a delay. An effigy will fear champions on arrival or when they walk too close to it, and an effigy is only able to fear once per champion. They have 3 ward health and are instantly killed by towers. Effigys are also able to collect crows, at reduced chances. 50% from Champions, Large Monsters, and Epic Monsters; 25% from Small Monsters and Minions. An effigy can hold 3 crows at a time, and Fiddlesticks can walk up to an effigy to collect crows if he has space for them. Crows on effigys can not attack enemies. A scarecrow summoning more scarecrows; putting Fiddlesticks fear and a new way to control the map gives him the archetype I see for him: a control-type summoner.

#W ABILITY: DRAIN Fiddlesticks tethers himself to a Champion, Large Monster, or Epic Monster. While tethered Fiddlesticks deals magic damage over time and heals himself for a portion of it. Moving cancels the tether. Drain is a pretty iconic ability on Fiddlesticks, and the only changes I can see to it are an increased cooldown and reduced damage, balancing it out to make room for his additional Crow damage.

#E ABILITY: DARK WIND Fiddlesticks sends out a dark wind as a piercing, straight skillshot. The dark wind deals magic damage and will mark Champions, Large Monsters, and Epic Monsters when it hits them. Crows will immediately target the first marked target, and gained increased attack speed while hitting it. Fiddlesticks can attack other marked targets to change the crows' target while keeping the attack speed buff. Fiddlesticks may not get his free point-and-click Brand ult with a silence anymore, but instead gains a new way to make his crows devastate an opponent. This ability enforces the idea of a crow-controlling champion.

#ULTIMATE: CROWSTORM Fiddlesticks targets an effigy within a large area around him. (NOT GLOBAL) After a channel, Fiddlesticks teleports at the effigy's location and summons a crowstorm, while silencing any targets very close to the effigy. The crowstorm deals magic damage over time as usual, and Fiddlesticks has slightly increased movement speed while it's active. If the effigy is destroyed while Fiddlesticks is channeling, he can still teleport to the location but will not silence any targets. The effigy glows while Fiddlesticks teleports to it. Now that Crowstorm can't be used anywhere and enemy champions can get an idea of where Fiddlesticks is going, a bit more power can be put into the ability, which is why it now has a silence and movement speed buff.

#WHY REWORK FIDDLESTICKS: Fiddlesticks is an awfully outdated and weak champion. Just so many champions can do his job a bit better. Need CC and AP; Nautilus. Need level 6 ganks and AP; Diana. Also, Fiddlesticks looks pretty awful in game, especially when compared to his "A Twist of Fate" model. The idea behind the rework is to make Fiddlesticks an AP control and summoning champion. A lot of his power is transitioned into his crows and damage over time, and he's pretty weak when not devastating enemies with CC and DoTs.

PROS

  • Powerful control and ganking
  • Crowd control and DoT burst

CONS

  • Slow without his ultimate
  • Reliance on his crows and effigys for his best benefits
  • Drain leaves him immobile and vulnerable to CC and burst

ITEMS: Essential: item 1402 item 3157 item 3158 Offensive: item 3089 item 3151 item 3135 Defensive: item 3152 item 3065 item 3001 Optional: item 3116 item 3027 item 3030

#LAST COMMENTS Fiddlesticks can be pretty fun in his current state, but there's not much reason outside of that to pick the Harbinger of Doom. My honest opinion is that there just isn't much reason to pick him; other champions can do Fiddlesticks' job. Hopefully a rework will bring old Fiddles back to his glory days (if he had any) and make him a champion that can provide a lot for his team outside of two forms of hard CC and DoT.

-The passive is interesting but it seems like the crows would have to have a short leash range.

-The Q if a bit shaky imo. I don't think the fear should persist on the effigy, only fear on arrival. The concept of it collecting crows is cool too, but storing crows over time instead of from dying enemies/monsters would make it more reliable. It being so easy to kill would make setting it up in a lane/jungle a complete waste as it wouldn't collect crows in time before dying, or not be close enough to much death. Too underpowered. Also, fiddle should have a brief channel to collect the crows from an effigy because it being instant would be annoying to play against.

-Drain is drain. You're right about nerfing it a bit, with the rest of the kit.

-The E should be a cone, not linear. If you take away dark wind's bounce, he loses the aoe part of his clear and overall damage without his ult. Not instant like a morde cone, but quick traveling like a kassadin cone.

-The ult sucks. Being blunt. It would basically just be used like a rek'sai ult, because nobody is going to fall for that, esp at high elo. How about instead of completely changing the ult, you reduce the damage a bit , reduce the cooldown(currently it's way too long), and move his current passive to the ult (but now only works for channeling instead of any pause and has higher movespeed). I would consider making the damage part uninterruptible, but leaving the blink part interruptible.

I really really like this, but I feel like his passive+e is very similar to yorick's ghouls.

I like most of this although I think there could be a much cooler interaction with his E than you idea. I think if you give him a Janna type pet, as in purely visual, crow you could have a reworked E keep some feel of bouncy fun. Allow me to explain what I'm thinking. His E would be throwing his Janna type pet as a skill shot that doesn't pass through enemies. When his pet hits said enemy Fiddlesticks's crows divebomb that enemy dealing extra damage and each crow would then bounce to a second target, granted there is a second target in range. His crows don't return to Fiddle automatically instead they stay where they hit and fiddle has to walk near them to pick them up.

I think something like this would be better because it would still feel coheisive to the kit but also have a feel like his current kit.

I'd say fiddle is in a pretty good spot right now.

He doesn't have strengths that you can't play around and the only frustrating thing to fight would be his E since it's really easy and hard at the same time to poke someone with it.

Fiddle has to build a lot of AP to get damage off of his two main damage moves Drain and Dark Wind

Even if at level 1 fiddle can do 300 damage with his W... the enemy has to stand there and take it...

Fiddle's tools can be played around pretty predominantly since if he ganks you in lane with his current crowstorm ult you KNOW he is going to aim for getting his Fear(Q) off so you'll be an easier target. So if you have a move to counter the CCGangplank Rengar Irelia or an Item item 3140 item 3139

you can deal with his CC and procede to poke him down.

Plus Fiddle powerspikes( from my experience anyways) after laning phase where he can catch people REALLY off guard
