You can tell the 7.7 changes are an April Fool's joke because
Riot acknowledges Kassadin's existence.

I hope the Kassadin buffs are real, everything else on the PBE right now is just fucking ridiculous
urgot wasnt buffed so no they arent joking if urgot was buffed and yorick got a skin THEN 7.7 would be a joke

Where do you see these changes?
It's on surrender @ 20. The changes include:
The Lux, Katarina, and even Bard buffs look too powerful, which makes people think this is most likely the April Fools joke.
idk if you've been playing bard recently but I feel the buff is a step in the right direction. Maybe instead of a meep horde they could just have it improve the healing on his chimes or something though... He did need the love tap to his damage. Lux and kat cdr stuff is spooky but they're no more scary if your team is organized. It will make them more noobstompy if you have a terrible mid or a 5-carry team though. (And I HATE kat and strongly dislike Lux) The Kat changes will probably be tuned down after some PBE testing, but I think that they pulled some of her earlygame power away with the ulti cooldown will be better for dealing with her insane snowball by tying more power to levels than just items.
Bard buffs are in the right direction, but they are horrendessly overpowered if the game goes on long enough and the bard is competent. However that is very conditional as the game needs to go on for long, and let's be real this is season 7.
Playing Teemo's Advocate here, but maybe that's good. We have late game scalers in basically every role, why not have a support that becomes such a threat the longer the game goes on?
I agree, a late game scaling support is great, and I'd love to see bard become that, but those buffs are too strong. 9 meeps, consistent late game dmg, stronger early game dmg, stronger slow, faster recharge rate, and a faster/more powerful slow is pretty rediculous. Meep damage high already, if I'm doing fairly well I can 1v1 enemy adc with 81 ap. With that being said, id love for these changes to go live, as long as it doesn't effect his pick/ban rate that much.
It'll make my bard mid much better
I do agree that the 9 meeps with the nicer scaling will be somewhat crazy but that is definitely not going to be an issue until lategame, and at that point he still won't make much of a dent in a tank and will still be quickly killed by an adc but now he can actually hurt them back for more than two decent autos then 4-5 tickle ones (Unless you're ap bard and they walk by a brush and you instantly kill their adc kek). Bard is extremely effective in the right hands now as-is, but this change will at least solve his issue of having a really hard time making a dent if his team doesn't know how to play with him.
I feel it wouldn't impact his pick/ban too heavily since he would still have a hella skill floor for people to bust through, but if the damage proves too overwhelming they could just space out the damage increases but make them a bit bigger.
I noticed that the distribution of +1 meeps is really centered around the 50+ chime mark so unless his adc is extremely competent or the game is very stompy but somehow not ended quickly then he will still be in similar territory as he is now in terms of meep numbers, maybe with 2 more. His damage across the board will be increased though which will help me murder those pesky mage supports.
ALSO BARD SUMMONER ICON ON PBE. FINALLY. it looks kinda mediocre and I would've rather just had one of his mask but I'll take this. Now I just need to wait for them to release another non-joke skin for him :D
Well said my man, and yea, pumped for the icon
????
Name is relevant.
Don't see what you are talking bout haha, just stating my opinion
I like your opinion though. :)
I just thought your name was funny.
Oh sorry, misread your post, thought it said 'name is irrelevant'

But also so is Nasus with his Q. You have to be all over the place all the time to collect chimes. I'm a terrible Bard at least I know that much. Adding another Nasus-like dynamic to the game won't break Bard. It just makes him relevant late game.
Kat is being nerfed. She is a snowball champion and is having her early game nerfed, with a late game buff. Usally a game is desided for Kat before level 16 when she gets her buff.
And even if it isnt, that probably means the kat has either been hard countered or is just straight up bad.

Gets rid of lvl 2 cheese(much, much, more unreliable) Now has no way to interact with the enemy early But doesn't scale well late ???????
I think he was more meant to be a mid game roaming assassin, which he already does without the huge Q damage early. I'm not completely sure about this and I hope it doesn't kill him off too hard.
No...
I don't even.
Put him in the LCS once and people start whining about it.

I don't even watch lcs, you literally press w and q and bleed and ignite at level 2 to wreck them

You... didn't read what I wrote at all, did you.
at least they're giving j4 SOMETHING
Its not like theyve neglected j4. They havent touched diana in well over a year
That'd be kind of a cruel, sick joke though. Bard buffs? Kassadin and Lissandra buffs? Alistar buffs? These all make me very happy. To take them away would be worse than just never adding them to begin with.

It's on surrender @ 20. The changes include:
- Alistar buffs, passive heals all ally champs and trample has a lower cooldown and more damage on the empowered auto
- Bard buff, chime bonuses up to 100 don't give just raw damage but additional stats, along with damage per bonus
- Lux buff, which gives her 30/40/50% cooldown reduction on her ult if it kills a target
- Kat change (buff?) which increases her ult cooldown early game but it gets to 15 seconds late game
- Jinx buff, lets her W critically strike
- Jarvan buff, which gives his shield higher base stats and a health scaling
- Kassadin buffs, lowering his E cooldown and giving him a higher AP ratio on ult
- Lissandra buffs, increasing the AP ratio on Q and letting her regain missing mana if she ults herself
- Talon nerf, lowering his Q damage at early levels
- And Volibear buffs, making his ult have more lightning chains and improved logic with those chains
The Lux, Katarina, and even Bard buffs look too powerful, which makes people think this is most likely the April Fools joke.
I'm 90% sure the Lissandra one might be legit. They had discussed giving her some love in 7.6, but passed over it for the time being due to wanting to experiment.
I hope they are, the missing mana on ult self cast is a shot in the dark imo, but the extra damage is definitely welcome.
The Lux, Katarina, and even Bard buffs look too powerful
They look powerful, but Alistar's global heal doesn't?
It'd be like a mini Soraka ult every 20 seconds.
Its not a global heal; he only heals nearby allies. The heal is also really small
That makes more sense -- I didn't realize it was a local heal. The heal isn't that small (40 - 278 depending on level), and it procs whenever a nearby enemy dies. It would be super OP in teamfights. Every time an enemy died, everyone on Alistar's team would gain 100 - 200 health.
The Lux,Kat and Bard buffs look absurd on first glance, but when you start looking closer, they aren't even the worst offenders.
Jinx W can now crit: I passed over this until someone suggested I actually take a closer look. With IE, you are looking at Jinx W critting for ~1500 (pre-armor reduction) with 2-3 items. Literally talking 1-shot damage here.
The Kass change is massive. Its already been reduced on PBE since it first cane out, but even the 1s reduction on E and +.1AP ratio on ult are surprisingly huge buffs. Its a 17% CD reduction for the E, and a.1 AP ration increase on an ability that will have a 1.2S CD. I'm pretty sure that people are going to quickly realize the tanky Kassadin (Gauntlet+Seraphs core) is broken.
Imagine Kat in urf, having a 3 second cd on ult. Just imagine it.
Honestly, J4's shield SHOULD have a health scaling, it and Evelynn's ult are the only shields in the game that have no scaling whatsoever. They should give him SOME incentive to build tanky when the situation calls for it instead of his best build being to build like an assassin.
wait I'm a Kass main. How rude
Just had a thought: What if this is Black Market Brawlers? Like, let's pretend that Riot has wanted to buff Kassadin for a while, but they're too afraid of the community backlash. Wouldn't April Fool's day be the perfect time to push these insane changes? See how the community reacts in an environment where people don't get too angry because they think it might be a joke?
Agree, but how is that BMB?
I think that he means how BMB was where dead mans plate(and maybe another item) were kindof tested in the game before they were moved it to the "real" game.
ah, possibly
Yeah, they put a ton of totally OP items into BMB (in part to contribute to the "black market" theme), and then I guess they found out that Dead Man's Plate wasn't actually broken, so they put it into the base game. At least, that's how I think about it.
Lost chapter was originally from that too. Still want that staff of flowing water though.
A proper attempt at an April Fools joke would either feature Cass, Yorick or Swain receiving a new skin.
They are too punk ass to dare and tease something like that and go nope. No
Yes, this together with the Jarvan shield scaling and a buff to near-useless lategame ADC skills is probably more than half the things I've ever really wanted from League since S1.
