(Champion Concept) Ulric, the Scarred Reaver
#Stats Health: 583.4 - 2222.6 (+96.4) Health regen: 8.37 - 21.97 (+0.8) Fury: 100 Attack Damage: 58 - 117.5 (+3.5) Attack Speed: .625 - .958 Armor: 27.3 - 53.4 (+3.5) Magic Resist: 32.1 - 53.4 (+1.25) Melee: 175 Movement Speed: 345
#Abilities Passive: Cleaving Strikes
- Ulric's basic attacks can strike enemies in a small arc in front of hit. Primary targets he's attack take full damage while secondary targets in arc take 80% of damage. You generate 4 fury per hit +1 for every enemy hit in the arc and +1 for each unit you kill. You lose 6 fury a second when out of combat for 7 seconds. At 40 fury, your auto attacks begin to resonate waves behind your target. Each wave deals 40-60% (depending on level) of your damage, minions taking half of this damage instead, and for each point of fury beyond 40 will increase the range of these waves to a max range of 500 at full fury.
Q: Shattered Earth
- Ulric slams his weapon to the ground, sending a shockwave in target direction, dealing 60/85/110/135/160 (+70% AD) to all enemies in it's path. This ability may be cast while you are in mid leap. If you do cast it, you will then release a 300 AoE shockwave emanating from you, rather then sending one in a target direction, at your landing area.
Range: 625 Cooldown: 14/13.5/13/12.5/12
W: Leap
- Ulric leaps to target location, dealing 50/90/130/170/210 (+40% AP) to all nearby enemies and slow them for 25/30/35/40/45% for 2 seconds. If he lands on top of any enemies, he will stun them for 1 second and deal an additional 10% damage to them. Range of Leap increases with each point of fury you currently have.
Cooldown: 22/21/20/19/18 Range: 500 (900 at full fury)
E: Rending Sweep Passive - Rending Sweep has a charge system, similar to Rumble's E. You gain a max of 2 charges at the first rank, increased to 5 at max rank, and you gain a charge every 12 seconds. Upon hitting an enemy champion with this ability, your current time to gain a charge will be reduced by 3 seconds for each champion hit. This can only happen a certain number of times in a certain window of time before there is a separate cooldown, disabling you to reduce the charge time by hitting enemy champions for 4 seconds.
Active - Ulric strikes out at all enemies around him, dealing 35/60/85/110/145 (+35% AD) damage and adding a stack of rend to all enemies hit for 3 seconds. Each stack of rend beyond the first will give additional effects depending on how many stacks a target has on them. (Hitting an enemy with max stacks will refresh the timer of slow and damage)
2 Stacks: 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% slow 3 Stacks: 25/27.5/30/32.5/35% slow 4 Stacks (Max Stacks): 40/45/50/55/60% slow, dealing additional hits with E at max stacks will cause the target to bleed 5/10/15/20/25 (+20% AD) true damage over the stacks duration
Range: 175 Cooldown between casts: .75
R: Ruthless Onslaught -Ulric charges in a target direction, consuming all of his current fury in the process. As he charges, he will strike at enemies that are in or near his charge path twice, dealing normal AA damage each strike plus an additional .25 percent increased damage for every point of fury consumed (max of 25 percent) and knocks them back slightly in the direction of the charge. If Ulric directly crosses an enemy champion in his charge, he will carry them to his end location in addition to the strikes and stun them for .75 seconds. Ulric can only carry one champion.
If Ulric collides into terrain at the end of or during his charge and he is carrying someone, the stun will be extended to 1.5 seconds and they will take damage equal to 7.5 percent of their max health. If he collides into any player made terrain, he will still destroy it but his charge will come to a stop and apply the carried champion effects as normal. (Note: Destroying player made terrain only applies to enemy made terrain. You can’t destroy allied terrain but may still use it as colliding terrain if you are carrying a champion.)
Lastly, at the end of his charge, Ulric recovers .25 / .5 / .75 percent of his bonus health for every 2 points of fury consumed (max of 12.5 / 25 / 37.5 percent ). If he is already at full health of if the heal would put him over max, it is instead converted into a shield of the remaining difference for 4 seconds. He also gains the full fury effect of his passive for 5 seconds.
Range: 1000 Cooldown: 140/120/100
#Lore Ulric was born within the Ironspike Mountain close to the Freljord to a very secluded barbarian tribe. His mother had been apart of the tribe while his father, from what he was told was an outsider. Because of this, most of the tribe looked down upon him with disgust. They called him weak, a runt and even an omen among their tribe. Ulric, however, did manage to find some friends and tribesmen who supported him. Quite some time later, their annual tournament came around, a series that pitted the tribes best warriors against one another to prove their strength. Ulric decided to enter in, but the tribe broke out in an outrage, saying that he would be disgrace to their traditions and anger their gods. The chief, though still allowed him in. The tournament began and through many hours of fighting Ulric had come out on top.
To this nearly half of the tribe went into an outroar, saying that this was an insult to all of their ancestors. With one side claiming he shouldn't have one and the other claiming that he deserves the win, hell then finally broke loose when a giant dragon swooped down upon them. It torched many of their homes and killed dozens of their people, including their chief, before flying off. With this those who hated Ulric had it with him, now believing that the dragon was a punishment from their gods for letting him win, let alone enter the tournament, and thus they started killing off every tribesman who stood by Ulric. Escaping to the edge of the village Ulric meets up with his mother, who tells him that he has a twin brother. His father took him away with him when he went back to his home country. She told him to go find his brother, keep each other safe, and not to return here. From that she told him to run as she went back to fend off the tribe to buy her child time to escape. With heavy grief in his heart, he set off into the setting sunlight to find the place where his father are brother would be: Noxus.
After months of wandering, Ulric finally came across the capital. It took a few more days for him to find his brother and when he did it was a little hard for both of them to handle but then they started to accept it. His brother, Cenric, later explained that their father had actually died recently from ill health, leaving him to join the military in order to support himself and survive. He suggested that Ulric join up as well to keep an eye on each other. As such, he agrees.
Over the next several years, Ulric and Cenric soon begin commanding their own units and leading the charges in battles. They were highly respected as well by the whole military, Cenric a bit more then Ulric, since he had been with them longer and Ulric had some trouble cooperating with his superiors. Things however soon changed when they were assigned for the invasion of Ionia. A few months into their service they were reports of a monastery supposedly holding a rare artifact. The Noxian officers believed this to be some sort of weapon they could use and so they assigned Ulric, Cenric and their companies to take the monastery and retrieve the item. They marched their troops there, took the monastery, and nearly had the artifact. However when they went to retrieve it, it emitted a bright strange light and when it ceased they found themselves and their troops in a hellish landscape.
As if things were getting bad enough, demons soon started to surround and swarm them. Ulric could on;y fight for his life as he saw his troops get cut down or eaten alive by the hellish creatures. Soon enough, though, he saw his own brother cut down by a monstrous demon, who quickly turned his attention towards Ulric. The two fought amidst the chaos around them for what felt like hours, with the demon soon pinning Ulric to the ground, burning his flesh as he did, like a branding rod. His foe raise his arm to strike a final blow, but Ulric manage to grab one of his axes and strike a critical blow to the fiend. The demon's quickly reeled back and slumped to the ground while Ulric picked himself from the ground. He only then realized that he was almost the only one remaining and the remaining demons began to move onto him. He then saw the artifact close to him, picked it up and when he did it returned him alone back to the monastery. The artifact soon turned to ash in his hands, and he could hear the sounds of Noxian reinforcements rushing to him.
Afterwards, he was held up by his officials for his failure for the artifact and the disappearance of his brother and both of their units and was put up for a death sentience for his failure. He repeatedly tried explaining what the truth was but they refused to listen. In the end though, they couldn't prove that he was the main cause of the disappearance and their were some things that did seem to add up from his story, but they still argued that the Ionians could've taken them prisoner for trade or whatever else they wanted to believe. In the end, they decided to spare his life, but he was discharged from the military and lost his citizenship. He was then sent back on a boat to Noxus, retrieved whatever he had left, and was promptly kicked out. With no home, no family and left only with his urge to fight, he set off to the world, turning to the mercenary life to constantly seek his next battles.
#Appearance Ulric stands roughly 6'6" with a fairly fit body. His hair is a dark brown, kept very short except for a little length at the top of his head along with a medium-long stubble. He bears a few scars across his face, one getting from his right eyebrow to his ear, having a little bit of the top cut off, one cuts across the bridge of his nose down towards his lower right jaw, leaving a small line mark in his stubble, and one cutting up from his chin up to just above his upper lip. A much more noticable scar, and the one he's mostly known for, is the giant scar he received when fight the demon. It covers a fair portion of the left side of his face, covering a portion of his eye, turning it into almost an amber-orange color, to which his regular eye color is grey. Most of this scar, though hidden most of the time because of his armor, continues down the left side of his body, covering a portion of left chest, the full outside of his left arm and on his back, to which appear to look like giant claw marks with punctuation wounds at the ends of the tips near his spine. As well this scar gives off a faint but still noticeable soft glow.
Ulric's armor is a little different then most normal soldiers. It's all mostly gathered parts around by him from either vendors or people he's slain but it still has that feel and look of Noxian armament rather than a bunch of random armor pieces. It consists of mostly leather and scalemail, with only a few heavier metal parts to add needed defense. Some of these parts consist of spaulders, gauntlets, greaves, sabatons, tassets and a breastplate designed to cover up his upper torso/chest. Because of this armor, he still is allowed a bit more mobility than most other soldiers but still has enough defense to rely on if needed. Finally his weapons consists of two two-handed axes, one for each hand (read trivia as to explain why he's able to do this).
#Personality
Ulric has a bit of a interesting personality, being similar to Geralt from the Witcher series. To most can be described as cold hearted, apathetic, and cynical. He doesn't ever really like being provoked, nor does he take kind to those who look down on others simply because they're born of "royalty" or "noble blood". It's also been known for him to be quick to anger in some situations. He's by nature and past a loner and somewhat of an introvert, but has built up quick a kill streak in recent years to make him all the more threatening.
However this isn't the full case. He has been known to help those in dire need of help or show a kind heart. As well, he is also a very loyal friend to those who he cares about. He also has a bit of a humorous side to him, being similar to Iron Bull or Varric from Dragon Age, as well as sarcastic and a bit of dark humor.
On a more personal note, he does seem to have an obsession with combat but different than in the past. Back in the military, he just relished the feeling of adrenaline as he fought and just loved fighting in general, what with being raised in a barbarian tribe that somewhat focused on combat. However, ever since the encounter with the demons, he almost has nightmares and sudden flashbacks now and again of all the horrible things that have happened to him throughout his life as well as seeing all the dead that he cared for. So instead of fighting for the thrill of fighting, he mostly fights just to have his mind focus on something other then these nightmares he keeps having.
#Trivia
-
So during this version of my concept I'd come up with an idea for Ulric that seemed fairly fun to add in. It essential would be another passive that allowed him to gain a special currency for killing a certain amount of minions/monsters, getting kills on champion, or get special quests for him. Through this currency, you could spend it at the shop to upgrade your abilities, similar to gangplanks ult but it'd be all of your abilities. However, during that time I was testing links to see if they worked properly and when I opened a link within the same tab and closed out of it, pretty much losing all of my work that spent roughly two days on. So then when I started this one immediately afterwards, I decided to scrap it out due to taking too much time to type out and with me coming up with it and shoving it in at the last moment.

Ulric's tribe that he comes from actually has larger growth then normal. Most of the tribe memebers actually grow to about 7-8 1/2' tall. They also have greater strength then most other humans, kinda the reason he is able to wield such giant axes with little trouble.
-
In his honesty, Ulric hadn't really agreed with a lot of Noxus' morals or reasonings. He did see their view point of "strength is everything, survival of the fittest" motive but other then that he heavily disagreed with how their government ran, especially with their current leader.
-
While he is a mercenary doesn't really fight for money like most mercenaries do. As stated above, he mostly fights either for the thrill of fighting but also to block nightmares and flashbacks out of his mind. Payment to him is more of a small bonus for doing his job.
-
It's somewhat rumored that he personally goes out to hunt demons whenever he hears about them popping up. This is most likely to be his way of payback against them and possibly searching for the demon that killed his brother, for he doesn't believe that he's dead just yet.
-
Though it's not told, he actually met Shyvana
when they were younger and when she was still on the run from the drake hunting them. They made a fairly quick friendship for a few years, but disappeared around the time of the tournament, meaning that the dragon that attacked during the tournament might have possibly been the one hunting her. (I also decided to add this in because looking back Ulric and Shyv share the fact that they're both outcasts. The only difference is that Shyvana technically found a home to accept her, Ulric got booted out of his. Also I was heavily inspired by this comic I found a while back and thought about referencing it. Link to the first page of it can be found -----> here <----- for anyone who is interested) With that said though it's unclear about their status to each other now, due to the passage of time and their experiences with two of the longest warring nations in Valoran. -
As to other champion interactions, there are a few: he met Gragas
one day while filling a contract in the Freljord, to which he helped him out in a tavern brawl. He now visits him for a drink everytime he travels to the Freljord. During his time with the military he met Kled
in one of their battles. This is mostly important because Kled was actually the first yordle Ulric had ever encountered, or at the very least finally seen in person. He and Sivir
are pretty much rivals, as to both of them were trying to compete for a hiring from a Shuriman caravan for safe travels. In the end, Ulric got chosen and they've never had good terms since. -
Inspiration for this character came from The Witcher series, God of War series, Berserk, Dragon Age series,_ Diablo III_, Dota 2, &_ Game of Thrones_
