LORE Yuki is a yordle child from Bandle City with courage, curiosity, and joy that outmatches or draws even with even the most notable members of the Bandle Military, ranging from the Bandle Gunners to the Scouts of the Mothership. Early in his life, his father went away to Piltover for reason unknown to him. His mother had to raise him alone in Bandle City. When he was born, times were tough in the city. Pirates from Bilgewater had been raiding their sea trade and assassins from Noxus had been stealing from their trade with Piltover and Demacia. Only the zeppelins traveling across Valoran were a safe form of travel, but even then Zaun on occasion tried to bribe the zeppelin captains in order to smuggle goods from Bandle City into Zaun instead of Piltover. Overall, the city was dying economically, and Yuki and his mother were being affected by it a lot. In the middle of these dire times, a man from Shurima appeared in Bandle City, searching for followers to stop an unknown force he deemed as apocalyptic. Most saw him as a crazy man, but Yuki saw the fear in his eyes. With that fear, however, was anger and determination. Yuki respected the man's resolve to stop this "apocalyptic force", so he began to follow the man around without his mother knowing. The man's outfit was strange in appearance and was no yordle. His purple robe covered his legs and feet, and his breathing was very noticeable. He was almost glowing with magic of some kind. It definitely wasn't magic that originated in Shurima however. Yuki was extremely curious about this man. One day, he decided to approach the man, asking him for his name. The man did not answer at first, asking Yuki for his name first. Yuki replied honestly with his name and awaited the man's response. It did not come however. The man disappeared almost instantly, as if he had vanished. Yuki did not see that man again for a long time, nor did anyone else in Bandle City. Months passed and nothing happened in Bandle City. Treaties were made and trade began to improve, allowing better connection with the outside world. Much of the news was good, but there was one ominous bit that drew Yuki's attention. Creatures of other-worldly kind had entered Valoran since communication had been shut down and no one could explain their appearance. Shurima in particular was plagued with them.

Another month passed and another man with a robe appeared again in Bandle City, this time with others. They began searching for the boy their leader had called Yuki. News traveled quickly, and they were pointed in the direction of Yuki's mother's house, arriving there when the moon was directly above them in the sky. A knock came to the door and the unfortunate mother answered. She was never seen again. Yuki, asleep in his bed, vanished that night as well. No one could explain too much, but all agreed that man had something to do with the boy and his mother's disappearance. Yuki awoke and, around him, nothing appeared. Nothing at all. No light, no sound, nothing but darkness. Whispers flowed through his head. Whispers speaking of the end times and how he should just simply give up and let the Void consume him. Yuki's last light of courage almost gave out when he felt a hand on his back and a flash of light from behind him. He fell on his back onto sand, and he wiped the tears that had formed on his face before opening his eyes. The man that had appeared in Bandle City before, the one who had asked him for his name, appeared before him. The first thing he said to Yuki was his own name. Kassadin, a man with a true cause, was the man who Yuki had wanted to get to know for so long. He asked Yuki what had happened and Yuki told him everything. He sighed, realizing all this time that what he had expected was true. Reaching out his hand, he offered Yuki to follow him through the desert. This was when the yordle child realized they were now in Shurima somehow. Kassadin explained that Yuki had, in fact, entered the Void. This was the apocalyptic force he had warned the naive citizens of Bandle City of. He also explained how the man who had likely sent Yuki to the Void was likely the same man who directly opposed Kassadin and who had sent his own daughter to the Void as well. The man known as Malzahar. This new flood of information filled Yuki's head with questions. What exactly was the Void? How did Kassadin know of it? Who is Malzahar? Where was his mother? Kassadin explained that he did not know where his mother was and told Yuki of how he himself came to know of the Void. He explained how he had disappeared that day he asked him for his name because an old yordle man, who was one of his followers, had told him that his son named Yuki was filled with a form of magic that yordle kind had never seen before. Noticing his confusion, Kassadin explained that the man he was referring to was Yuki's father and that the magic inside Yuki is a unique form of magic that all yordles have inside them. The blood of yordles naturally carries magic within it, even at their birth, each yordle's magic leaning in a certain direction to favor one form of magic. Yuki held within him a type of magic that has yet to be discovered and studied. What was known about it, however, was that it is the opposite of what the Void is filled with. This caused Kassadin and his followers to believe that Yuki was the key to stopping the Void. After many hours of walking, Kassadin and Yuki came to a large city with a large disk hovering over it. The capital of Shurima was before them and Kassadin had already prepared Yuki's arrival with the man in charge himself. The streets were heavily guarded so as to stop any possible attack from Malzahar and his own followers. Eventually arriving at the palace, the emperor known in Bandle City and all of Valoran as Azir awaited them along with Nasus. Both were ascended beings touched with almost god-like powers. Azir and his empire had heard of Kassadin's cries for assistance and had directly witnessed the destruction of the Void through the Xer'sai, the beings who had been said to have overrun parts of Shurima.

Yuki bowed to Azir as Kassadin did when they approached him. Kassadin was surprised when Azir actually bowed in return to Yuki since he held a stern belief that Yuki could stop the Void. Azir, a wise emperor, knew of the power that even a small child could bring, and so he had no doubts. Still, after bowing, he motioned for the guards to seal all entrances to the palace. Showing Yuki around as if they had known each other for years, Azir showed him great respect and treated him to whatever bits of food and water he had. He knew the young child must be starving after traveling the desert for so long. Yuki was not so interested in such things however, more curious about the Void and how exactly he could stop it. The emperor sighed, almost expecting such a response. Nasus and Kassadin entered the room, having followed them through the palace while discussing what exactly they were to do next. They explained that they were going to train Yuki, Kassadin teaching how to handle his magic and Nasus training him in whichever weaponry he chose. While the young yordle was scared, he was also filled with excitement. This was the adventure he had awaited for his entire life and, now, he was being given it to him. After months of training, Yuki awoke in his room in the Shuriman palace. He held out his hand and concentrated with all his might, also closing his eyes. A yellow orb appeared in his hand. He opened his eyes and smiled at this. He felt he was ready to help the world. His magic, coming to be named the Hope Kinetic, had improved greatly since the beginning of his training. Picking up his staff, Yuki childishly ran to the emperor and asked if he could go out into the field to test his might. While Azir disagreed, Nasus could see the need for adventure in the child's eyes. He knew that look. It was the same look a young Renekton had when he and Nasus were not yet ascended and they woke up in the desert. Every morning, Renekton wanted to go out and explore. Knowing what might happen if he was denied this like Renekton had been, Nasus knew Yuki's thirst for adventure had to be sated. He suggested going with Yuki to the edges of the Sai to exterminate some of the Xer'sai living there. Filled with joy at this notion, Yuki ran to the entrance to the palace as Nasus quickly followed. How exactly would Yuki's first day at combating the Void go? What surprises would await him? And was he ready to kill another creature, even if it is from the Void? These questions circled Nasus' mind. All he knew was this was happening and that he was going to have to be ready for whatever happened. Yuki exited the capital and set off for the Sai, ready for action. Champions Mentioned: Kassadin Malzahar Azir Nasus Renekton
