I mean Taric is probably gay, but i don't wanna be a judgmental dick, he could be transgender or simply fabulous. We need a champ who is loud and proud about his same sex love. Maybe a female champ that isn't about being a mans definition of beauty but loves to show her strength and dive a few muffs in her free time. W/E guys, run with it.
Okay, why? Champions need a lot more going for them than to fill a niche. A new niche is always a good starting-off point, but you need a lot more to create a quality character. And having your starting off point be that character's sexuality doesn't quite fly with me.
What is the point of this? I am not homophobic by any means but I just don't see the point in a champion being openly gay especially when no other champion is so open about their sexuality, simply because it's not necessary.
Do you realize you are asking for a champion to openly throw in other peoples faces their sexuality? That's disgusting. Let me phrase this the other way around so you can understand.
"Omg I'm so wet," says a champion interaction with a chick champion towards a dude champion. We don't need that k thanks.
Regional issues aside...
I don't think it needs to be such a big deal. Loud and proud? Rainbow attacks? Sure, it'd be nice, but just think about it: only one canonically queer champ and they'd be playing into a stereotype. Believe me, as an openly queer person myself I totally want more representation. Yes. But I want it done right. We aren't just some theme to slap on characters. I wouldn't want a champ who's DEFINING TRAIT is their sexuality! Make it canon, make it indisputable, give queer people representation, but make them a well-rounded, realistic, and interesting character when you do it. Personally I think the best way to do it is involve it in their lore, say hey this chick has a wife or this dude has a husband. Because its really no big deal. You can work it in and just treat them like any other character. Maybe if pride themes really needed to be worked in then maybe involve it in their dance, joke, or taunt or something, but even then I don't think its necessary. I don't want there to be just one champ who's canonically queer, and only there for the sake of lgbtqa+ pride. Queer people are normal people too. You can have representation without treating them differently.

What does IRL politics have to do with LoL? Yup, absolutely nothing.
Its still not legal in several other countries and so I doubt that they will ever make an openly homosexual champ.(like others here pointed out,they couldn't even give graves a cigar in his splash art and can't make a human skeleton champ,because of the rules in other countries. at best we'd get a clarification from a rioter that a certain champ is homosexual.
Also if anything,the homosexuality of the character shouldn't be the defining trait of the champ,I mean Lucian also doesn't run around as "The champ who is confirmed to be heterosexual"(ok he could also be bisexual).

Who knows? Maybe a year down the road, Caitlyn and Vi will get married or something. Maybe a Rioter will mention (Word of God) that a champion is gay but it doesn't really come up.
Same Sex marriage is legal in a lot of places but it still isn't in a lot more, since League of Legends is a played around the world there still is a lot of places that will have issues with Riot for making an openly homosexual champion.
